Ellen Page On Returning As Kitty Pryde For X-MEN: DOFP Ellen Page On Returning As Kitty Pryde For X-MEN: DOFP

In an interview with Collider, Page talks for the first time about reprising the role of Kitty Pryde for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days Of Future Past. She reveals that it came as a complete surprise to be asked back under a different director, talks about working on a 3D movie, Singer's Tweets and more..

As most of us know, Kitty Pryde (aka Shadowcat) plays an integral role in the events of Chris Claremont's Days Of Future Past comic arc. Given that, fans might have expected the character to appear in Bryan Singer's movie, but considering the actress who played Kitty previously did so under Brett Ratner for X-Men 3, it was a surprise when it was announced that Singer had brought Ellen Page on board..and not only for us -- it seems Page was just as shocked. “I didn’t know for that long. I knew they were kind of doing it, but I didn’t expect it," the actress reveals to Collider. "I didn’t expect to play Kitty Pryde again, so when that came up and I met with Bryan, because I didn’t work with Bryan I worked with Brett Ratner, it was just awesome. I feel so grateful to be back… Really, truly, it’s not like something I’ve known for a year by any means. I really didn’t know that long before we went to shoot.”

Here's the video interview, in which page also discusses Singer's habit of Tweeting out images from the production (our first look at Page as Pryde included) and shooting the movie in 3D using the simul-cam technology.

Obviously this film won't be a straight up adaptation but, I really think after First Class that, The Wolverine and Days of Future Past will continue to get the franchise back on track after Last Stand and Origins bringing the franchise down. In Singer I trust.

At least this and the wolverine are trying to stay true to the major elements of specific comic book story lines.

Marvel studios doesn't bother with none of that shit

@thewonderer You can't go a day without whining & starting shit, can you? Stop acting like you care about the characters or the source material. It's not like you read them anyway. Oh and when did you take a trip to the set or see the script??

@Newbus

How about waiting for Singer to put out a trailer before asking "So where's the Sentinels?"

Maybe Singer is waiting for the FX department to get one just right before putting it out there because he knows everybody would have a shit fit if it didn't look perfect.

The Wonder has a point.There is a big double standard when it comes to judging Marvel Studios verses FOX when it comes to adapting Marvel characters.

Has FOX put out crap? Sure.But that was before Ironman and The Dark Knight
raised the bar for CBM's in 2008.X-Men Origins Wolverine may have come out in May 2009 but it started filming in January 2008.The first FOX Marvel film of the new post 2008 era was X-Men First Class, which most people saw as a good film.

Bringing up Daredevil or The Fantastic Four films is no relavent then talking about Burton's Batman,Raimi's Spider-Man or Singer's X-Men.They are from a different era of CBM film making.Singer appears to "Get it" based on how he produced XMFC (He would also have directed it if not for WB) So he should be givin the same chance to shine Marvel fans are giving Shane Black,The Russo Brothers and the Game of Thrones guy.

@ELgUaSoN: If Marvel Studios owns the X-Men movie rights, you can bet your ass that you won't get an X-Men movie in the next 15 years. You people act as if Marvel Studios will make a movie out of EVERY character they've got in their disposal as soon as they get them, you guys need a reality check. Marvel is still a relatively small studio, they've got A LOT in their hands right now just with the Avengers franchise. Just look at DC/WB, they own all the rights, but do we get as much superhero movies from them as we would have wanted?
