Quick Update On Rogue's Removal From X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Yes, director Bryan Singer recently revealed that Rogue's (Anna Paquin) only scene in X-Men: Days of Future past has been left on the cutting room floor. However, there's still a chance the Southern belle could make an appearance in the seventh X-Men film in the series.

Rogue X-Men Days of Future Past

HitFix reports that despite the recent reveal that Anna Paquin's Rogue was pushed out from X-Men: Days of Future Past in Bryan Singer's initial cut of the film, there's a chance the actress may actually still appear. Last November, a report surfaced that Days of Future Past was returning to Canada for reshoots [see HERE]. Singer quickly clarified that he and his crew were returning to Montreal for pick-ups (additional filming) not to film a scene over again [see HERE]. Well, HitFix now reports that actual reshoots are on the horizon for the seventh X-Men film and that there's a chance Rogue could be worked back into the film during those reshoots.

I'm leaning towards the notion that Rogue will have an appearance in the film. Keep in mind, Paquin appeared at Comic-Con with the full cast and was featured in the first trailer. It would be very strange for the Academy Award winning actress to suddenly find herself out of the film. Also, look back at some of your favorite superhero movies and think about the plethora of scenes that were shown in trailers and tv spots that weren't actually in the finished film. The director of the film didn't make a big announcement that those scenes were cut well BEFORE the film was released. Something smells fishy here.

But, she doesn't have any powers after X3, which is technically in the same canon as this film....strange or not, she doesn't belong in the finished product.
MarkJulian - 12/21/2013, 8:12 AM
X3 ended with the reveal that the cure wasn't permanent.
Magnus66 - 12/21/2013, 8:13 AM
Her film character never did much for me anyway. Powerful character in the comics... pretty boring in the movies.

I'm not going to miss her at all.
EpitomeofAwesome - 12/21/2013, 8:14 AM
Well, at least she may be in it!
denotsip - 12/21/2013, 8:18 AM
and the reason for cutting her out in the first place was…….. (ok go)!
jimoakley666 - 12/21/2013, 8:20 AM
Yeah, if Magneto has his abilities back, Rogue will too.
deamon - 12/21/2013, 8:21 AM
Cure doesn't work forever. Source was Lechh, who took off someone power only around him, not forever.
Rogue should have her power after 10+ years for sure.
GageHarts - 12/21/2013, 8:23 AM
I've always been a fan of the movies and I've never read much X-men but Jean Grey & Rogue are annoying characters on screen to me.
MrCBM56 - 12/21/2013, 8:25 AM
She better be in it.
SupermanFan - 12/21/2013, 8:30 AM
@MarkJulian I don't remember that , I remember a alternate ending where she did not take the cure.
gambgel - 12/21/2013, 8:32 AM
Singer tried to make us all believe she only had one scene, but in fact we have already seen she appears on three different locations and scenes. Even the EW article said it was a sequence, so some sites are missing all the info.
JoeMomma29 - 12/21/2013, 8:38 AM
This is so stupid!
JamesMan - 12/21/2013, 8:38 AM

It's revealed at the very last scene where Magneto is in the park and he moves the chess piece.
pointman - 12/21/2013, 8:39 AM
Exactly! They are cashing on the Jennifer aren't they? I still hate the big screen version of Mystique.
McNyagano - 12/21/2013, 8:50 AM
This is bullshit >:(
bs77 - 12/21/2013, 8:51 AM
Rogue was a wasted character in these movies. She was only there to flesh out Wolverine and be a plot device for the Magneto storyline.

I had really hoped she evolved into the "superwoman" of the comics, but they decided to skip ahead and make Jean the Phoenix instead, sorta. It's weird that they reduced Rogue to almost just a stand-in character after all her interaction with Logan, and Wolverine going on to be the tentpole character of the series. She could have been awesome with Logan their to anchor her. Instead they did the fast forward on Jean and made her super powerful and tried to anchor her with Logan, when it should have been Scott, whom they killed for no reason. Cyclops really go the shaft in this series, followed by Rogue.
JoeMomma29 - 12/21/2013, 8:53 AM
And people on this site question all the hate that Singer gets.
superherofan21 - 12/21/2013, 8:58 AM
I sure hope she ends up in it.
shangho - 12/21/2013, 8:59 AM
Agreed about Cyclops. For the leader of the X-Men he was unfortunately relegated to a supporting role.Such a shame,he had great potential
lvcl - 12/21/2013, 9:04 AM
Singer hates the X-Men
he only wants FoxVerine on their movies
imaginejim - 12/21/2013, 9:06 AM
I love how a lot of people always say that Rogue lost her powers in X3 so she shouldn't even be in the movie but then don't mention the fact that Magneto, who took four vials in the chest, is. I know a lot of people have pointed out that the end of X3 shows that the cure is temporary so I won't go there, my comment is more about how people remember that Rogue got the cure (off camera) but forget that Magneto got it (on camera).
Milling - 12/21/2013, 9:19 AM
PLEASE GET HER OUT! she was bad as rogue, i want the rogue version from X-men tas from the 90's. Really don't like her as rogue
TheSoulEater - 12/21/2013, 9:20 AM
ReeferInferno - 12/21/2013, 9:29 AM
Does anyone know if Cyclops is in this? Is there any reason to hope?
CherryBomb - 12/21/2013, 9:33 AM
I hope this is true and they will re-shoot!
The series began with Rogue and one of the finest elements of the movie trilogy was the Rogue/Wolverine relationship.

They're two isolated characters that have developed a sweet bond. I think it would be great to see that again in DOFP.

Plus. Hopefully Singer has learned from his mistakes with Rogue and the time gap since X3 have made her more feisty.

Anna Paquin in True Blood is how I picture Rogue.
CherryBomb - 12/21/2013, 9:34 AM

Well, I think people are denying it. But James Marsden was spotted flying to the same place where DOFP was being filmed. It could be a coincidence or it could be a secret cameo like they tried to do with Rebecca Romijn in X-FC and Jean in Wolverine.
DefcoN - 12/21/2013, 9:36 AM
That's what happens when you cram so many characters into a movie.
CherryBomb - 12/21/2013, 9:37 AM
About Mystique.
I don't mind so much that they're pushing a spotlight on her.

She's up there as one of the oldest characters in the movies with Magneto, Charles and Wolverine. So it'd make sense that she'd have a past. She's also a very intelligent, manipulative woman who definitely shakes things up.
Drewbee87 - 12/21/2013, 9:41 AM
@DefcoN It's X-Men, there's no limit to how many can show up. lol
faver - 12/21/2013, 9:48 AM
I don't mind Rogue being cut if it's in the service of streamlining the story (like we were told about the cutting of MJ from TASM2).

I remember an old synopsis that said that something bad happened to Kitty while she was phasing Wolverine through time, and that the X-Men needed to get someone else who could use her power to get him to come back. That was Rogue and she was imprisoned, so they had to break her out. I assume she had more than just one scene, but the entire conflict with Kitty was deleted (let's be honest, it wouldn't add much to the story). So maybe the reshoots are to have Logan come back to Kitty next to him instead of Rogue.

Or maybe that synopsis was completely fake and I didn't hear.
TheBlackNerd - 12/21/2013, 9:50 AM
I'm honestly more interested in Halle Berry getting reshoots than Rogue. However I am still interested in Rogue getting some screen time.
LastAvenger99 - 12/21/2013, 9:56 AM
I hate when people call this movie a big cluster. From the looks of it Avengers 2 will be a cluster of heroes no one says nothin about that and also look at Lord of the Rings 50 million characters with all their different stories happening at the same time.
LastAvenger99 - 12/21/2013, 9:57 AM
@TheBlackNerd yes i agree i rather see Storm given more to do than Rogue
faver - 12/21/2013, 10:11 AM

I don't get why people used to complain that 'there were too many characters, it's going to be a cameo fest!' and now that the director is cutting things in order to make a better movie people is complaining.

Yeah, you not always get to have your favorite character with as much screentime as you wish, but to go from "Too many characters, it's a disaster" to "They're cutting characters, it's a disaster" seems a bit strange.

I know that we could end up with a film like Thor: The Dark World, which had cuts that left the villain with no development at all and made the film a succession of (pretty good) jokes and great Loki scenes instead of a good story (it was fun nonetheless, I'm not trying to start an argument about Thor or Marvel), but I don't think a sequence being cut is an indicative of that yet.

I was vocal about having a bad feeling about T:TDW's story before the movie came out, yes, but that's because all the rumours about Taylor being uncomfortable with scenes being cut that he wanted to have in the film (and after seeing the finished film, it's pretty obvious that some important material was probably left out). This is a direction that, from what we know, is being made by the director to improve the story, not from a meddling studio.
Morbius - 12/21/2013, 10:15 AM
weird well if she only had one scene then its not a complete loss but I hope she is still in the film somehow I mean she was in the trailer for crying out loud.
DurtyTalynt - 12/21/2013, 10:20 AM
Doesnt matter. What the hell was she gonna do anyway. Run at normal power walking speed and hope rival mutants are dumb enough to let her touch them? Or maybe she will just stalk bobby snowman and emo kitty pryde. Fantastically Wack character developement in the whole franchise.
blkchi - 12/21/2013, 10:21 AM
Singer you arse Rouge was the reason I planned on watching to see her character development don't be cheap with the fx Rouge powers may bring the fx budget up but so what..we don't want another wolverine movie or young xvavier philosopher movie we want a XMEN movie
TheBlackNerd - 12/21/2013, 10:21 AM

Exactly, Storm was originally given a pretty huge role in the comic book story arc so since Halle has had her child it would be nice to see her do the stunts she was meant to do.
blkchi - 12/21/2013, 10:22 AM
Bishop ???plz tell me Bob Marley looking guy in cape ain't bishop
Arrowhead77 - 12/21/2013, 10:24 AM
