Movie Web has just posted a new article that claims that an inside source over at EON Productions has a few story details and a major character reveal. According to the source Judi Dench will be replaced by Ralph Fiennes as the new M.
M is the head of the MI6, James Bond's superior. The character was originally played by Bernard Lee for eleven films, then he was followed up by Robert Brown for four films. Then Judi Dench took over in 1995, and Skyfall will be her seventh Bond film.
"Ralph Fiennes play's a government agent, which we never get a name on, because he is set to play the new M.
Skyfall centers around M (Judi Dench) where her past forces her to leave as head of MI6, and find a new M. The board of MI6 then turns to a government agent (Ralph Fiennes) to take over. M (Dame Judi) is now forced to train the new head of MI6."
While this news has yet to be confirmed, it does come from a quite reliable source inside the studio.
Skyfall, Craig's third outing as James Bond will be released on October 26, 2012. Daniel Craig will be joined by Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, as well as a Judi Dench as M.
