They should find a way to bring Abrams back as director. He's so amazing.

Also, Into Darkness did not need that Alice Eve scene where she was half nudie or when they were about to kill off Kirk, thats so dumb, why would u do that when you know hes gonna come back anyways plus hes the leader of the Starship Enterprise....

Alice Eve in my opinion was a pointless character in the movie.....

Sorry babe, you just didnt fit in...

How about we get a black midget (like the one from me myself and irene) and cast him as gary mitchell.

Make sure that in the first act kirk is fired from starfleet but made captain again later that day.

Spock will remain emotional, illogical and unvulcan. Let's watch him and uhura fight some more. Maybe they'll get a tv spinoff, a romantic comedy like "modern family". Except- "its modern family...to the stars"

Scottys sidekick get promoted to navigator.

Give patrick stewart 10 mil to cameo. Give brent spiner 50 bucks and a case of salibary steak tv dinners to cameo.

The late captain pike comes back as a zombie.

The eneterprise gets blown all to hell- but manages to barely hold together just in time. Again. Like every [frick]ing movie.

The villain must be "harry mudd" and his army of tribbles. But the actor will deny being harry mudd for months. And then when we see harry mudd it will make no sense. At all.

Destroy san francisco again, so that simon pegg can promote the movie while hypocratically complaining that man of steel is too violent.

Is nimoy still alive?

Switch the STTMP uniforms.

Make mccoy gay. Gay as all hell. Goes around pestering everyone about their prostrate. Dammit jim I'm a doctor not porn star...well I'm that too.

Uhura will sass her way out of every conflict. You've come a long way baby. Mmmm hmm.

Chekov will still have the shittiest fake russian accent ever. Awful. Hey smart guy- USE the goddamn universal translator! [frick] sake.

Chris pines face might actually be fatter than shatners.

@ mcgee -

But what star trek was always missing was cup shots and dick jokes.
Substance? What? Are we watching star trek on the radio drama?

Next you'll tell me captain kirk sends a message to starfleet via pony express.

Cause that's how [frick]ing old we are.

Damon Lindelof is the worst screenwriter ever!

If he really not back to destroy this franchise, 3rd part have a chance to be nice and watchable.
kaput
kaput - 8/6/2013, 5:02 AM
The reality is that is doesn't matter what franchises get redone, what characters get remade or what storylines get retold, a vocal minority (majority?) will complain.

You guys act like the first set of movies were all masterful, and they were mostly crap. Number one was mostly unwatchable, Khan was the gold standard of science fiction, three was campy and, in parts, awful, four was a joke, five was atrocious and six was decent. The reality is that Abrams versions were easily in the top three of the frachise's history. Easily.

Question: why is it so terrible for a film version of a story to change something with the story? If it happens, the people responsible get called all sorts of names. BUT, a comic reselling gets applauded. Why the difference?

Same two idiot writers fanboys hate for writing the Transformers and turning them into dumb action comedies based on visual cgi set pieces and teen humor are the same writers they want to praise for turning Star Trek into a dumb action comedy based on visual cgi set pieces and teen humor.

..go figure!
