Her, Heath and Tom are examples of castings everyone hated but ended up doing phenomenal jobs in the end.

Hathaway did a TREMENDOUS job as Selina Kyle in this movie. It was great to finally see a Catwoman that was true to the spirit of the character-- who wasn't a schizophrenic dominatrix with identity issues, but rather a driven, self-reliant woman who'd just been hardened by a cruel and callous world (but who was none the less slinky and seductive as hell).

Say what you will about The Dark Knight Rises as a whole, but Hathaway's Catwoman was a masterstroke-- right up there with Ledger's Joker, IMO.

I love and adore her act as Catwoman and all the dedication that she did for the part. Nolan want her to did the fight sequence for herself and she prepared herself physically and mentally also work close with the fight choreographer and stunt woman, training for 3 months before the shot!

Yeah, try to watch the movie again when this come out on Blu, you'll see and appreciate her effort and dedication again and again to look convincingly on screen.

I was one of those people who was skeptical of Anne at first, but I was happily proven wrong with her performance. She did great!

I never had doubts about Nolan's casting and I expected Hathaway to be great and. I was hoping for some more ass shots though.
People were actually saying Pfieffers cartoon Catwoman would be better than Hathaway's, what a laugh that turned out to be.
Levitt was the real surprise to me. He was better than I thought he would be.

Well, for one, I don't owe you an explanation.

I'm a DC Fan.

However, I'll enlighten you (but you need to stop resorting to name calling). I took NOMIS' back when everyone on this site was jumping down his backside for hating XM:FC and Bryan Singer. Now, I don't feel as strongly as he does, and I did find some enjoyment in those movies. But, he is entitled to his opinion.

And, he genuinely loves this movie for almost every reason that he hates Bryan Singers (it strays from the comics, costumes aren't up to snuff, etc). But, he is being honest, MARVEL fan and all, he LOVES this movie. And, yes I find that to be hilarious.

It's his slogan, he uses it all the time, and it is funny.

This movie sucked, not faithfull at all to Bat's story(8 years off and fake robin were my biggest problems, but certainly not the only). And to all the nutgrabbers still bowing in worship to this trainwreck of a movie, get over it. Get the kool aid out of your system, grow up, read some actual bats books. Btw catwoman sucked too. She does not work on a movie screen. She only works in comics because the patient pacing of comic story telling allows for all the catwoman bs. But when you only have afew hours to work with, catwoman's sexy slinky crap brings all the action to a screeching hault. Rotten socialist stole his mom's pearls, stole his car, sold him out to bane...and he still 'saw good in her'?...WTF

Anybody who trashes Anne Hathaway's performance as Selina Kyle is a major hater. She has the great reviews to back-up her performance. To be fair I enjoyed both Catwomen, Michelle Pfeiffer's and Hathaway's. But, Anne's version is more true to the comic books, so that is why she is my favorite version to date.

Their is nothing Hathaway cannot do. A couple of weeks ago, she was good , hosting the very tough SNL ( even with bad writing). , and this tv season she did a better hosting job than Louis CK and Daniel Craig ( her impressions of Katie Holmes & Claire Danes from Homeland were wonderful ) . I've seen Sean Penn & Robert De Niro bomb horribly , trying to host SNL. It is not an easy task, and Hathaway rose to the occasion.

Anne is already getting good notices for Les Miserables , and many insiders are predicting her to receive her second Oscar nomination.

ashley judd & nicole kidman were also considered for the catwoman role but halle berry got it.both of them also would of made a better catwoman than anne hathaway.

nolan should of cast cotillard as catwoman a much better & sexier actress than hathaway,well apart from the lame death scene.

In my opinion, Nolans Catwoman was medicore. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either. Hathaway did good job, but she didn't steal the show or anything. Michelle Pfeiffer did a much stronger and memorable performance as Catwoman. I actually think that Levitt and Hardy did the best job in TDKR.

I also didn't like Nolans Catwoman suit. I don't like that 60s domino-mask look, or the stilettos. Catwoman has much better looking and much more realistic suits than that, and we've never seen them on film. I think that Catwoman should always wear a cowl and regular boots. It makes much more sense for a physical fighter and cat-burglar. Also, I'd rather see her use a whip as a weapon than razor-sharp stilettos.

I wasn't very happy about her story either. The search for a magical program to clean her slate didn't interrest me that much, so I would have liked to see something else. I don't think she was that necessary for the main plot either, so I would have liked for her to have more impact.

I also didn't like seeing Catwoman kill so many people. Self-defense or not, she should be able to take care of herself without using leathal force, like Batman does. It just felt very out of character for me.

I also didn't like the fact there really wasn't any Catwoman. She was just Selina Kyle the cat-burglar, and she didn't have that secret identity. I think that's an importand part of the character. Its her calling-card. If Bruce Wayne can be Batman, then Selina Kyle can be Catwoman.

There we're some good stuff too. Hathaway and Bale had great chemistry, Selina had some fun moments and it was nice to finally see her as a thief. It was a step in the right direction, but at the same time, it just wasn't that well executed. It wasn't good enough. Maybe if they could combine stuff from Burtons and Nolans versions, then it could be a great Catwoman.

@HalloweenJack: Tim Burton's catwoman is all that is wrong with "string independent women" because all she is there for is so boys can drool all over their TV set and DVDs because she's wearing some S&M outfit. Plus, apparently cat-magic is very strong in Gotham 'cause these cats can bring people back to life apparently. Burton is a very visual storyteller but his batman films age baaaaaaaaaaaaaadly.
