Last night we finally got to see the highly anticipated third trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. This one offered up a lot more in the way of plot and dialogue, as well as some great action. There was also quite a melancholy vibe to it, bolstered by a nice, spine tingling score. We had a few new glimpses of Tom Hardy's Bane, but this trailer definitely put the focus more on Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, and for the first time, the mysterious John Blake played by Joseph Gordon Levitt.

Personally I loved it, but some fans seemed a little disappointed that the final trailer didn't deliver a bit more spectacle, and could have maybe used one more "wow" moment to really heighten anticipation. What do you think?

It was decent. No more, no less. Will probably be fantastic though.
Talontd - 5/1/2012, 8:26 AM
Wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't AMAZING....
marvel72 - 5/1/2012, 8:29 AM
it was alright but nothing to get excited over,i'll watch it at the cinema but i'm not getting my hopes up.
NebOmen - 5/1/2012, 8:30 AM
Last 10 seconds made it
jimoakley666 - 5/1/2012, 8:30 AM
I really liked it. Very subtle. Really can't wait to see the film. Need to see the Avengers again first though. Brilliant summer for films this year. And then we get Bond and Dredd in the Autumn!
RealGothamite - 5/1/2012, 8:31 AM
Isn't there already a poll for this???
TrollHunter - 5/1/2012, 8:31 AM
Wait a minute are you kidding me? Mixed reactions? How could you possibly find anything wrong with a trailer that is, in my opinion, the best trailer of the year so far? People where upset that they didn't see more? Are you serious? What, do you want to watch the whole movie? This trailer was the perfect tease for what we can expect and it set up the plot and characters amazingly well. And don't even get me started on the brilliant sound design. Fans needed a wow moment? The bridges blowing up, theres you're wow moment. Or that tag at the end with the Batwing. Come on guys, I'm shocked this trailer is supposedly getting mixed reactions.
UltimaRex - 5/1/2012, 8:31 AM
The last option on the poll says it all. Any negative reaction to that trailer is down to a bunch of Marvel fanboys who are scared TDKR will be better than the Avengers.

The Avengers is great.

TDKR will be great.

"Which one is be better" will be down to personal opinion.

Please just deal with it.
PaulRom - 5/1/2012, 8:31 AM
I thought it was fantastic. Not mind-blowingly epic like The Avengers trailers, but definitely got me pumped. Bane sounds much better too.
Unas - 5/1/2012, 8:34 AM
I think Nolan is purposely keeping it bland for security purposes. This movie is going to be huge! I'd bet Nolan doesn't want to give us the slightest clue as to how his story will end. I'm sure he wants to rape our minds to the extend of us having to pick up the pieces of our brain as we leave. I thought the trailer was deep and straight to the point. I can't wait!
continuezero - 5/1/2012, 8:36 AM
It didn't have that jaw dropping moment but I think they're saving it all for the movie which I'm cool with. I've seen too much of the Avengers.
Unas - 5/1/2012, 8:36 AM
7/20/2012.....my body is ready.
xfan320 - 5/1/2012, 8:37 AM
Ummm...sh!t trailer... sorry, no marvelite here, but that pretty much sucked.

Not trollin, but every trailer for this has sucked so far..WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FIRST teaser for TDKR (that one was WAY better)

Sure it'll be good, but really nolan...ZzZzzz
SonOfStarKiller - 5/1/2012, 8:38 AM
it was perfect as you can get. Loved the slow build up. Very atmospheric and incredibly photographed. TDK trailer wasn't filled with spectacle either and look how that turned out. Nolan really does know what he's doing.
TrollHunter - 5/1/2012, 8:39 AM
@ xfan320

Please explain how this was a shit trailer.
Minghagz - 5/1/2012, 8:40 AM
I honestly can't stop watching it and speculating about it my head. And from what I've seen, I really like what they are doing with Catwoman!
HelaGood - 5/1/2012, 8:41 AM
decent trailer. the movie will hopefully be tons better though.
StrangerX - 5/1/2012, 8:42 AM
I liked it! At first I wasn't sure how they were going to have the "Batwing", or whatever that thing is move because it didn't seem fluid in the other trailer, but after this I can't [frick]ing wait!!!
skot888 - 5/1/2012, 8:43 AM
Eh it was alright, didn't make me excited. I guess at this juncture knowing the Nolan Batman's no longer matter towards a larger DCU Movie verse I just don't care as much as I should. I'll be excited when they start working on the reboot. Since that's right around the corner.
R3dRUM - 5/1/2012, 8:43 AM
The way i see it is.. Unlike the avengers trailer which gave some of the WOW moments away like the hulk catching the falling iron man...this on the other hand is perfect not giving any key moments away so I LOVED IT

Not hating on The Avengers in any was, was an EPIC MOVIE
Spidey91 - 5/1/2012, 8:43 AM
I think it sets the tone for the movie pretty well.
this dude says it better than I can:

HOCKEY PADS!!! xD
TrollHunter - 5/1/2012, 8:45 AM
@ theWorld

(Face Palm)
So you wanted a trailer with fast cuts and filled to the brim with money shots? A trailer with without what I just described is not at all boring. The way the trailer started with minimal sound design and how it just built and built was SO exciting! And besides, you don't want a trailer filled with money shots because then they are all spoiled for when you actually go to see the movie!
avengingson - 5/1/2012, 8:47 AM
So nice, I watched it twice.
OnLeatherWings - 5/1/2012, 8:47 AM
trailer was mind blowingly awesome imo. i have to admit this is my most anticipated movie of the year. and that wont change. trailer did exactly what it was supposed to. make us ask more questions. make us debate. make wonder whats next. it wasnt just a bing bang boom wow look at those explosions type of trailer. it was much better than that. it was a steady build up leading to shear awesomeness making us wanting more.
JordanKing - 5/1/2012, 8:48 AM
Truthfully, it was nothing special. I'm gonna see it anyway, but the trailer was just plain boring, it needed more spectacle.
gannicus - 5/1/2012, 8:49 AM
mixed reactions look i love the avengers movie i want to see it again like now. but this as well looks bloody brillant its got that dark and gritty sytle the avengers was such a blast but this looks like its got an edge to it there is room for both movies to blow the summer away.
OnLeatherWings - 5/1/2012, 8:50 AM
doubleD @ good then i think we can all expect you to not be contributing anymore to this thread in the future are any tdkr pages. right???
ralfinader - 5/1/2012, 8:51 AM
"...and could have maybe used one more "wow" moment to really heighten anticipation..."

I watched this trailer multiple times, trying in vain to see what I was missing. It teased some interesting tidbits, but it failed to heighten my anticipation, which has taken several hard hits in the lead up to TDKR. I am afraid the 'wow' moments are here in this trailer, and that disappoints me greatly. Just my opinion, loved TDK and BB (faults and all), seeing the midnight Avengers this Thursday.
themann11 - 5/1/2012, 8:51 AM
Absolutely [frick]ing Amazing! Surpassed all my expectations and more...it was a dominant superior trailer...GAME ON!
dirkgently77 - 5/1/2012, 8:55 AM
I loved it. Real sombre mood. Like it more than the last trailer. As a comic book collector and reader for nearly thirty years now I feel really spoiled this year. Avengers was absolutely mind blowing and this is beginning to feel that wat too. Dont know about spidey yet but I'm definitely gonna see it. But anyway this is just the comedown I need after avengers. They both seem like their gonna be the best of the genre but at two different ends of the spectrum.
R888 - 5/1/2012, 8:56 AM
I thought it was great, I like it, they saving the best parts when we watch the film.
Action - 5/1/2012, 8:58 AM
This movie will be great.
Rulk - 5/1/2012, 9:00 AM
I thought it was okay. Hoped for more. I couldn't understand what Bane said in the beginning. Still not happy with his costume. I liked Catwoman's dialogue though. 7/10
thewolfx - 5/1/2012, 9:01 AM
i think it was boring and highly overrated by nolanite scum

i will say im glad i can understand bane better now

even tho he still is a midget and a whiteguy
UltimaRex - 5/1/2012, 9:02 AM
@XaviersFinest. Like who? And if you're really "not impressed" you might want to check your pulse.

"May just wait til DVD." Bull are you. Calling that right now.
Ashes2Phoenix - 5/1/2012, 9:02 AM
You don't owe these people anymore.... You have given them everything..

Not everything.... Not yet......

I am sorry but if that part of the trailer did not send a chill down your spine, then many of you are impossible to impress. The trailer was great. The way it built up was fantastic and the pacing was great. How can you not be excited for this film ? It is screaming epic and it's not even breaking a sweat.
Chaplin - 5/1/2012, 9:03 AM
Loved it! That slow build up to chaos! Filled with drama and emotion and an incredible new version of Zimmer's Batman theme. And of course Nolan and Co's penchant for keeping things close to the chest!
Perfect tease for what is to come without completely ruining the content of the film like so many other trailers do nowadays!
blvdnoise - 5/1/2012, 9:03 AM
Very good..

Now, because this article will inevitably turn into a war of comparison with "you know what" let me try and put it simply, saying YES.. The hero loving, towel around the neck tying, boy in me is absolutely batshit nuts (no pun intended) about hitting the theater this Thursday evening. However, The story driven, movie loving, grown up in me is more excited for TDKR than I have been for perhaps any other film to date..

All Hail Summer 2012
Ashes2Phoenix - 5/1/2012, 9:05 AM
@blvdnoise: Could not have put it better myself !
gannicus - 5/1/2012, 9:05 AM
