It seems Disney have enough faith in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man to officially make it a Summer release. The flick was originally set for November 6, 2015, but now it will hit on July 31, 2015. The new date means it'll no longer face competition from Bond 24, but, it will find itself smack bang in the third week of Batman/Superman's run! Aside from a few vague hints from the director, we really don't know too much about this one yet, and there haven't even been any solid casting rumors so far -- but expect that to change pretty soon. Who would you like to see shrink down in 2015?

Greengo - 9/9/2013, 4:23 PM
normally films get pushed back. glad they're moving it up.
TheManFromMars - 9/9/2013, 4:24 PM
So, "Moving up" means it comes early. Okay, gotta try to remember that. It always confuses me.
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:26 PM
i hope they dont rush it though, i want this to be good, but edgar wright did say he was done with the script though
anthonyEstark - 9/9/2013, 4:29 PM
Well THAT was unexpected. Let's hope you know what you're doing Disney.
Superior - 9/9/2013, 4:30 PM
This is good, I trust Edgar after seeing The World's End.
TheAbaryMan369 - 9/9/2013, 4:35 PM

WTF IS THIS
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:35 PM
blackjack- people can see both and if word of mouth and the trailers look good people will go, it also kind of depends on how guardians trailers and response for the movie and box office so maybe that will be able to gauge for ant man
CapFanLex005 - 9/9/2013, 4:36 PM
I think the GA member will see the Marvel logo and see it no matter what. The Fact that it is coming out sooner just means we dont have to wait as long to see Pymm! It is going to hurt that Superman/Batman is out bc ill see that about 1000 times. Im just glad our comics are making all of the big strides on the silver screen these days.
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:40 PM
blackjack-just wait and see, we dont know yet, it wont make big money(ant man) but i think it will do fine.
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:40 PM
plus ..idk anyone who cares about the pirates franchise anymore.
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:41 PM
ezio619-Marvel or johnny depp acting like jack sparrow again for the billionth time.....i am going with marvel
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:42 PM
blackjack- lets hope it works, i want all the superhero films to succeed plus if guardians and this succeed, it will show dc and marvel that there lesser characters can work of they can do them right.
CharlesLord - 9/9/2013, 4:42 PM
Was waiting for this. Right after AoU seems good, Bats/Supes 3rd shouldnt matter that much. I think AoU will give it big enough lead in
EdgyOutsider - 9/9/2013, 4:44 PM
Now this is definitely gonna be Marvel's first flop. Seriously, three weeks after a Batman movie?!?! Hopefully Marvel knows what they are doing.
BANEofExistence - 9/9/2013, 4:45 PM
2015

1- Superman/ Batman
2- Avengers: Age of Ultron
3- Star Wars Episode VII (Due to Prequel failures)
4- Bond
5- Ant Man
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:45 PM
blackjack- idk if disney would want their biggest brands going against each other so they might move pirates up or back and plus marvels been chugging in the cash for them while depps lastest association with them tanked.
JoeyGhoul - 9/9/2013, 4:46 PM
Another blockbuster coming in 2015. WOW
thewonderer - 9/9/2013, 4:46 PM
Daniel Craig went to Marvel "Stay out of my territory"
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:48 PM
banesmash- what do you mean by that?

blackjack- i think they might know that it probably wont make iron man numbers but it will be successful atleast
Pheezmatic - 9/9/2013, 4:49 PM
OH snap! marvel shittin on WBs with this one! I have a feeling Antman has a bit more to do with age of ultron than we think. Marvel's going in for the kill with this one.
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:49 PM
blackjack- from what i understand of movie business is that if you move it back, then it means the studio does not have confidence in it but if you move it up they have alot of confidence in it.
3DWitchHunt - 9/9/2013, 4:50 PM
Moved from one bad release date, to another
Why??
DanMcNice - 9/9/2013, 4:51 PM
I guess they are going to introduce him in Avengers AOU, that would explain it all.
MitchConner - 9/9/2013, 4:51 PM
This character could be the next Iron Man for Disney...I'm psyched
MitchConner - 9/9/2013, 4:51 PM
I hope they cast someone very good
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:51 PM
so pirates comes out july 10 while WF comes out the next week and then smurfs 3(ughhhh) is coming out july 24 and then ant man
MrCBM56 - 9/9/2013, 4:51 PM
Wtf is wrong with you?

Levi

Not sure if joking or not but you were the main person making fun of the fact it's going against bond, but now you call them pussies? Lol

And what do you guys mean Marvel has to lower thier expectations? Shouldn't EVERY studio have high expectations for thier movies? WTF?

Some of you are too stupid.

But I do think Marvel should of had Ant-Man come out in April or May. Batman/Superman'll crusts it.
MisterMagurlypse - 9/9/2013, 4:52 PM
Boy that would be embarassing if Bats and Supes, after 3 weeks, beats ol' Antie in it's opening week.
Not hating, just sayin
JoJo1982 - 9/9/2013, 4:52 PM
I KNEW IT!!!!
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:52 PM

DanMcNice - 9/9/2013, 4:53 PM
Hopefully we can get a third Marvel movie that year. Thor 3 in november anyone?
m0th3r - 9/9/2013, 4:53 PM
3rd week...how is that a problem..Marvel is testing grounds for 3 films a year...
JoJo1982 - 9/9/2013, 4:55 PM

l0rdleg0las - 9/9/2013, 4:55 PM

ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:55 PM
blackjack- the smurfs, why do they keep making those films, they are basically whole movies of product placement. lets give antman a shot people, who knows might surprise us.
ezio619 - 9/9/2013, 4:56 PM
blackjack- lets see ,ok
JamesMan - 9/9/2013, 4:56 PM
Oh that is going to hurt the box office badly. It will make it's budget back (120-140 million) but Marvel is being really confident on the movie making anything. Edgar Wright's name is not a selling point to audiences, just us nerds. It's during the third week of World's Finest (which can make anywhere from 900-1.5 billion) and Pirates 5! Whatever you make think of the Pirates series, it makes some SERIOUS money. I just looked it up right now and I'm shocked that the 4th film made a little over 1 billion. That had the same time difference of 4 years between the 3rd film and will have the same 4 years between the 5th film. That series is like an event for people.
Be careful Marvel, you just traded one demon (Bond) for TWO others (WF and Pirates 5).
