In Family Business The Kingpin finally decides to take his crime syndicate global, and Peter Parker -- not Spider-Man -- gets caught up in it, while having to deal with a mysterious young woman claiming to be his sister. "It seems very bizarre to him that Aunt May never mentioned anything about this woman, who's about his age and the resemblance is there," Waid explains. "Peter wants to try to figure out what this mystery is all about but basically they're running from a crime syndicate out to kill them both throughout the novel, so there's not a whole lot of time for Spider-Man to sit and relax and slowly suss this out."

So Mark Waid's on Spider-Man?

Haven't I've been predicting this for a while now?

Maybe Del Toro will do the Batman Reboot as I said.

Hate it.
Hate siblings of characters.
Hate female versions of characters.
Hate sons & daughters of characters.
Hate clone versions of characters.
Hate others taking over for characters.
I like the REAL characters..want a supporting cast?
Be more creative.

This is an OGN. It's a standalone story not in continuity. Think Kingdom Come.

Wait so is this like an elseworlds take like Spider-Man Reign? Or is that still the Inferior Spider-Man. I will say this I'm been praying that Mark Waid would rescue Spider-Man from Dan Slott. Maybe this story will lead Marvel to doing the right thing and locking Waid down on directing Spidey into the future! One can only hope.

Ok I'm all on board for this, I love Mark Waid. He's killing it on Daredevil and Indestructible Hulk. Now a Spidey tale I'm on board. Please turn over the reigns to Waid and get Slott off of that book.

I'm telling you, I can predict shit.

Told y'all Waid would do something Spidey related.

Now Del Toro will do the Batman Reboot.

Slott's book is selling great. it's also written really well, does he really deserve punishment for that?
I've loved his entire run, since ASM #500.

Pumped! Also, I agree with @xcrementus. I dig the majority Slott's run. It's had it's ups and downs, but most of it is damn good.

I was excited at first thinking Parker would be back in control, but I like alternate time/place tales so I'm looking forward to this.

The article state that it is in continuity and takes place before the whole Superior Spidey thing, that way they can use Peter and not confuse the general audience.

Read the novel secret of the sinister six. By Castro. It introduces a character named Pity that is supposed to be Spider mans sister. Its not continuity with the comics either, but the idea is also not an original one obviously. I'm gonna laugh my ass off if they call her Pity in this ORIGINAL graphic novel. I liked the book so that's why this bothered me. Sorry.

TheFox - 6/17/2013, 9:35 AM
Funny-- there was a great book series from Max Allan Collins about the Sinister Six that featured Peter Parker's long-lost sister, too... except she had been stolen as a child by a criminal named the Gentleman, and turned into a silent super-assassin named Pity.

I know it sounds goofy, but the books were actually pretty cool.

This... hmmm, I'll have to read it before I can judge. But Mark Waid is an awesome writer, and he's done good work on Spider-Man before, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Show me what you got, Waid!

*Sorry, it was Adam Troy Castro, not Max Allan Collins, who wrote the books. My bad.

(Thanks to Wyleejay for posting the right author in the comment right before mine.)

Say what you want about Wilson Fisk's criminal activities or his morbid obesity, but you gotta admit the man is stylin'.

Kingpin may be a better Daredevil villain, but it's nice to give Spidey a chance to make fat jokes, like in the early Ultimate comics:

"Young man, did you just web my feet to the floor?"
"If you cut yourself shaving, do you bleed butter?"

I like the idea of peter having a sister for some reason but i wish they would of thought of that 50 years ago it seems odd to for him to just a have a sister he never knew about for his entire life i mean its not like he was an infant when his parents died so i think he would remember having a sister.

I'm not so sure about this. I'm not saying it will be horrible but I have my doubts. I mean sure it's cool that Mark Waid is writing it but if this is in continuity think of the future. Mark Waid may make this sister thing fantastic but after he's gone future writers will make her character the point of petty side stories within issues just to fill up time. And after the writers really screw it up they'll eventually kill her off or make some story saying she wasn't his sister but a clone or some crap like that.
