Wow, we can say what we want about Michael Bay but damn does he know how to utilize CGI and make stunning set pieces! I mean look at that last segment in the trailer! Please can someone make a gif out of the last part of the trailer (2:19 - 2:25ish)?!

Copy/pasting from the previous Transformer thread to get my point across:

I'm not surprised at all that so many users on this site seem to be so excited for this. It's just going to be more of the same: more ridiculously incoherent action scenes of poorly-used shaky-cam, more Transformers so they can churn out some toys, more cheap/played-out talk of "destiny" and saving the world, more exploitative shots of hot women, more offensive/misogynistic/racist attempts at "humor"...and it's still going to make ungodly amounts of money. People will just never learn.

OPTIMUS Is a [Frick]ing! Badass!!
Humperdink - 5/15/2014, 12:20 AM
I'll watch it.
Even though I feel like I've seen it before.

It's another invasion of generic gray robots vs the autobots with humans running around screaming.

I guess if the formula works though, why should Bay stop using it?

At least the graphics will be amazing.
I just wish another director would get a crack at the franchise.

If the answer to "Who sent you?" is Unicron I'll punch the person in the seat next to me due to excitement.

Patrick2274 - 5/15/2014, 1:01 AM
Not excited !

It looks to much like the earlier 3 flicks so too much Bay.

For me the only good thing he made was Bad Boys (1995) but that's all !
mgeoff88 - 5/15/2014, 1:08 AM
This looks like an average Michael Bay movie. All action, no substance. Nothing special.

I will say though, Mark Wahlberg is a big step up from Shia LaBeouf.
Humperdink - 5/15/2014, 1:14 AM
Devastation,

This looks completely different and great all together. Oh yes, I'm hyped.

- Secret Government Organization/Corrupt Corporation comes to the home of a simple family because they have Autobots and starts pushing them around?

CHECK.

- Family decides to help the Autobots against their enemies and the Secret Government Organization/Corrupt Corporation?

CHECK.

- Secret Government Organization/Corrupt Corporation wants to obtain something unique to the Transformers that only they have but is very dangerous and could threaten all life if in the hands of the wrong individuals?

CHECK.

- Invasion force of generic bad-bots starts wiping out the humans and the Autobots fight alongside the family in order to stop them? Possibly teaming up with the Secret Government organization/Corrupt corporation who were enemies earlier?

CHECK.

Human family run around screaming to the Autobots for help amid the chaos and they swoop in to grab them up as the destruction reigns around everyone.

CHECK.

SO...what exactly is different?
The dinosaur robots?

Be honest. You just like the nice CGI and the action.
I admit it looks cool...but it is no where NEAR any different than the other films from what I've seen.
LittleDanglyThing - 5/15/2014, 1:16 AM
Out of curiosity, has anyone seen this? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004912/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Apparently Dr. Strange has been cast but idk if this is true will one of you confirm for me?
Humperdink - 5/15/2014, 1:20 AM
@LittleDanglyThing

A member of iMDB can enter the name of an actor as cast in the film without any confirmation from any studio or agency that it is a fact. Staff will usually correct that eventually.

There is a very loose system on that site when it comes to member input. People can rate a movie they haven't seen or flood votes to a film they want rated in the top 250 categories.

I'd ignore that for now. I'm sure it's a member contribution.

Doctor Strange has not been officially cast.
You will get an official announcement when it has.
LittleDanglyThing - 5/15/2014, 1:23 AM
Also, i really wonder how they're going to explain the Dinobots.
LittleDanglyThing - 5/15/2014, 1:25 AM
@Humperdink

Thanks, man!
Ya I actually stumbled upon that from some random on Tumblr lol and I was like "wtf?" but thanks for the info, I didn't know IMDB was like Wikipedia I actually thought it was ran more efficiently.
