Christopher Nolan will add his handprints and footprints to the famous walk at Grauman’s Chinese Theater. He may deserve a whole city block of his cemented footprints if the rumors are true that The Dark Knight Rises is better than The Dark Knight.

Before Christopher Nolan releases his final Batman film he will be honored at the prestigious Grauman’s Chinese Theater. The director of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and the upcoming blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises will be immortalized on the walk next to such stars as Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable.

In celebration of the upcoming release of "The Dark Knight Rises," the film's director/writer/producer, Christopher Nolan, will be accorded a rare industry honor: Nolan will have his hand and footprints cemented into the famed forecourt of Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The hand-and-footprint ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 7, at 10:00 a.m.

Jeff Robinov, President, Warner Bros. Pictures Group, stated, "Everyone at Warner Bros. joins me in congratulating Christopher Nolan, who has been such an integral part of our family for the past 12 years. We are extremely proud of the cinematic legacy he has given us through his films. At only 41, Christopher takes his place alongside other industry giants featured at Grauman's, and generations of fans will remember the extraordinary impression he left on their imaginations."

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.

batfan175 - 6/28/2012, 11:13 AM
a great honour indeed and it's very well deserved. No failure so far. Lets hope this film does not break that trend.
DanteSparda - 6/28/2012, 11:13 AM
Nice! If you ask me he deserved that place since a long time ago.

@nailbiter111:
"if the rumors are true that The Dark Knight Rises is better than The Dark Knight."

LOL!! I can't help but laugh at that "rumor".
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 6/28/2012, 11:17 AM
Ahh the time honored tradition of having a star on the Walk of Fame. He joins the greats like:

Vanilla Ice
Sean "Diddy" Combs
Bryan Adams
John Daly
Godzilla
Aresenio Hall
Olivia Newton John
Jessica Simpson
Supes17 - 6/28/2012, 11:25 AM

silverdog - 6/28/2012, 11:47 AM
"will be accorded a rare industry honor"... bitch please, everybody from Paula Abdul to Tinker Bell has one of those "rare" honors.

@IM53

The Batman Complex, the craziest way to end his Batman saga:

CaptainObvious - 6/28/2012, 11:55 AM
@RidiculousFanBoyDemands- Has Vanilla Ice done anything noticeable since the 90's ended?
marvel72 - 6/28/2012, 11:57 AM

marvel72 - 6/28/2012, 12:09 PM
@ IgnurRant

DragonofDarknessXIII - 6/28/2012, 12:14 PM
Congratulations Mr. Nolan. I just hope Michael Bay never gets one.
Supes17 - 6/28/2012, 12:17 PM
@marvel72:
Those four and The Prestige are the only ones I ever payed attention to lol

Hopefully I'll be able to add The Dark Knight Rises to that list on the 20th
Supes17 - 6/28/2012, 12:18 PM
lmao watch Michael Bay get one right next to his :P
ralfinader - 6/28/2012, 12:18 PM
Well deserved. Now why someone feels the need to post Smallville pics to try and troll this article makes no sense.
GingerBird - 6/28/2012, 12:29 PM
DEFINITELY well deserved. What a stud this guy is. I highly doubt he'll be snubbed at the Oscars this year...
thewonderer - 6/28/2012, 12:30 PM
@marvel72

The Prestige is criminally underrated. Brilliant film and stands strong next to Inception, TDK, BB, and Memento.

Insomnia and Following were his first. And honestly, even for first they are incredible films.

But yeah don't leave out Prestige
moxinjc - 6/28/2012, 12:30 PM
u mad haters?!?
Garmanbozia - 6/28/2012, 12:32 PM
Very well deserved. The only thing that is missing is an Oscar, which he will no doubt receive at the next Academy Awards ceremony for The Dark Knight Rises. :-)
marvel72 - 6/28/2012, 12:40 PM
@ thewonderer
@ supes17

i watched both the prestige & insomnia on dvd,i just thought they were alright he has made better films.

they are not worthy of my blu-ray collection.
Rockstar96 - 6/28/2012, 12:47 PM
Nolan deserves it. "In Nolan We Trust!" :)
Fabius - 6/28/2012, 12:47 PM
Too soon, not enough direct movies, maybe in 10 years, ok. But talented director.
dahamma - 6/28/2012, 12:51 PM
Yeah I liked all his films except Insomnia, ironically, I fell asleep on that movie.

dahamma - 6/28/2012, 12:51 PM
And ya see? I love how no one trolls here, on a batman/nolan topic
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 6/28/2012, 1:13 PM
@IM53

The prestige is one of the Nolan movies I really don't care for. I loved Inception, Momento and his Batman movies. Insomnia was great, but I don't consider that a true Nolan movie since he didn't write it. I've seen the Prestige four times, and each time I couldn't really get into it.
breakUbatman - 6/28/2012, 1:14 PM
Prestige was the business, that movie sold me on TDK before any news about the film. Just as Inception was what sold me on TDKR.

Nice one, Insomnia is "ok" though.
BLACKTHORN - 6/28/2012, 1:15 PM
BRAVO!
Well Deserved Mr. Nolan
MaskofTengu - 6/28/2012, 2:20 PM

UrbanKnight - 6/28/2012, 3:50 PM
this is the only department WB should be involed in, marketing.
keep on pushing WB!! promote this thing like is da thang to DO!! the more success for good comic book movies the better right!!
TheWebSlinger - 6/28/2012, 3:57 PM
Good for him.

But not much of an honor anymore considering some of the scumbags they have on that "Walk of Fame".
marvel72 - 6/28/2012, 3:57 PM
@ Supes17

i can't even remember how it ends.

@ marcuskiner

you're dead right, you can get on there for your work in radio,tv,music & films.
MrReese - 6/28/2012, 3:57 PM
Congrats 2 Nolan. He deserves that shit. XD
FilmsFan - 6/28/2012, 5:07 PM
He's really an amazingly talented director!
A true genius filmmaker!

My top Nolan films:
1: INCEPTION.
2: THE DARK KNIGHT.
3: MEMENTO.
4: BATMAN BEGINS & The PRESTIGE!
5: INSOMNIA.

I think Inception was a better film than TDK... cuz of better Story!
Rest: I agree that The Prestige is soo soo brilliant film & insanely Underrated!
It blew me away!
By far the Most COMPLEX Nolan film! Inception wasn't That Complex!!
I took me 6-8 viewing to even get what's going on!
Once I got it; holy shit it's amazing!

Nolan hasn't made a bad film yet; leave a bad film; he hasn't made an average on (Insomnia was very very Good film, way above average)!
It's an Astonishing track record to keep for 13+ years of feature film career!!
Hopefully he carries on!
Hey NOLAN; don't become Cameron & lazy like him; make ur next film QUICK!!
Thanks for Entertainment & GREAT films u gave us!
Please do make a Crazy SCI-Fi film as well, a BOND film; a Romantic Thriller!!
