Umm why was this deleted?
QuestiontheAnswer - 1/28/2014, 9:41 AM
Shit movie.
Odin - 1/28/2014, 9:41 AM
So Frigga in the Dungeon wasn't just an illusion that Loki made for him self, at least wouldn't have been if this scene had made to final cut.
GodzillaKart - 1/28/2014, 9:42 AM
@Bravado: I had something to say about that deleted scene...but I seem to have forgotten what I was thinking about. Nice gif.
MrNiklander - 1/28/2014, 9:42 AM
@McNyagano Well we couldn't afford a two and a half hour film now could we?!
GodzillaKart - 1/28/2014, 9:43 AM
Odin: I had wondered the same thing. It was unclear in the final cut.
GodzillaKart - 1/28/2014, 9:45 AM
T:TDW was a solid CBM. Perhaps the best of 2013. Poor MOS was like the #1 ranked team that chokes in the first round of the playoffs.
charlie2094 - 1/28/2014, 9:45 AM
Why wasn't this in the film? Get they want to keep it short to maximise screenings, but they really sacrificed quality by making them shorter, this was part of what Thor 2 needed, film felt like a huge chunk was missing...
JuanCobble - 1/28/2014, 9:48 AM
THOR:TDW Oh, mom just died... we are so sorry, but whats next? can we make a joke in the next scene?
CaptShipwreck - 1/28/2014, 9:49 AM
I personally thought Thor's poncho had more charisma than then the entire man of steel movie
SauronsBANE - 1/28/2014, 9:56 AM
Great scene! It definitely would've made her death that much more emotional, for both characters. Despite the criticisms, this was a great movie. Probably the best CBM of 2013, in my opinion.
wcwpoet - 1/28/2014, 9:57 AM
That was a good scene it should've stayed in.
ATrueHero1987 - 1/28/2014, 9:58 AM
Good scene but im not mad that it didn't make the final cut.
Now THIS extended scene right here should've been in the final cut of the first Thor movie!
nailbiter111 - 1/28/2014, 9:58 AM
Thor 2: first half was dreadful (way too jokey), but it starts to come to life after Frigga is killed.
DefcoN - 1/28/2014, 10:02 AM
It's a shame it didn't make the cut. Again, why is MS not making this Bluray release an extended edition is beyond me.
DestroyerofHaters - 1/28/2014, 10:06 AM
We want a director's cut!
We want a director's cut!
SauronsBANE - 1/28/2014, 10:07 AM
@ nailbiter, Did you enjoy Iron Man 3 despite all the jokes? Compared to that, I thought Thor 2 was much more toned down in terms of the comedy and humor. Sure, Darcy's ridiculously annoying, but we knew that from the first film already. I thought Alan Taylor really balanced the humor and more dramatic moments, more so than Iron Man 3.
Shaanyboi - 1/28/2014, 10:08 AM
It baffles me some of the scenes they've cut out. There are great scenes in the original Thor, Cap's uncomfortable look at the city around him in Avengers, and now this... Honestly, some of them should not have been cut.
NeoBaggins - 1/28/2014, 10:09 AM
Best part of the movie was Frigga and the Frigga scenes(s) with Loki- Hiddlston's best performance since THOR. Realistically (Ironic, I know), he should be treated as an irredeemable murderer instead of a guy that might have snatched a couple purses, but I enjoyed the drama and depth before the, um, fun resumed.
nailbiter111 - 1/28/2014, 10:18 AM
SauronsBANE1 - Most of the jokey-ness in Iron Man 3 comes from Tony Stark/Robert Downey Jr., so it is fairly natural. Notice I say, "fairly" natural. It does go over the line of even Tony's personality, but you live with that when you have RDJ playing someone. Now with Thor 2, too many characters are trying to land one-liners in that first half. The "forced" humor was being squeezed through a meat grinder like a big fat slab of sausage.
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 1/28/2014, 10:20 AM
Darcy really ruined this movie once again for me. I've already began editing my own cut of the film, in which she is not featured.
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 1/28/2014, 10:21 AM
@Shaanyboi Joss cut Cap's scenes (Yes, there was plenty more beyond the deleted scenes), because he knew it better fit The Winter Soldier.
Ramiel - 1/28/2014, 10:22 AM
Yea, they should have definitely left this scene in the movie.
m0th3r - 1/28/2014, 10:26 AM
Is that the first true MCU reference to "Magic"...loki used illusions during first movie, but never called it magic...
SauronsBANE - 1/28/2014, 10:29 AM
Definitely fair enough, nail. To me, most of Stark's jokes were way over the top compared to the humor that was in Thor 2, mostly caused by Loki's antics and Thor's reactions. I pretty much tuned Darcy, and to some extent Jane, out so her one-liners didn't bother me as much.
GodzillaKart - 1/28/2014, 10:30 AM
@NeoBaggins: "he should be treated as an irredeemable murderer instead of a guy that might have snatched a couple purses".

That, as well as some of Odin's other actions, showed that he really does think of humans as far less relevant than Asgardians.
GodzillaKart - 1/28/2014, 10:31 AM
Darcy's humor is [frick]ing great. One of the best parts of the MCU, IMO.
Custer28 - 1/28/2014, 10:37 AM
Terrible movie! worse than Iron Man 3 which was another Crap.
MrAisA - 1/28/2014, 10:41 AM
Definitely should have kept that one in.
SageMode - 1/28/2014, 10:43 AM
I really hope Darcy gets cut from the sequel, or she dies at the VERY beginning.
JediSuperGuy83 - 1/28/2014, 10:46 AM
Better Than Iron Man 3 and Natalie Was Smoking Hot in This film also

Thor> OVERRATED LOKI

A great scene doesn't necessarily make a movie better. It might mess up the pace or reiterate some points we the audience already understand.

I really liked TDW, and much of the comments on humor is overstated. However, I do think Darcy was an issue. I don't mind her humor or acting, but she's only there for comic relief. I really like the idea of her being Enchantress because it adds a purpose to her in the story.
kevberg - 1/28/2014, 11:09 AM
I think this was a great scene for what it was, but anyone saying"THOR didnt give a F@hk " didn't seem to pay attention.

How many chances should he give Loki? Its PERFECTLY understandable that hes given up on Loki ( even though thats not even true-- as he worked with him through out the later part of T:TDW)
JorL5150 - 1/28/2014, 11:15 AM
I'd like some of friggas milfy motherlyove
superotherside - 1/28/2014, 11:44 AM
This should have been in the film. I hate it now days seems they cut out all the good stuff. Makes the movies feel way too rushed.
Melkaticox - 1/28/2014, 11:49 AM
I think we all should agree that none of 2013's movies were great. Every single one of them had issues, including Thor 2 (the humor).

Thor 2 made more money than Man of Steel, though...
BasedThanos - 1/28/2014, 11:51 AM
Why was this scene deleted??? [frick]ing Feige wanted a 1hr50min laughter fest that's why. Totally screwed Alan Taylor out of making a truly great film.
Darcy ruined the ending for me. Why filmmakers always feel the need to interrupt a great ending fight scene with stupid shit baffles me.
