DC have updated their New Frontiersman website with the following interior artwork from Before Watchmen, featuring art from the likes of Lee Bermejo, Amanda Conner, Darwyn Cooke, Adam Hughes, J.G. Jones and Jae Lee..

Unfortunately it's a bit on the small side, but we'll update with a larger, clearer version if possible. This montage of artwork debuted at the "DC All Access: Before Watchmen” panel at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo over the weekend.

this is going to suck. there are just some things you don't [frick] around with and Watchmen is near the top of that list.

Why are they doing this again?

Art is beautiful. But THIS STORY DOESN NOT EVEN COUNT

This will be great.

@Netman0007-I hear where you are coming from. As far as I am concerned, lots of stories in the last decade do not count for many mainstream DC and Marvel characters. This is especially as comics have gotten in my opinion, ultra-violent, gore-porn publications. I don't think of myself as a prude, comics have crossed that line in the last decade or so. I am especially referring to what I think of as the mainstream super hero comics.

Just like George Lucas has proven to not really have a grip on his creation, Alan Moore has changed as well. DC collectively figured he really severed his ties to the company with his most recent rants. He really does hate the big companies that produce comics. So what does DC do with a property created in house, derived from already existing owned characters that helped create the modern direction of this now adult medium? Do they sit on it until "The Great Alan Moore" dies? Is that fair to Dave Gibbons and other artist that could add to the lexicon of this property? In truth, do you trust Alan Moore to write in that universe a quality story after his grand opus? Side note: its kinda like Ultimate Marvel after the Ultimate Wave in some aspects.

Me? I want to read more stories of Rorschacha and his evalution to his new sense of justice. The conflict he had right up to the pedifile he dispatches. Or let this whole universe die from no use.

IMHO

I'll get it, why not? Did we as fans stop buying superman after Siegal and Shuster started to separate themselves from DC?
golden123 - 4/16/2012, 3:13 PM
I think I'm going to try picking up one, but I'm not sure which one yet. This article is making me lean towards Rorschach, though. Cool!
