In the Gotham television show, Harvey Bullock will be a Detective of the Gotham Police department. He'll be Jim Gordon's "rough-around-the-edges partner and mentor. Plays loose with police procedure, but he gets results... and he does it with old-school, forceful panache." Bullock's first appearance was in Detective Comics #441 (June 1974). He was portrayed a corrupt detective that was instructed by Gotham City's Mayor Hamilton Hill to foul-up Jim Gordon's investigations by making mistakes and being careless" on purpose. Over the decades, there's been several different takes on the character. Sometimes he is portrayed as good, other times he's corrupt. Sometimes he is shrewd while other times he is oafish. As for Batman, Harvey usually is depicted as a staunch opponent of The Dark Knight, but that too has not always been the case.

Growing up in Gotham City’s surrounding suburbs, JAMES GORDON (Ben McKenzie, “Southland,” “The O.C.”) romanticized the city as a glamorous and exciting metropolis where his late father once served as a successful district attorney. Now, two weeks into his new job as a Gotham City detective and engaged to his beloved fiancée, BARBARA KEAN (Erin Richards, “Open Grave,” “Breaking In”), Gordon is living his dream – even as he hopes to restore the city back to the pure version he remembers it was as a kid.

Brave, honest and ready to prove himself, the newly-minted detective is partnered with the brash, but shrewd police legend HARVEY BULLOCK (Donal Logue, “Sons of Anarchy,” “Terriers,” “Vikings,” “Copper”), as the two stumble upon the city’s highest-profile case ever: the murder of local billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne. At the scene of the crime, Gordon meets the sole survivor: the Waynes’ hauntingly intense 12-year-old son, BRUCE (David Mazouz, “Touch”), toward whom the young detective feels an inexplicable kinship. Moved by the boy’s profound loss, Gordon vows to catch the killer.

KrazyForKomix - 3/20/2014, 10:15 AM
MY loaf SHOULD have stayed in the bag.
McGee - 3/20/2014, 10:16 AM
Thankfully this is only a prequel, otherwise I'd complain he wasn't fat enough. Harvey is as American as Type 2 Diabetes.
MercwithMouth - 3/20/2014, 10:16 AM
So far, Donal is the only positive this show has. Everything about this show screams "cancelled". Especially JadaFish... She's a horrid actress.
BatManiac - 3/20/2014, 10:17 AM
He's the decent looking character in the show so far. Still, it's not going to be enough to save this crapfest.
TheClemster - 3/20/2014, 10:17 AM
I. don't. understand. the. loafs. jokes!!!!

Will someone educate me???
McGee - 3/20/2014, 10:18 AM

Enphlieuwince - 3/20/2014, 10:24 AM
Looks good. Batmaniac will not be pleased. He's been a total grif about this series so far...
Enphlieuwince - 3/20/2014, 10:25 AM
Oh, he's already chimed in. Lol...
MisterPL - 3/20/2014, 10:26 AM
Yeah, what's with the bat signal?
MantiniumMan - 3/20/2014, 10:28 AM
@Sumitsjc

Good spot,I just noticed the Bat Signal.

As for the look,I can dig but if the show is SMALLVILLE light and not GOTHAM gritty,I wont be watching, but if its gritty and the opposite of SMALLVILLE,I will have to check it out.
TelaVizion - 3/20/2014, 10:28 AM
"GROUNDED FOR LIFE" SON!!!!!!!!!
Minato - 3/20/2014, 10:30 AM
So I guess Gordon is going to borrow Bullocks mustache for the season finale.

Kyos - 3/20/2014, 10:31 AM
I like him! The bat signal makes no sense at all, though, does it?!
loki668 - 3/20/2014, 10:31 AM
Yeah, what was Jada's character name? Fish Taco or something?
rebellion - 3/20/2014, 10:31 AM
well i'm not the only one wondering about a signal... maybe it's just to make general public aware of the fact that it's a batman's world
Mastyrwerk - 3/20/2014, 10:32 AM
It's weird with the facial hair. This will probably mean Gordon won't have a stache.
BlackIceJoe - 3/20/2014, 10:32 AM
Well I am happy to see they are at least going for the better version of Harvey in this show. The only thing weird is he's older then Gordon.
Arrowhead77 - 3/20/2014, 10:36 AM
The batsignal is probably so the average joe can associate this show with the Batman universe. Dont freak out people.
MercwithMouth - 3/20/2014, 10:38 AM
Why a bat-signal? Fox is [frick]ing up already...
MarkV - 3/20/2014, 10:42 AM
So he's basically going to be 90 years old by the time Batman dons the cowl.

That's an....interesting twist, I guess.
yonny616 - 3/20/2014, 10:45 AM
People seem to forget that Batman: The Animated series originally aired on Fox.
loki668 - 3/20/2014, 10:46 AM
AHHHHH!!!!!!!!! CROSS-DRESSING BIEBER!!! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!
MercwithMouth - 3/20/2014, 10:46 AM
@Gusto

Do we really need another horrible actress?
Tony93 - 3/20/2014, 10:49 AM
its a light signal but not the bat-signal
loki668 - 3/20/2014, 10:50 AM
It's not the bat-signal, it's uh........the um.......the BULLOCK signal! Yeah! That's what it is.........the Bullock signal................you guys THOUGHT that it was the bat-signal but that would be STUPID because, as they said, this ISN'T a Batman show.
Dedpool - 3/20/2014, 10:57 AM
I like the look. Very Noir-ish, much like the Batman:TAS. If they keep that vibe this should be a very good show.
Darktower - 3/20/2014, 10:59 AM
damn those tiny hard nips!
