Looks like that NBC Constantine series really will happen as Deadline reveal that a pilot episode has been ordered. The show will be produced by The Mentalistt executive producer Daniel Cerone and, the man who now very much seems to be DC/WB's go-to-guy, David S. Goyer. Constantine (which looks to be the title for the time being) centers on John Constantine, an "enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond". The character is also expected to pop up in Guillermo del Toro's Dark Universe (an adaptation of the Justice League Dark comic book) and of course was already featured in his own movie starring Keanu Reeves - though I'm sure we all hope that the next incarnation will be a bit more blond..and British.

I'm so glad this is on NBC.
Kurne - 1/13/2014, 4:16 PM
Since David Goyer is attached AND this show is on a different Network than The CW, I can already see a connection to the DCCU, or at least Del Toro's movie plans.
Interestein - 1/13/2014, 4:17 PM
Awesome, get Bettany.
Kurne - 1/13/2014, 4:18 PM
Marvel, get your asses moving with casting Luke Cage and Daredevil. Make up for what you have done today.

Can't believe the Gotham show won't be connected to the DCCU. What a [frick]ing waste. Let's hope this one does.
GliderMan - 1/13/2014, 4:33 PM
Who would make a good Constantine?
TheSuperguy - 1/13/2014, 4:37 PM
Nice! Hope it'll be great.

When the Sandman movie comes out, if they decide to include the Constantine section of Volume 1, I hope they use the guy from the show. Would be a great crossover.
jlabatman - 1/13/2014, 4:38 PM
Awesome, hope it turns out good!
ALmazing - 1/13/2014, 4:39 PM

batcheeks8 - 1/13/2014, 4:39 PM

AlexLaChiusa - 1/13/2014, 4:41 PM

Well that Justice League news came BEFORE the casting.
GodzillaKart - 1/13/2014, 4:46 PM
Can they do this right on network TV?
Custer28 - 1/13/2014, 4:47 PM
Then this show Comes Out This Year?
Minty - 1/13/2014, 4:51 PM
Props to DC for not sticking everything on The CW

@Omega

LMAO! It genuinely feels like that!
CherryBomb - 1/13/2014, 4:51 PM
Cast Jim Strugess now!

CherryBomb - 1/13/2014, 4:52 PM
Whoops I meant *Jim Sturgess
pickleweasel2 - 1/13/2014, 4:52 PM
@OmegaDaGod

uh... this is literally the only thing they have announced since then. Announcing that a Constantine Pilot has been ordered constitutes as "fire everything"? Yeah ok....
JoeMomma29 - 1/13/2014, 4:53 PM
LOL @ Omega

If DC really wanted to trump Marvel today they would announce The Rock officially or who is playing Lex etc......
SuperCat - 1/13/2014, 4:54 PM
Didn't care for the movie but I'll give this a chance.
AquamanIsTheBest - 1/13/2014, 4:56 PM
Can't wait!
JoeMomma29 - 1/13/2014, 4:57 PM
If they can fashion this just like Hannibal it will be amazing.

JoeMomma29 - 1/13/2014, 4:59 PM

If you were making a joke than please accept my apology.

patrat18 - 1/13/2014, 4:59 PM
Dc is killing it today.
Space - 1/13/2014, 5:05 PM
Ewan Mcgregor is my choice for Constantine.
JoeMomma29 - 1/13/2014, 5:08 PM
@ Omega

It went over my head, so shame on me.
MightyZeus - 1/13/2014, 5:08 PM
I can not wait to watch this. I love Constantine and i love the film.
So i'm looking forward to it.
Omarvls - 1/13/2014, 5:11 PM
Cool
InfiniteMonkey - 1/13/2014, 5:16 PM
I love the idea of bringing Constantine back but not on network TV.

He can't curse, he probably will not be smoking nor drinking heavily.

I'm gonna go with a "Grif" response. This is going to be shit.
REPOMAN - 1/13/2014, 5:17 PM

They left out the part in his description that says COCKNEY.

feedonatreefrog - 1/13/2014, 5:18 PM
Charlie Hunnam for Constantine

or Pacific Rim co-star Rob Kazinsky

-both are primarily TV actors
-If they want to connect it to the JLDark film, both have starred in major roles in big-budget films.
-both have worked with GDT
-both are Brits
