According to The Schmoes' Phantom scooper, Jeff Wadlow has signed on to direct Sony's planned reboot of Masters Of The Universe. That's signed, sealed, delivered -- they reckon it's only a matter of time before this one hits the trades. Wadlow had been lined up by Fox to direct their X-Force movie, but obviously that doesn't look good if he's chosen to bring He-Man, Fisto, Ram-Man, and the rest of the slightly pornographically monikered heroes to the big screen. Previous versions of scripts have veered away from the original cartoon quite a bit, but we have no idea what type of story Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lone Ranger) is currently working on. What do you think of this? Would you have preferred if Wadlow had stuck with X-Force? Is a Masters Of The Universe movie even a good idea in your opinion?

Bring us the movie we have always wanted.
batz11 - 4/9/2014, 6:14 PM
No modern world this time, want LOTR style...
Curmudgeon - 4/9/2014, 6:17 PM
Look, Fox has clearly been reluctant to schedule more than one X-Film per year, and we've already got ones set for 2016 and 2017.

So unless they greenlit X-Force immediately and rushed to put it out next year, I don't how we could have gotten one before 2018.

Wadlow's easily got a few years to kill before he can get to it.
Tony93 - 4/9/2014, 6:18 PM
apparently
McNyagano - 4/9/2014, 6:21 PM

JoJo1982 - 4/9/2014, 6:35 PM

SuperCat - 4/9/2014, 6:36 PM
Starfox - 4/9/2014, 6:37 PM

Everyone gets the shit beat out of them. LOL
HypeExMachina - 4/9/2014, 6:40 PM
I'd rather X-FORCE than gritty reboot of Robot Chicken parody.
Demongod20 - 4/9/2014, 6:40 PM
Damnit dodge a bullet with Chu leaving just to get hit by a train. It's like they are determined to make a mediocre He-Man movie.

X-Force is an upcoming 2016 American-Canadian superhero film with no release date announced as of yet. Jeff Wadlow director of Kick-Ass 2 has stated:

"‘X-Men’ is about mutants, and not all the mutants get into the mansion. So I’m curious to tell a story about the mutants who don’t make it into the mansion....Look, I’m a huge Deadpool fan, who doesn’t love Wolverine – but obviously Cable is an iconic character we haven’t seen onscreen yet. I love Psylocke, Domino is an amazing character – it’s a long list of characters that have appeared in ‘X-Force’ – Colossus is in the current lineup… There’s a lot of really exciting characters that you can use in ‘X-Force’ that have been in other movies, that haven’t shown up, or maybe there’s ways to re-imagine them, even though they might’ve shown up in other films."

GenerationX - 4/9/2014, 6:43 PM
who is this joker??
kevberg - 4/9/2014, 6:48 PM
Fahk X-force.

Maybe we'll get a decent he-man movie i guess.
MexicanStarLord - 4/9/2014, 6:57 PM
Come on FOX greenlight X-force!!!!
AgentEX - 4/9/2014, 7:02 PM
This doesn't mean XForce isn't happening.
MexicanStarLord - 4/9/2014, 7:09 PM
@AgentEX Hope it does happen getting tired of always seeing Wolverine and friends lets see Cable and Deadpool on the big screen.
RorMachine - 4/9/2014, 7:11 PM
No but it means X-Force isn't happening anytime soon...at least not with this director. it was supposed to be Wadlow's next project.
JoJo1982 - 4/9/2014, 7:11 PM
Well we need to find out what's the status on this X-Force

I was really excited to see that on film

Cable gets no love
TheMexicanSuperman - 4/9/2014, 7:15 PM
This news dosen't mean X-Force isn't happening. X-Force might not happen for a little bit so in the mean time Wadlow will direct Masters of the Universe first.
ComicsBornAndBred - 4/9/2014, 7:19 PM
Nooooooooo!!! This guy is terrible. Kick Ass 2 was shit. His other directing efforts are shit too! Don't want him doing x force. Get Vaughn to do it or someone else.
MercwithMouth - 4/9/2014, 7:30 PM
Wadlow did Never Back Down, great movie.

He also wrote the script for X-Force, so even if he doesn't direct, he'll be connected.
ComicsBornAndBred - 4/9/2014, 7:31 PM
NeverBackDown was shit as was Kick ass 2
ConnerKent - 4/9/2014, 7:33 PM
A MOTU movie could be very awesome and fun, but this director is questionable. I hope this news is false and they hire a better director.
ComicsBornAndBred - 4/9/2014, 7:43 PM
Duncan Jones, who is doing Warcraft, Alex Proyas or Neil Jordan should direct MOTU
MexicanStarLord - 4/9/2014, 7:49 PM
Moon and Source Code were pretty damn good movies Duncan Jones would be a great fit. Let Wadlow concentrate on X-Force.
