Growing up in Gotham City’s surrounding suburbs, JAMES GORDON (Ben McKenzie, “Southland,” “The O.C.”) romanticized the city as a glamorous and exciting metropolis where his late father once served as a successful district attorney. Now, two weeks into his new job as a Gotham City detective and engaged to his beloved fiancée, BARBARA KEAN (Erin Richards, “Open Grave,” “Breaking In”), Gordon is living his dream – even as he hopes to restore the city back to the pure version he remembers it was as a kid. Brave, honest and ready to prove himself, the newly-minted detective is partnered with the brash, but shrewd police legend HARVEY BULLOCK (Donal Logue, “Sons of Anarchy,” “Terriers,” “Vikings,” “Copper”), as the two stumble upon the city’s highest-profile case ever: the murder of local billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne. At the scene of the crime, Gordon meets the sole survivor: the Waynes’ hauntingly intense 12-year-old son, BRUCE (David Mazouz, “Touch”), toward whom the young detective feels an inexplicable kinship. Moved by the boy’s profound loss, Gordon vows to catch the killer. As he navigates the often-underhanded politics of Gotham’s criminal justice system, Gordon will confront imposing gang boss FISH MOONEY (Jada Pinkett Smith, “The Matrix” films, “HawthoRNe,” “Collateral”), and many of the characters who will become some of fiction’s most renowned, enduring villains, including a teenaged SELINA KYLE/the future CATWOMAN (acting newcomer Camren Bicondova) and OSWALD COBBLEPOT/THE PENGUIN (Robin Lord Taylor, “The Walking Dead,” “Another Earth”). Although the crime drama will follow Gordon’s turbulent and singular rise through the Gotham City police department, led by Police Captain SARAH ESSEN (Zabryna Guevara, “Burn Notice”), it also will focus on the unlikely friendship Gordon forms with the young heir to the Wayne fortune, who is being raised by his unflappable butler, ALFRED (Sean Pertwee, “Camelot,” “Elementary”). It is a friendship that will last them all of their lives, playing a crucial role in helping the young boy eventually become the crusader he’s destined to be. GOTHAM is based upon characters published by DC Comics and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Executive producer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist”) wrote the pilot, which will be directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the “CSI” series, “Nikita”).

Interestein - 3/17/2014, 1:00 PM
But anyways, this show sounds like shit so far, hope I'm wrong.
DanteMcFarlane - 3/17/2014, 1:00 PM

anyone else think this show is completely pointless and a major step in the wrong direction
TheManFromMars - 3/17/2014, 1:02 PM
He just needs to wear one of these and the problem is fixed
WAYNE - 3/17/2014, 1:05 PM
Im obviously an avid batman fan and who doesnt know that Gordon didnt start out in Gotham. He transferred from Chicago. so this show is already pointless

Also i can understand slightly a younger Gordon not having a mustache but what did his eyes just get that bad with age? No glasses?

This show seems to be a waste of tape
npamusic - 3/17/2014, 1:05 PM
NO GLASSES AND MUSTACHE?! WTF.
Mendenhall12 - 3/17/2014, 1:07 PM
Weird seeing Gordon without the Mustache.
Optimus83 - 3/17/2014, 1:10 PM
This is Ben McKenzie. ...Not Jim Gordon
SaxoWolf - 3/17/2014, 1:11 PM
bring moustache back!

JamesMan - 3/17/2014, 1:12 PM
Are people hating this because it's not connected to the DCCU? That's the only reason to say it's pointless because if it's for another reason, calling it pointless is redundant since in that case every goddamn tv show is pointless.
henchmen - 3/17/2014, 1:14 PM
Commenters on this sight....sigh.....seriously?...we're worried about glasses or mustache on a young man?

How about charisma? Storyline? Drama? Action? Is it entertaining?

Facial hair and poor eyesight can come with age. We don't need it for the pilot episode.
Zordan - 3/17/2014, 1:14 PM
hell grow it eventually. [frick] the stache on young fella
jimoakley666 - 3/17/2014, 1:14 PM
So. Bruce Wayne is a child. And it's set in the here and now.

sigh

No thanks.
DrRockit13 - 3/17/2014, 1:15 PM
They shoulda had Jeramy Irons as Alfred to tie into the DCCU.
SuperCat - 3/17/2014, 1:17 PM
Get 'em, Jim!
GentlemanlyBatman - 3/17/2014, 1:17 PM
meh... I'll reserve (most) judgement until I see the first episode.
MercwithMouth - 3/17/2014, 1:17 PM
Nothing exciting here, just like every other tidbit from this show. Can't wrap my head around Jada Pinkett-Smith as a lead villain. It boggles the mind...
Pasto - 3/17/2014, 1:18 PM
Don't drop the soap [racial slur].
SonOfStarKiller - 3/17/2014, 1:19 PM
This is a Gordon that's about 20 yrs younger than the one that's most of us recognize. He doesn't have to have a stash or wear glasses yet. Things like that usually come with age. I would say don't judge the show before seeing it but this is CBM.com, the place where people come to judge.

He's too young for the role. Gordon was ALWAYS grizzled and weathered. Even as a kid.

DrunkenNukem - 3/17/2014, 1:22 PM
@Sid....MGS V ground zeroes coming out tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TheFox - 3/17/2014, 1:22 PM
NO MUSTACHE?!?!?!?

How on God's green Earth is that supposed to be Jim Gordon if he doesn't have a goddamn MUSTACHE?!? Even Gary Oldman's patrolman Gordon from Batman Begins had a damn mustache!!!

I won't stand for this mockery of a comic book icon! GOTHAM, YOU JUST MADE THE LIST.

JatevinM - 3/17/2014, 1:22 PM
WAYNE@ Thats generally what happens your eyes get worse its not like youre born needing glasses. Plus you dont know if he transfers in the first episode or not.
TheFox - 3/17/2014, 1:23 PM
(Also, yeah, this looks pretty damn dull and generic. I know I should wait for the pilot to be released before I judge it, but this show isn't exactly winning me over...)

Nubase - 3/17/2014, 1:28 PM
this show will be cool, it won't just attract comic books fans but fans of the police/detective genre which has a huge following. fox knows what they are doing
Shaanyboi - 3/17/2014, 1:28 PM
People can grow mustaches
Peoples' eyes worsen with age

Chill...
Omarvls - 3/17/2014, 1:29 PM
I got a feeling this show is going to be GREAT
WAYNE - 3/17/2014, 1:29 PM
youre right about that @JatevinM so i do retract my statement on the glasses but I still say/hope he's from chicago
AC1 - 3/17/2014, 1:31 PM
[frick] YOU FOX YOU [frick]ING SHITS! EVERYONE KNOWS GORDON WAS BORN WITH A MUSTACHE! AND EVERY REAL BATMAN FAN KNOWS GORDON HAD THOSE GLASSES IN THE WOMB! WORST SHOW EVER!!!

Just kidding.
suitekid - 3/17/2014, 1:31 PM
How can you guys tell if it's generic and dull based on some pictures of a dude with a gun running?
AC1 - 3/17/2014, 1:31 PM
Could be good, but not particularly interested in the show at this point in time.
Nick56 - 3/17/2014, 1:33 PM
Lol everybody seems to be overreacting. I have way more interest in Constantine and Flash but if this keeps a dark tone and really explores gordon's character then it could be good.
DatScarletPimPerNeLL - 3/17/2014, 1:33 PM
RELAX PEOPLE! They want to ground it in realism...They'll start off with some face paint above his lip and if it does well enough, by season 2, I won't be surprised if we'll finally get the real 'stache!!
MercwithMouth - 3/17/2014, 1:35 PM
@suite

Don't you know CBM users are clairvoyant?

I hope the show is good, I really do. But judging on what little we know... Casting decisions, character profiles, and that spoileriffic (if true) pilot synopsis... Nothing shows promise just yet.
BatmanFTW - 3/17/2014, 1:37 PM
@DatScarletPimPerNell I laughed way too hard at that comment ha
