Chills and thrills: will Gotham City be put on ice? George Clooney is Batman as the dark knight battles his greatest threat yet: cold-hearted Mr. Freeze (Schwarzenegger) and venomous Poison Ivy (Thurman). Batman has more than Gotham City to protect: the youthful eagerness of crimefighting comrades Robin (O'Donnell) and Batgirl (Silversone) puts them frequently in harm's way.

Batman & Robin (1997) was directed by Joel Schumacher, from a script written by Akiva Goldsman. The film starred: Arnold Schwarzenegger as Dr. Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze, George Clooney as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Chris O'Donnell as Dick Grayson/Robin, Uma Thurman as Dr. Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, Alicia Silverstone as Barbara Wilson/Batgirl, Michael Gough as Alfred Pennyworth, Pat Hingle as Commissioner James Gordon, Elle Macpherson as Julie Madison, Vivica A. Fox as Ms. B. Haven, and Vendela Kirsebom as Nora Fries.

It's almost as if at one point this movie had some sliver of potential... And somewhere along the way they messed up.
Jollem - 7/18/2014, 12:22 PM
there's the real "bino"

it's always great to see concept art before the digital era
BatCiggy - 7/18/2014, 12:22 PM
Also, first. Noice.
BatCiggy - 7/18/2014, 12:25 PM
But I mean, really. The concept art looks great. It looks as though they had wanted a more comicbook feel to the movie, but that changed at one point or another. Batman's costume designs are awesome! And I feel that with proper direction, Clooney could have possibly made an okay Batman. Possibly.

They didn't draw the nipples on these. What gives?
wbrowning79 - 7/18/2014, 12:28 PM
Isn't it odd that while this one is considered one of the worst films of all time (and of course for good reason) the one that only came after the one after batman and robin is now considered one of the greatest films of all time? I know it's somewhat unrelated but I thought Id just throw that out there. Great find by the way.

Best CBM to date. Better than Gayvengers or the Fart Knight!
Binker - 7/18/2014, 12:30 PM
Why remind us of this movie? I mean, why? Why?! The original Batman films ended with Batman Forever, then rebooted with Batman Begins 10 years later.

That...is...the...reality...

lol

I remember early in the process of making this one they announced their intention to use the cartoon origin of Mr. Freeze and were looking at Patrick Stewart to play him.

Then later I had heard that Arnold would play Mr. Freeze and Schumacher was talking about the film saying things like "Bruce Wayne's parents died when he was a child... I think he would be over it by now." That was when I wrote off all hope for this one.
MrMartinMarvel - 7/18/2014, 12:34 PM
Silly goose, there's no such thing as a Batman and Robin movie.
Humperdink - 7/18/2014, 12:37 PM
Nice find.
I really like this Batgirl:

Man, so much went wrong with this film.

Film was bad and burnt the bat to the ground.... Thankfully Nolan rose a phoenix from the ashes with BB...
Sipprelle - 7/18/2014, 12:42 PM
No problem here

Wolf38 - 7/18/2014, 12:46 PM
Yeah, Poison Ivy and Batgirl look much better when they don't resemble the actual movie. Ivy especially when she looks more like the animated series character.
CaptShipwreck - 7/18/2014, 12:46 PM
Still better than green lantern

Wow, some of this is actually great art (despite the film being utter shit).
Jollem - 7/18/2014, 12:55 PM
fun fact: heavy drinking = ugly porkchop face :D
Gusto - 7/18/2014, 12:58 PM
What a horrible, horrible [frick]in' film.
Gusto - 7/18/2014, 1:00 PM
Shut up, Joll!
I don't spit on your religion, man!
RajunRemyLebeau - 7/18/2014, 1:02 PM
Why couldn't we have had THAT Ivy?
RajunRemyLebeau - 7/18/2014, 1:03 PM
Does anyone think that Chris O'Donnell looks like Steve Amell's Arrow?
Chloefornication - 7/18/2014, 1:04 PM
@wbrowning79

You seriously think Batman Begins is considered one of the greatest films ever made?
Jollem - 7/18/2014, 1:05 PM
*editor's note*

except for Gusto. drinking makes him sexier to all humans and wildlife
neihofft - 7/18/2014, 1:05 PM
No regrets. I'd like Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy suck the [frick] out my mushroom tip.
Jollem - 7/18/2014, 1:06 PM
i think batman begins is rather exceptional

MrFrostxxx - 7/18/2014, 1:27 PM
CRAP
HypeMusheen - 7/18/2014, 1:29 PM
still better than this...

yossarian - 7/18/2014, 1:30 PM
Is B&R better or worse than the entire TASM franchise?
GreenLanternLad - 7/18/2014, 1:31 PM
Still, who actually thought to themselves 'batman ought to have nipples.'
GUNSMITH - 7/18/2014, 1:32 PM
SO MUCH NEON IN THIS MOVIE.
yossarian - 7/18/2014, 1:32 PM
Poor fella. Buy a rodent. They don't live long and love anything that feeds them.
BlindJustice - 7/18/2014, 1:33 PM
The Animated Series was going strong during the time of this movie and SHOULD have had much more influence on it! Mr. Freeze was just...so terrible. Could you imagine if Mr. Freeze had been done like the one in the Animated Series? Oh and if Arnold hadn't have played him.

Damn. I miss THIS Freeze his voice was just haunting!
Jollem - 7/18/2014, 1:43 PM
i thought max von sydow would have made a great fries for nolan's batman
yossarian - 7/18/2014, 2:00 PM
Yeah. All 85 year old men should star in movie where they have to fight a ninja.
Berserker187 - 7/18/2014, 2:00 PM
this moie look like it had potential. what happen?
XK1D - 7/18/2014, 2:06 PM
