Lebron James Wants To Star In SPACE JAM 2! Which Other NBA Players Should Appear?

You can bet that Warner Bros. executives are in a giddy mood today after finding out that Lebron James has interest in making a sequel to Michael Jordan's hit film, Space Jam.

In 1996, Michael Jordan and fellow NBA players Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson and Shawn Bradley were featured in Space Jams. A movie that combined live action basketball stars with Looney Tunes stars, like Bugs Bunny, Tweet Bird, Porky Pig and newcomer Lola Bunny. The iconic cartoon characters, with the help of Michael Jordan defeated an alien race, the Monstars, in a basketball game with high stakes. Well the internet is buzzing today because superstar basketball player Lebron "King" James tweeted that he'd like to be in a sequel.




Keep in mind that Warner Bros. currently doesn't have Space Jam 2 in development, but when one of the most popular athletes in all of sports says he has interest, movie executives take notice.

So let's say this project does get off the ground. Which current NBA players do you think should be included in the film?

Space Jam 2 should be with Football. The MonStars (or whoever is their equivalent bad guys) can kidnap and brainwash Peyton Manning and the Tune Squad will get Eli to try to rescue his brother.

WB should get the team that worked on Happy Feet to do an updated version of the Looney Toons. The teaser could show all the changes to Bugs Bunny from black and white to the new show. Then end with the new cg version turning to the camera "What's up doc?"

Here's an idea. Screw the athletes and bring in people who can actually act and writers who actually remember the humor that went into the old Looney Tunes shows. The 'new' cartoon they have on Cartoon Network causes enough brain damage anyway.

Say what you will, Space Jam was a gem. It combined the real life events of Jordan's switch from basketball to baseball and back again, with the return of the Looney Tunes after years of teases with Tiny Toons and such, a slew of basketball greats, and some cool cameos (c'mon, Newman and Bill Murray). Of course I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the killer soundtrack. Just like I feel that Rocky 4 was blessed by the 80's, so to do I feel that Space Jam was blessed by the 90's (and no I'm not literally comparing those movies). I'd say I'd like to see a Space Jam 2, but I don't know that they could capture that again. I'd see it though.

Like some others said, bring on parker, duncan, and ginobili!!! plus id be awesome if jordan appeared, even if it was in a cameo or something.
