Most fans of Christopher Nolan's Batman universe were hoping that in the third film the Caped Crusader would finally have a physical challenge, and with Tom Hardy's Bane, he did. One of the many highlights of The Dark Knight Rises was the much anticipated showdown between the two. And even though Batman (Christian Bale) puts up an honorable effort, it is Bane who comes out on top. Most of us could've guessed that Bane would break Batman's back, like he did in the comics, but it still was a jarring site to actually see. Relive the epic sewer fight with these amazing behind-the-scenes photos.






The Dark Knight Rises will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download on December 4th. The film stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John "Robin" Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate/Talia al Ghul.

From a cinematography standpoint that is the best scene in the film. The lighting and camera work are excellent.

Easily my favorite scene from the entire trilogy, it was just amazing with no music just screams and grunts and the most bad ass villain monologue i have ever heard... bravo.

@Azazel1, couldn't disagree more, the fight scenes were terrible in this film. Don't get me wrong, I love Batman, but nothing was 'epic' about this.
Dark knight returns, a massive disappointed, IMO (and I hate using acronyms) obviously

OMG!

Some of the images are iconic!
Water, lighting & position of both character in few images are amazing!

Few of them are just too good to be a set shot, it looks like its all was created for Photoshoot but it's real!

Bane & BATMAN are amazing in these images!

Hardy is a mediocre pudge. He is nothing like Bane should be. Ruined the character.

This is far and away the best fight scene in ANY cbm! It was exactly what a brawl between these two should be like. Marvelites will hate because there wasn't a fancy vibrating shield or aliens but it was everything I wanted and more from this brawl. PERFECT!

Im sorry, that scene was lit well, but the shots were boring and had no build or tension. It just was flat.

@SLK Couldn't DISAGREE more. Hardy was amazing in the film. Every time he stepped into a scene I had chills going down my spine. All the people that complained about his height shut up after they saw the film, because he looked [frick]ing intimidating.

Not a bad sequence at all. Batman was soundly thrashed as he should have been against Bane. Sure Captain America would have dropped Bane in seconds.

I loved this scene, and the movie, gotta admit. But honestly, Bane was not that terrifying to me. Yes, he was cunning and smart and outplayed Batman in parts, but in terms of "evilness" or "badness", he wasn't really that much of a "villain." I think that's just me though.

I never liked Nolans fight scenes in the Batman Trilogy. Especially In Batman Begins. I couldn't tell WTF was going on.

It shouldve had a feel like you're watching Bruce Lee get beaten in a real fight. Batman was supposed to be a Master but he fought like a common untrained thug. In fact even the worst MMA fighters wouldve beaten him. Bane never fought well, he simply didnt feel pain.
So the Master VS. Badass fight was reduced to aged, overrated, broken down guy VS. a dumbass who only wins because he doesnt feel pain and no one thinks to take out his knees, eyes or throat.
Nolan's Batman was an amateur. And he got his ass beat more than Kick-Ass.

Nice pics. Almost every cbm fight scene was great except for Iron Man 2 scenes. Anyway... No pic of Bane holding Bats over his head. Damn.....To the trolls. Troll on brothers and sisters. But it won't change nothing!
