Lost actor Terry O'Quinn is the latest name dropped as a possible candidate for the role of Lex Luthor in Batman vs Superman. At least that's the latest from the Superman Super Site and Man of Steel Fan Page. It's reported that O'Quinn is one of several actors on Zack Snyder's shortlist so there's no guarantee he'll get the role. But I'll certainly admit, O'Quinn definitely has the look. Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) was previously rumored to be up for the role, as well as Mark Strong (John Carter, Sherlock Holmes) but both actors debunked have since debunked those rumors. With filming expected to begin in earnest in early 2014,expect official casting announcements to come sooner rather than later.

HavocPrime - 11/12/2013, 3:35 AM
Seriously, people really need to stop throwing every actor who is bald's name into this pile, this was just as bad as when Black Panther was rumoured to be made next.
SuperCat - 11/12/2013, 3:35 AM
Luthor?!

ManOfKrypton - 11/12/2013, 3:42 AM
Too old, they need someone younger.
RyKnow - 11/12/2013, 3:44 AM
Huh, didn't see that coming. Never watched Lost but O'Quinn was good in Millenium.
But whatever, any kind of remotely interesting news about this film just gets an instant buzz-kill because of the horrendous news that has already been released;

Batman being in it. Ben Affleck as Batman. No Christopher Nolan. No Hans Zimmer. No Michael Shannon. No Russell Crowe. No Kevin Costner. Nightwing in it. Wonder Woman in it.

So the fact that Lex Luthor is in it is not enough to get me even an atom sized ammount excited.

Great work Snyder. Knew from day one of you being involved in Man of Steel that you'd cock this franchise up sooner or later.

I think they should option for a big star

Brad Luthor
CaptShipwreck - 11/12/2013, 3:45 AM
Who ever is in charge of casting seems to be making odd choices ...
maxleresistant - 11/12/2013, 3:45 AM
I don't agree. I'm gonna throw this name again, but Josh brolin would be great as luthor ^^ Too bad it's not possible because of the all Diane lane thing
AbedIsBatman - 11/12/2013, 3:45 AM
That offically rules him out. As with any casting rumors, it's the guy you never hear about who will get the role.
RyKnow - 11/12/2013, 3:46 AM
@ Tempo - I'd save that option for a reboot (please let us get a reboot).
CaptShipwreck - 11/12/2013, 3:46 AM
Not fantastic four reboot bad but still bad casting if true
MrDonut - 11/12/2013, 3:48 AM
Someone that's about the same age as Ben Affleck would b good; Damian Lewis would b cool
MarkJulian - 11/12/2013, 3:52 AM
The shortlist for Wonder Woman was debunked by The Hollywood Reporter. Those actresses on that shortlist are for Batman's love interest, which they say is not WW.

I wouldn't be surprised if the entire Bat-family is in it considering Batman is weary and tired which means he's been at it for a long time already. Plenty of time to have Dick change from Robin to Nightwing, have Batgirl and maybe even another Robin (Jason or Tim).

What I think it that they'll have quick cameo roles and nothing significant. Maybe Clark will track down Dick to ask him what Batman is like but I don't expect any of the sidekicks to have a central role in the film.

Terry O'Quinn is only 61. Samuel L. Jackson is 64. I don't think the role of Lex Luthor will require more physicality than Nick Fury.
RyKnow - 11/12/2013, 3:56 AM
I wasn't expecting to see the entire Bat-family in a Superman sequel. Rather a Batman film. Thought I'd see Superman in a sequel, but seems more likely he'll merely be "showing up" (in a 40 minute fight scene probably).
king666 - 11/12/2013, 3:56 AM
Jon Hamm!
MrReese - 11/12/2013, 4:01 AM
Liked him in Lost.
MsDarkPhoenix - 11/12/2013, 4:07 AM
BATman of steel

WB should better find a better title for the sequel and not Batman vs Superman if WW and Nightwing will show up. I'm not a hater, I really liked MoS and I've been waiting for a JL movie since I was a kid but you can't just have cameos of JL members in a Superman movie. They have to do better than that!
RyKnow - 11/12/2013, 4:10 AM
@ TheDarkPhoenix - That is what's irking me the most.
Moviefanatic14 - 11/12/2013, 4:23 AM
Like Hume as an actor ever since lost but feel he's to old, even older than Bryan Cranston, but at least we are getting led casting rumors again
Nubase - 11/12/2013, 4:28 AM
The role of lex will got to some who got lots of acting experience as he has to capture lex luthors personality and also obsession with superman, it has to burst out of him on screen.
Moviefanatic14 - 11/12/2013, 4:29 AM
Is it me or does Colin salmon who plays Walter on arrow scream lex luthor, from his look to his height and the persona he gives off, I know he black but so was kingpin, it's a shame that they already using him for arrow thougg
GenreFan - 11/12/2013, 4:30 AM
Zane would be silly. Just because he looks like the cartoon doesn't mean ht's good for the part. This guy would be believable as an older, established. A seasoned politician and a business man.
AstroZombie - 11/12/2013, 4:31 AM
Why do people keep saying Billy Zane? Have you seen that guys IMDB page? His filmography is abysmal.
MsDarkPhoenix - 11/12/2013, 4:34 AM
@1to10youLose I didn't say Marvel is doing great right now. IM3 and TDW had way more comedy than they should. But you can't compare Wonder Woman to Black Widow, even my mum knows WW, she isn't a character just for a cameo.
TheJester - 11/12/2013, 4:38 AM
Because 99.9 percent of the tards that post here only want someone that looks the part. They could give a flying [frick] if they could act.
AstroZombie - 11/12/2013, 4:39 AM
Seriously, the only way Billy Zane is ever gonna play Lex Luther, is if SyFy channel makes their own cheap knock off Superman movie.
TheRebellion - 11/12/2013, 4:44 AM
I'll take some John Locke for Lex. It's not like he is going to be doing a bunch of fighting unless he is in armor. Billy Zane....lmao.
KindredMac - 11/12/2013, 4:48 AM
He can play a great calculating character! Awesome in Lost and 666 Park Ave! He would get my blessing if chosen!
PeterDarker121 - 11/12/2013, 4:48 AM
@aAnarkyInTheUSA lol Or if one of his local community theaters does a stage version of 'Superman' for charity...
AvatarIII - 11/12/2013, 4:50 AM
Billy Zane was amazing in Critters!
AvatarIII - 11/12/2013, 4:51 AM
I'd like to see Ryan Gosling as Lex to be honest.

@1to10youLose you keep on mentioning double standards like I'm the biggest Marvel fan and I hate every other movie. Well, I'm not, if a movie is good I like it regardless the studio that made it. I wouldn't be happy if Hulk was introduced in an Iron Man film, I'm not happy if WW gets introduced in a Superman film. The characters that you mentioned aren't that famous except for the ones at Wolverine but this movie isn't a great example.
CrimsonReign - 11/12/2013, 5:06 AM
I loved him as Locke.
Enphlieuwince - 11/12/2013, 5:15 AM
Jason Patric all the way.
