Okay I understand what Disney is trying to do but they should really stick to what they were doing with Maleficent. How about a story focusing on Gaston! Or Ursula? Hell even Scar from Lion King (I would love to see). Why do we need a Disney live action version of a Disney animated film?

Bill Condon did another musical called "Dreamgirls", that was pretty good. He's a good fit. I like the screenwriter's work as well

I so would enjoy a Beauty & the Beast movie that is more closer to the source material. I don't think Disney will be the one to do it though. As for this casting news, I think she will do a good job.

If Disney really want to make a killing for small cost, just take the current voice tracks they already own for movies like Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, etc... And just do new 3D animation Frozen style for the new generation. Billions to be made.

"Into the Woods" got pretty 'Grimm' with its 'Fairy Tales' and then the second half of the movie just gets even more depressing to the point where I couldn't take it's beacon(s) of hope seriously.

Good Casting, but for the love of Disney, don't just have its animation dept adapt all the fairy tales that have yet to reach the silver screen.
