Geoff Boucher of the L.A. Times nabbed an interview with all of the key players of The Dark Knight Rises. In the story is a great piece about Nolan approaching Hathaway after finishing an intense scene on the University of London campus that she shared with Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman and Marion Cotillard.

His advice? Take down the supervillain intonations creeping into the dialogue, Hathaway recalled later on set, still clad in her character’s skin-tight, black battle togs. “There’s no mustache-twirling in Gotham City,” she said. “That’s why what Chris does is really special and celebrated and successful. This is not making fun of the material. It’s serious.” (Hathaway is apparently a good listener, too, her wry and savvy version of Selena has franchise producer Emma Thomas especially eager for the release; the filmmakers heard the fanboy skepticism that greeted the casting. “I can’t wait for people to see what she’s done, she’s brilliant.”

Christian Bale discusses the importance of tone and Nolan's approach on set
Bale agreed with Hathaway, adding that while Nolan’s Batman movies “have the roller-coaster element and the visual spectacle” required of any superhero film, they veer away from “the silly stuff.”

“The things he’s doing in these films, a lot of it I don’t get to see — I’m not aware of it — until I sit and watch the finished film. There’s so much there in script but it comes together when Chris editing it. He knows what it is going to be. That’s why he’s very decisive on the set. The pieces already fit together in his mind.”

Nolan being Nolan:
“We really wanted a cast of thousands, literally, and all of that for me is trying to represent the world in primarily visual and architectural terms,” Nolan said. “So the thematic idea is that the superficial positivity is being eaten away from underneath; we tried to make that quite literal.”

Yeah, like Ledger, Hathaway will demolish the skeptics. I know, cause I used to be one of them.

Some new pictures in this article, warning some might be spoilers, i'm not sure.

@ Sabconth I Agree. Let's Not Forget Tom Hardy And The Rest Of The Cast. We Never Know Someone In This Wonderful Bunch Of Talent. Might Pull Off A Performance Of The Year As Well And Get Nominated. Oh In Other News Look What I Found. Enjoy Hans Zimmer And TDKR Fans. Let's Just Say It's 24 Minutes Of A Soon To Be Masterpiece.
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 7/5/2012, 8:22 PM
I agree with the article's idea of having Ben Affleck direct the next Batman series.

Also, I love this description of Nolan for some reason:
"An English literature major who rarely leaves the house without a suit coat, he has no email account, no cellphone, and here in this digital summer of 2012, his Batman movie is the only major popcorn release shot on film stock."
Tony93 - 7/5/2012, 8:22 PM
@nailbiter
Looks almost as horrific as she did alive
Sabconth - 7/5/2012, 8:30 PM
@Tony93

Yeah Maggie looked very... jowly in Dark Knight. I think it was just the lighting though.

lunesta - 7/5/2012, 8:31 PM

LoudNoises - 7/5/2012, 8:36 PM
Finally get to see that fusion reactor thing in it's proper setting. Looks like some serious shit. If I were the one planning to steal that thing I'd take one look at that whole contraption it's attached to and be like "Yyyyyeah, this is going to be way too complicated, let's just do the joker thing and get some gas and dynamite instead." :p
lunesta - 7/5/2012, 8:37 PM
weres intruder and ilovemarvelanddc ,maximus101 they should be here by now
Sabconth - 7/5/2012, 8:43 PM

lunesta - 7/5/2012, 8:47 PM
that reactor image is pretty bad ass
Jolt17 - 7/5/2012, 8:49 PM
That second image looks deliciously hi-tech, and I like it. The prison set looks great, too. Can't wait to see it on the screen.
lunesta - 7/5/2012, 8:56 PM
nanananananananana batman
R888 - 7/5/2012, 8:57 PM

lapress - 7/5/2012, 8:59 PM
that first shot of batman looks like he lost some muscle mass
Tainted87 - 7/5/2012, 9:01 PM
I took this picture at work today

Maybe because it's July and the movie is coming out soon, but I'm suddenly getting excited about it. Hope it rocks!
JDUKE25 - 7/5/2012, 9:03 PM
@Supes!!! LMAO
95 - 7/5/2012, 9:05 PM
Neat words. C. Nolan's crafted a near-perfect trilogy. The "eight years later..." aspect is bringing us futuristic technology, which I'm excited for. Anne Hathaway (as said so many times above) will steal the show. And that last picture is probably a version of League of Shadows' (metaphorical) "healing" water (probably not referenced as the Lazarus Pits).
AsianVersionOfET - 7/5/2012, 9:06 PM
Ahhhh FOOK YEAUH!
95 - 7/5/2012, 9:07 PM
July 20. Waited four years for this.
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 7/5/2012, 9:10 PM
Chris Nolan created the Occupy Wall Street movement as the ultimate form of advertising one year prior to this films release. True story.
Minotauro - 7/5/2012, 9:11 PM
@Tainted87 - Wtf does that have to do with hype for the film?
PreparationH - 7/5/2012, 9:20 PM
Fusion reactor is just like that big ass orbital sun giant lookin mutha [frick]a at the end of Spiderman 2. The production notes says the only way it can totally stop is if its dropped in water
Bigred20 - 7/5/2012, 9:21 PM
WTF IS THAT CONTRAPTION?!
I've waited 4 years for this movie I can't believe it's only 2 weeks away!
LoudNoises - 7/5/2012, 9:21 PM
@Tainted87

I was trying to figure out what I was supposed to be looking at in that picture as well, lol. What am I missing?
YOUNGBL00D - 7/5/2012, 9:25 PM
@tainted87 WTF
LoudNoises - 7/5/2012, 9:29 PM
People need to quit reporting @yoss. I think he is pretty damn funny myself. I always laugh at the things he was reported for in the hall of shame. Lighten up people!
Sabconth - 7/5/2012, 9:33 PM
@Yoss

A nap? What are you 80?

Are you going to throw yourself on the bonfire or is that just wishful thinking on my part?
zachshivey - 7/5/2012, 9:34 PM
There goes yoss being an @sshole again
Tajin88 - 7/5/2012, 9:35 PM
AsianVersionOfET - 7/5/2012, 9:38 PM
@Tainted87, I'm so confused
Sabconth - 7/5/2012, 9:39 PM
@Tajin88

I know it's just one guy's opinion, but damn is that hype inducing.
AsianVersionOfET - 7/5/2012, 9:39 PM
@Tajin88, holy ZEUS...
95 - 7/5/2012, 9:41 PM
Quitting Batman news till July 20. I want to keep those last fifth-teen minutes "unbelievable".
Tajin88 - 7/5/2012, 9:42 PM
He updated! "You couldn't write a story like that without seeing it"
AsianVersionOfET - 7/5/2012, 9:45 PM
@3D, oh you'll try, but the almighty power of Nolan will bring you right back, believe me, I tried as well! @Tajin88, who is this guy?!
LoudNoises - 7/5/2012, 9:45 PM
@3D

I'm right there with you. However, first I want to hear some damn official reviews then I'll take a short vaca from this site to avoid any major spoilers, lol.
Sabconth - 7/5/2012, 9:46 PM
"Better than the Dark Knight is some ways. The last 15 mins are just unbelievable."

....
Tajin88 - 7/5/2012, 9:51 PM
AsianVersionOfET,

its the same guy, who released this article above. I mean this of course: Geoff Boucher of the L.A. Times
Tajin88 - 7/5/2012, 9:53 PM
Tainted87 - 7/5/2012, 9:54 PM
Sorry guys, internet went dead.

The puddle in the left-hand corner... you know how you stare at objects for a while when you're bored, and after a while you'll see whatever, like a Rorschach?

Well after a couple of hours, that puddle became the glowing Dark Knight insignia.
95 - 7/5/2012, 9:54 PM
@AsianVersionOfET

I failed as well. But of recently, I've avoided the TV spots. Couldn't believe I had that willpower. I CAN DO THIS, BROTHER!

@LoudNoises

I was going to do that too, but I've heard enough reactions by early screeners. I never read any reviews prior to BB and TDK and I came out of the theater with the exact same satisfaction as the reviewers.
AsianVersionOfET - 7/5/2012, 9:54 PM
@Tajin88, I feel...like an idiot. But thanks! And keep those tweets comin!
CaptainMaximum - 7/5/2012, 9:55 PM
July 20 happens to be my birthday, therefore I win.
95 - 7/5/2012, 9:56 PM
@Tainted87

I had a feeling that that was the TDKR reference in your picture.
