UPDATE: Rumor: The First Avenger: Captain America's Invaders Revealed?

I have received information from the set of The Captain America movie currently shooting in England. If this is accurate, those hoping to see Namor, Toro, or any of the original team of Invaders from the comics will be very disappointed.

The info comes courtesy of someone claiming to be an extra on set. Although I have been unable to verify if that is accurate, the information does seem like it rings true from what we already know. Anyway, I'll leave this under scoops for now and let you folks debate on it.

The guy tells me that he saw a call sheet for a soon to be shot scene involving Cap and several other uniformed characters. As was reported earlier and is evident on IMDB(still of course no source of confirmation!), the actor J.J. Field is down as playing a character called Falsworth. This is most likely some variation on Montgomery Falsworth, a.k.a. Union Jack who was one of the original members of the team. He says that the mysterious Asian character first reported on Here, is someone called Morita, played by actor Kenneth Choi. There is also Bruno Rici playing a character named Dernier. And it's these men that are referred to in the script as The Invaders.

Of course, this could all be completely inaccurate. Aside from this, the fact that we have heard nothing about any of the other Invaders from the comic being a part of this, I would still have my doubts.

Confirm or debunk below.

Whats the point of putting no names in the team,?, best just ignore INVADERS and make the movie more real feel with just CAP and BUCKY!

i can't f*cking stand bucky,i hate him as much as i hate robin.

this might be true namor is the first mutant,the title of his comic says that.

& his appeared in the pages of the x-men,i bet ya fox has something to do with this.

not allowing marvel to use their charactors.

I could see this being true, it makes sense they wouldn't include Namor or the Human Torch both characters would overshadow Captain America and non-comic fans watching the movie would be confused by the existence of a second human torch

psmaniacs is correct.Jim Morita was a Japanese-American Army Ranger who was a member of the Commandos.Jacques Dernier was a member of the French Resistance who was an ally of the Commandos.

Interesting scoop ROR! Hmm Jim Morita & Jacques Dernier. I wish someone would spot Gabe Jones on set, and whose playing him. I believe this is pretty accurate.

This WOULD fit with the rumors we'd heard earlier about the Invaders and the Howling Commandos being merged for the sake of the film.

I agree, not a big fan of Bucky, but, in my opinion they are going to try and work in the winter soldier story for future cap films so at least in the first film he is going to be a necessary evil. I can live without the Invaders in this movie, it already feels like it is getting a little top heavy in how many characters are being shown. It makes sense that the howling Commandos are in it, but I hope SLJ's screen time is limited,(I can't help but feel this is being used as a platform for a Nick Fury solo movie). This is a Captain America movie, not an Invaders movie, yes they are an important part of Caps rich history, but there is only a limited amount of screen time and I would hate to see Captain Americas character suffer because they were trying to squeeze in to many other characters.

Namor is the first mutant, in terms of being the first mutant character created by Marvel.In the comics, he was the first mutant the public was aware of, as Apocalypse, Sinister or any other centuries old mutants were not known to the public.

I hope they Invaders aren't in it. That would just take to long to explain who they are, why they are doing the things they are, and how they are what they are. I wouldn't mind seeing a solo appearance from someone like Union Jack though, he's easy enough to describe in a sentence.

I don't mind seeing the Howling Commandos though. They are also easy enough to explain in a sentence.

Great scoop ROR! :) I'm perfectly fine with Marvel using characters like these instead of Namor and the Human Torch. Would I love to see them on the big screen? Yes. But I think that the focus should remain on Captain America and Bucky so if not including them helps with that then so be it. (a small role for Union Jack would be nice though!)

The Original Invaders would have been too big and colorful for this film anyway. They would have overshadowed Cap, im sure of it. And i think thats why Joe Johnston and folks are going this road.

Steve Rogers aka Captain America is the main character in this! And they should only focus on his life and his fight against "Rogue" Nazi Super Soldier Red Skull and his army! Im fine with the Howling Commandos cameo, because they are just Commandos, but the original members of the Invaders, are just too big for this!

Give them there own movie! That would be cool! Then Cap can make a little cameo in that one!:)

Eh. I'm not going to see an Invaders movie, I'm going to go see a Captain America movie. It's a minor change. If I want 100% accuracy...I'll read the comics. I just want to see a good film.

MrAnonymous- what you said i don't get it.

ddd- how will they turn to fox? they don't really have to put the invaders in the the film if they don't want to, and in wolverine origins thats all the screen time the characters needed in the movie for the audience 2 know what kind of team they were, why they were chosen, and what there powers were and what kind of people were them, so the writer for that film did it good to introduce all those characters in one movie. and fox is a company they choose the director they think fits the protect and the writer that also fits it thats what all movie company do so you can't blame marvel,fox,Sony and other studios for bad movies blame the director and writer for the film, open your eyes dude.

I still have a lot of doubts with this movie. Sorry Lee but nothing I've seen convinces me this will be good. I still hold my full judgement since there's no trailer yet. Maybe keeping my expectations low will help make it a blockbuster movie for me. So far the first pictures aren't doin it for me though.

Ugh, why does everyone like the most horrible parts of comics?! Winter Soldier is a {shoot} character! The original Invaders?! That's {funny} stupid! They would overshadow cap! It's a captain America movie {gosh dangit} The Invaders/Howling commandos are going to be minor parts of the film. Bucky isn't going to be in tights, relax. He'll probably be more like the Ultimates version.

Union Jack.. is the only invader they can use (along with Bucky).. the rest have powers which would completely conflict with the representation of Captain America. Lets face facts they are gonna have a troop of soldiers called "invaders" and some may have names that link to the comic invaders that is all.... anything else would be stupid.

could the asian be private jim morita? who helped out the howling commando at one stage? he was part of a nesei squad so yer... and theres another character in sgt. fury and the howling commandos named jaqcues 'the frenchie" dernier he ws french resistance...its a possibility

His name is not Toro, I believe someone similar became Toro however. Jim Hammond is the original Human Torch, which was an android. That android was later created into vision by Ultron.

i think invaders is necessary to show caps leadership and how he handles other superheroes.. and would also help why they looked for him and why he will lead the avengers in battle..

New guy here, been hitting up CBM for years now, thought it was time to finally register.

I love Marvel comics A LOT -- My 2 cents: They have to include NAMOR. There is so much important story/history that revolves around him from the 1940's onward that it would be an epic missed opportunity if he's not.

I will be very surprised if Namor was in this, but i highly doubt it.

They already have stated they will be combining the howling commandos and the invaders so this makes sense. And you need Bucky he rules!

But ya I really don't think namor will be in this. When everyone freaked out when johnson said he "wont have wings" it was a bad question because the interviewer should have asked if he would be in the movie at all. Which i think johnson was hinting at with his answer to no wings on namor. That he is not even in it. That's just how i took it.

While it would have been cool to see the lineup we all know, this seems good enough for me. Like another poster stated, flashy heroes would take away from the realism of WW2 and the Cap story.
