COMICS: Marvel's Next Big Cross-Over Event Is INFINITY

Along with Thanos Rising, Marvel seem to be pumping out the Thanos related stories to prepare fans for the big guy's upcoming cinematic appearances. This May 4th, on Free Comic Book Day, Jonathan Hickman and Jim Cheung will bring us Infinity..

I said that after Age Of Ultron, I wouldn't buy anymore Marvel Crossovers/Events. I would wait until it's in TPB....but if Hickman is doing it, then's it's a first day purchase for me!

Cheung is illustrating this series or just that cover? If he is illustrating the series then i will definitely try picking this up. Never read anything hes done that i didnt like, his art is always very complimentary to a story and for me enhances it. Just not sure i like seeing all the heroes in their "new" outfits.

i hope that they not going used these new story of thanos for the avengers movie in just the case marvel need to bring back the other charcter from other studios but if they smart they can used dr.strange cross over to grab them from others studiotofight thanos that be a for marvel to bring back they character home be smart marvel save thanos for phase 3 not 2 its to soon for thanos phase should be infinity gauntlet be smart marvel.

Down for all things Thanos! But i'm hoping that this has to do with more cosmic Marvel than just earth so i can see the freaking Annihilators again! Best. Team. Ever.

We should have all seen this coming...they were setting up something big with this Thanos prequel comic and of course they would want to get his face on the shelves if they're going to use him as the main villain. Something tells me Marvel was a bit disappointed at how small the amount of people were who could recognize Thanos at the end of The Avengers. They seemed to have put a plan into action very quick to educate the masses of the badass that is Thanos. I for one don't mind..i love the character and i love that he brings out everyone for battle. Infinity gems, Avengers, X-Men, Inhumans, GOTG, other cosmic players, Jonathon Hickman, Jim Cheung?

@ComradGrey No, Now comics exist to make as much money as possible. Coherent storytelling as an art seems to be going the way of the dinosaurs.

I think it makes sense to advertise for the next crossover before the previous (AoU) is even out, because Marvel is accelerating the shipping schedules for these things. By having a 12 part story come out in 3-4 weeks, you kind of have to be ahead of the advertising curve.

@pheezmatic what i was saying since they will be bringing out dr.strange movie this will be a good opportunity to used him to bring the the other character from the other studios back to marvel this where you used strange and some how bring in warlock in this if they want him in it im old school infinity gauntlet was one the great marvel comic came out doing that time they need to do this the right way so far they are this could be the best thing to do i see what they are doing used thanos for phase 3 go out with a bang build thanos up until phase 3

All they seem to care about anymore is new readers and instant gratification. They are still making some good comics but theyve been making an unbelievable amount of bad ones, worst of all using grand characters in small and terrible ways (anybody regrettably remember Onslaught Unleashed?) like when they brought Thanos AND GOTG back in Avengers Assemble without having any regard for Thanos Imperative! I hate how the movies have ruined the comics and I for one am glad I read from a friends library. I wouldnt trust investing my money in these jokers.

Yesh, to soon to advertise the next big event before the previous one start, but looks interesting.

And I know that most Thanos events include the word Infinity in the title but could this mean that the cosmic entity known as "Infinity" would be more involed in the plot? Also wonder what those skulls mean, perhaps Thanos fused himself with "Death" or perhaps he just took her place...

So since apparrently nothing happens and nobody dies in Age of Ultron can I just skip it then and see the heros fight each other in this one?

Hey Marvel, The Avengers 2 doesn't come out until 2015. Can this be delayed until next year? We already have a crossover event with Age of Ultron. We don't need two crossovers in one years.

Well, at least the heroes will actually be fighting a villain this time. Whoever thought that a hero vs. villain story would be refreshing in comics?

Just once, I'd like to see Hank & Jan in some kind of group teaser like this. Yet they always get shafted.
