Sophie Turner Will Play FRANKENSTEIN Author In MARY SHELLEY'S MONSTER

The Game Of Thrones actress is set to portray the influential author, who penned the tale of one of the most iconic fictional monsters in history at the age of just 20. She'll be joined by Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) and Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story).

The lovely Sophie Turner (Sansa in Game Of Thrones) has signed on to play iconic 19th century author Mary Shelley in a film detailing her early life and progress as she sets out to write the legendary novel, Frankenstein, while being "drawn into a Faustian bargain with her own “monster” of an alter ego, who offers literary fame at a desperate personal cost." It definitely sounds as if we're in for a slightly more exciting take on the standard biography, as producer Rose Ganguzza explains:

“[It is] the story of the most extraordinary 19th century teenage heroine told in a visceral, sexy, contemporary way. Our film is not a period drama. It is a story of youth that transcends time, a gothic romance, a love triangle that involves a dark passenger and we are tremendously excited to have such an exciting cast onboard this wonderful project.”

Mary Shelley's Monster will also star Jeremy Irvine as Mary's husband and poet Percy, and Taissa Farmiga as her stepsister, Claire Clairmont. Coky Giedroyc (Penny Dreadful) will direct, from a script by Deborah Baxtrom.

HHmmmm. Could be good. I think Sophie is a great actress. I will have to wait before I give any opinions or judgement. I hope it is not a straight chick flick though. Time will tell.

...So there's one about the author and one adapting the actually story with Radcliffe?
CherryBomb - 8/13/2014, 6:01 AM

Does anyone else cringe when they hear the word 'contemporary' thrown around all these remakes and reboots? Maybe it's just me. Sounds like they're going to 'Twilight' it too.

She can poop on my chest
Nubase - 8/13/2014, 1:07 PM
She will have a big career in film, she needs to move onto the big screen once GOT is over, l'm sure she planning it with this movie to begin with
cronnyberg - 8/13/2014, 4:33 PM
She's 20? I thought I was weird for fancying her because she's playing such a young character on GOT..... Only a year younger than me..... thank God for that :|
cronnyberg - 8/13/2014, 4:36 PM
oh wait; the author was 20, Sophie Turner is 18... still not weird though :D Half your age plus 7 is the cutoff point lol
Enki - 8/13/2014, 5:12 PM
Sophie Turner needs to be the next Mary Jane Watson.
Enki - 8/13/2014, 7:46 PM
Is this film also going to feature Lord Byron and John Polidori?
