@ churchofcomics7 They wont be up until some time today, the embargo will be lifted today as well.
Minotauro - 7/15/2012, 10:59 PM
So it begins.
graveyardtramp - 7/15/2012, 10:59 PM
@churchofcomics7 - the reviews will appear online once the embargo has officially lifted, it's not uncommon for magazines etc. to supply reviews to studios before hand so they can pick quotes out (good for the movie, good publicity for the source)...
NOLANITE - 7/15/2012, 11:02 PM
NOLANITE= Living breathing NOLANITE

ROGER EBERT= MARVELITE

Heads up, Jaywings link kind of spoils the movie in the last paragraph or so.
Jaywing - 7/15/2012, 11:04 PM
Oh sorry about that! I didn't even realize
antonio - 7/15/2012, 11:05 PM
@Jaywing nah, it's alright. It's just those who might see it and have interest in reading it might be spoiled.
SuspenseSmith - 7/15/2012, 11:07 PM
If I don't make it to the theater, it'll probably be because I literally couldn't wait and imploded with anticipation.

Great to see this movie getting great reviews. And on a side note how exciting is it to have Neil Gaiman return to Sandman. This requires an immediate avatar change.

This week has been epic. All of you guys are epic. Editors are epic for filling us in with this epic news. But I think I got to take a break from this epic site before I read some epic spoilers from this epic movie. See you guys on Universal Epic Day July 20th.

I think I went too far.

As Ive said before, Nolan's Batman story is like a Marvel What If? story were the hero makes one bad decision and everything goes horribly wrong.

Everything was going right for Nolan's Batman until at some point in TDK his course was redirected to disaster.
Hard to say at what point in TDK that Batman's destiny went horribly wrong, but it would be before Rachel's death and Harvey's injury.
Perhaps the turning point was when Rachel did not stay in the office when the Joker invaded Wayne Enterprises looking for Harvey.
Or maybe it was when Bruce let Harvey claim to be Batman but Bruce coming out wouldn't be a good direction for Batman either and would be another disastrous destiny.

But most likely it was his decision to not run down and kill the Joker. Bruce inserted himself into a war. And felt he could fight the war without ever taking a life. Not a great mindset to have when fighting a war were thousands want you dead.
Ra's may have been wrong about many things but he was right about Bruce "Not being able to do what is necessary."

@nailbiter111, thank you SO much, bro. Really, you are one of my favorite contributors on this site. That first tv spot gave me HUGE goosebumps.
Vital - 7/15/2012, 11:40 PM
@darkmetal, even though I personally agree on that subject, but that's what is so great about Batman, he's uncomprisingly good, and remains to be good and won't cross that line, even if he wants to. Clear cut case of good vs evil lol.
UrbanKnight - 7/15/2012, 11:41 PM

That first trailer with that music. O M G. THIS IS GONNA BE A BATMAN MOVIE.

Maybe not in Monetary value ...at first, it wont "beat" AVENGERS. But...

GOD >>DC/NOLAN/BATMAN >MARVEL/AVENGERS.

IMO.)
darkmetal - 7/16/2012, 12:45 AM
@TicklerMan Epic fail on the misuse of that video. So I take it you disagree and feel Nolan's Batman story is a story where everything goes right? To say Nolan's Batman story is a tragic one in no way knocks it. Its just the way it is.
And if you've read the classic Marvel "What If?" you should know what I mean by comparing it to those stories.

Also, though TDKR is going to be great, majestic, epic etc., as TheMarvelite said, nothing is bringing down the Avengers this year.

TDKR will do between 450 million to 550 million. The Hunger Games is at 400 million, and since it was not in 3-D, it gives a better example of what TDKR is capable of in 2012. TDKR is going to outdo that film obviously and by how much may depend on how big TDKR opening weekend may be.
Scooby - 7/16/2012, 12:51 AM
TDK made more than 900 million. So your prediction is a fail.
Scooby - 7/16/2012, 12:58 AM
I didn't know you can see in to the future . . . pretty cool.
darkmetal - 7/16/2012, 12:59 AM
@TheMarvelite I guess you mean 900 million World Wide. It will do at least 1.4 billion WW I think.
It just can't match Avengers though. The Avengers was just such a fun blast for people, that it had lots of repeat business and drew people in that normally wouldnt see Super hero films.

It was what Star Wars in '77 mustve been, a fantastic, fun ride, you wanted to ride again and again.

If it had been released 1-2 months earlier, before the summer competition arrived, it may have outdone Avatar. It would be number 2 if Titanic 3-D's numbers were not added to Titanic. Adding Special Edition numbers to the original is like adding a remakes numbers to the original. 2 different movies get to look like 1.
inky - 7/16/2012, 1:02 AM
what more hype for this movie omg realy Dc / Warner dont you have any faith in its ability to sell or what.
buy the time you view all the trailers and clips youve seen the best of it so why waste money going to the cinima to fill in the gaps.
as for DC winning please note they lost already, no build up for real JL movie and if they do one now it will be knee jerk reaction movie to The Avengers.
brokeBatman - 7/16/2012, 1:06 AM
@TicklerMan -lol yessir.
@SirWinsalot -fa sho.
