Aside from rumors and speculation, we really don't know anything for certain when it comes to Warner Bros. next wave of DC related movies. It's assumed that there will be a Justice League movie at some point, and then after that some type of reboot (or continuation?) of the Batman franchise, but would any members of the old team that brought so much success to the original trilogy be involved? Nolan seemed sure that he wouldn't be back, but recent rumors suggest differently - and now producer David Goyer tells Collider that although he hasn't been asked, that he's "not sure" about a return.

“Um, I don’t know, honestly. I worked on Batman for 10 years, so that’s a lot of Batman. I’m not sure… I don’t really know, I haven’t been asked that yet so we’ll see."

Obviously there's nothing too revealing here, but when asked the same question a while ago Nolan very definitively stated that there was no way he'd be back, Goyer throws a "we'll see" in there. Would you guys like to see Goyer play a part in any future Batman movies? You can watch the video interview over at Collider at the link below.

Give Goyer the boot and hire Scott Snyder.

I hope the Batman reboot is more in tone with the Arkham games. Dark and gritty, but still looks and feels like a comic book.
marvel72 - 4/3/2013, 2:52 PM
after seeing ghost rider spirit of vengeance & the dark knight rises,i say get a new writer.
Spideyguy94 - 4/3/2013, 2:56 PM
I'd say get a new writer. The new batman series needs a clean slate.
ManOfKrypton - 4/3/2013, 2:57 PM
The next film has to be a direct adaptation of Arkham Asylum - Escape from New York style!!! Throw Batman in at the deep end for his worst night ever.
CavEl - 4/3/2013, 2:57 PM
@ Marvel72 - For the last time, David Goyer didn't write TDKR. That was Jonathan Nolan. And the Ghostrider script is an ancient script he wrote 10 years ago, pre-Batman Begins, that the GRSOV director rewrote a bunch of times.
jerryblake - 4/3/2013, 3:00 PM
all depends on MOS script ... It's the first script in a long time he wrote without Johnatan Nolan help. Let's see who was better in this duo.
jerryblake - 4/3/2013, 3:01 PM
i say Goyer know how to wrap up good story, Nolan knows how to write dialogues.
95 - 4/3/2013, 3:04 PM
I like Goyer.
CavEl - 4/3/2013, 3:05 PM
P.S. Superguy is a member of the House of Ul.

Respect, bitches...
drykillogic22 - 4/3/2013, 3:08 PM
Oh boy, yet another Bat flick in the works..yay
Tevii - 4/3/2013, 3:08 PM
Please NO... had enough of your interpretation.

As much as I love the Markham games, and if they arent bringing back Bale, then I want a new vision. I don't want to see a action version of the animated series or the games.
Spideyguy94 - 4/3/2013, 3:23 PM
@TheHouseofUI he did write the story though, so he did have a large role in how the movie turned out. And the ghost rider thing you said is false as he signed on to write GR:SOV in 2009.

Can't blame him for RISES.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 4/3/2013, 3:27 PM
He is a fantastic writer for Batman. You guys forget how comic booky Batman Begins was.
CavEl - 4/3/2013, 3:31 PM
@ Spideyguy94 - No, the best way to understand how much Jonathan Nolan was the true guiding pen of TDKR is to view it like this. Jonathan took Chris and David's story and used it like how the Walking Dead TV show uses the comics.

Very loosely. Goyer and Nolan's original script had no Catwoman, Robin or Alfred leaving. That all came from Jonathan.

TDKR is J. Nolan's baby, much like how MOS is Goyer's baby.

On GR:SOV...

Goyer tells Collider, “I wrote a script about nine years ago, and Sony and the producers decided that they wanted to make that as the sequel. So…I’m coming on as a producer, and we’re basically doing a polish of my nine-year old scipt. So there’s not as much work involved.” That script was a little more hardcore than the movie we eventually saw directed by Mark Steven Johnson. “It was definitely written as a hard-R…It was a Blade-type film. Now they want it to be PG-13.” Goyer goes on to bring up Dark Knight, which pushed the boundaries of PG-13.
MJPETTY7 - 4/3/2013, 3:31 PM
^^ Then it became more cop-drama. Still good, but different.
ballzdeep - 4/3/2013, 3:33 PM
Can't blame Goyer fa having shyt material ta work with. Blame DC.
Jollem - 4/3/2013, 3:34 PM
batman comics are a cop drama sometimes. after all, batman is in a comic book called "detective comics"
Jollem - 4/3/2013, 3:35 PM
why would anyone blame goyer? the dark knight trilogy was fantastic. movies like iron man and skyfall even try to copy them
ballzdeep - 4/3/2013, 3:35 PM
DC needs motivation, focus and Kevin Feige.
marvel72 - 4/3/2013, 3:37 PM
@ TheHouseofUl

sorry you're wrong, check the following sites if you don't believe me.

-the dark knight rises wikipedia
-IMDB
-rotten tomatoes
-metacritic

all credit david s goyer & jonathan nolan as writers of the dark knight rises.

as for ghost rider spirit of vengeance

david s goyer wrote the screenplay/story & don't forget the other classic's the unborn, jumper, blade trinity, blade tv series & the crow city of angels.
ballzdeep - 4/3/2013, 3:37 PM
Rises totaly destroyed TDK trilogy. All comic fans should be pissed.
CavEl - 4/3/2013, 3:39 PM
@ Jollem - Why are you arguing with Marvel fans about DC properties? They've clearly never read Miller's Batman: Year One to know that Batman's stories are mostly cop dramas.

Batman mostly only fights aliens and fantasy based villains in crossovers stories with other members of the DCU.

Batman has 5 fantasy villains in Killer Croc, Clayface, Scar-Face, Man-Bat and Poison Ivy.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 4/3/2013, 3:39 PM
Seriously, most of the story was taken right from the Batman the Animated Series episode - Dreams in Darkness. Scarecrow attempts to poison Gotham through the water supply.
ballzdeep - 4/3/2013, 3:42 PM
I think Marvel showed just how 2 track and narrow DC has been. It dosen't matter how good MOS are the 50th Batman reboot turns out. Fans want the FLASH and JL now! No exceptions. Period.
CavEl - 4/3/2013, 3:43 PM
@ Marvel72 -

Screenplay by Jonathan Nolan, Christopher Nolan

Story by Christopher Nolan, David S. Goyer

The screenplay is the script, the story is a more like a synopsis.
ballzdeep - 4/3/2013, 3:45 PM
@TheHouseofUI For the simple fact were still talking about Batman any at all is why DC clearly sucks.
Jollem - 4/3/2013, 3:46 PM
@TheHouseofUl - not arguing, providing insight. probably to no avail :)

i'm aware of fanatics. fun stuff :)
CavEl - 4/3/2013, 3:46 PM
Goyer had 0 to no input in TDKR because he was too busy writing Man of Steel.

And, TDKR isn't a bad movie, for all you complaining chumps. Still one of the better CBMsin the last decade.
ballzdeep - 4/3/2013, 3:48 PM
DC= Shameful, terrible, lack of ambition, 0 creativity, money grubbing, Batman pimpin losers. PMM comics. Poor Mans Marvel.
ballzdeep - 4/3/2013, 3:51 PM
@LEVI LOL!
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 4/3/2013, 3:51 PM

Obviously Goyer had a lot of inspiration from the show.
dellamorte1872 - 4/3/2013, 3:55 PM
TDKR was more JN than Goyer
