'Batfleck' Gets THE WOLVERINE Seal Of Approval

Okay, so we still haven't found any actors/directors that absolutely hate the idea of Ben Affleck as Batman! I'm sure they're out there, but obviously they're not gonna say anything to that effect in an interview; so, we'll continue posting the positive comments! This time though it's a man pretty much universally loved and respected by you CBMers, The Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman. Here's what he had to say to MTV's Josh Horowitz at TIFF.

"I think Ben is a great actor. I think he’s been underrated for a long time. He’s obviously a great director. He’s a very smart guy. That guy doesn't make decisions that aren't well thought out, that aren't great. And he's a tough guy..a Boston kid! I think deep down he doesn't mind taking on something that might be seen as controversial. I know him a little bit and I know he’s going to relish the opportunity to go and crush it. I have no doubt he’s going to crush it."

@AustinFan4Life but since recently Affleck's career has been great and I don't think he would want to commit career suicide. I mean, he swore he wouldn't do superhero movies again. So I can't help but think that he saw something in the script. Btw, the Daredevil director's cut was pretty good.

Well no one wants to commit career suicide, but just cuz an actor or studio(or both), think they can knock it out of the part with this role, doesn't mean they will. DareDevil is proof of that, by the way, I own the directors cut & it was was still terrible.

@Austin he was an intimidating badass in that and he was good in it.
If you say so, but I strongly disagree. It was a good film, not great, but still decently good, but he was far from intimidating or a badass, in my honest opinion.

Harsh? Yes. True? Yes, as well. Like I said in a previous comment, just because an actor & studio both think that an actor will knock it out of the part with a certain role, it doesn't mean they will. Exhibit A, would be DareDevil, especially since both he & the studio thought the same exactly thing about that film, at the time.

These articles from actors "approving" are stupid. They are actors who know they one day might have to (and even want to) work with Ben Affleck in the future. So they sure as hell aren't going to bad mouth him.

News flash Argo & Town have been the only real good movies he's ever really done. He's done a plethora of BAD films in the last 10 years. Two good films, do no erase all the bad films he was a apart of.

Extactly. If studios ever listened to Fanboys. Then none of us would ever have the luxury of CBMs weve had over the past 5+ years, with plenty more on the way. The same fanboys that once though Scott Atkins should be cast as Batman. If the people on this site would rather have a glorified stuntman over an actor that may fit the role then there just no pleasing anybody here.
