Award winning actress Alfre Woodard has joined the cast of Marvel and Netflix's Luke Cage TV series alongside Mike Colter in the title role. According to Deadline she'll be playing Minetta, "a powerful woman in local politics who will have an impact on Luke Cage’s life." But they go on to say that they've heard she's actually playing a version of professional criminal and a drug dealer Black Mariah, who was a foe of both Cage and Iron Fist in the comics.

We also have what might be our first logline for the show: "Mike Colter, who will be first introduced in the second Marvel series for Netflix, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, plays Cage, a wrongly accused man who, granted superstrength by a sabotaged experiment, escapes prison to become a superhero for hire."

Luke Cage will debut after Jessica Jones, and Cheo Hodari Coker will serve as executive producer and showrunner. What do you guys think of this casting?
