SPOILER: Will Lucius Fox Survive THE DARK KNIGHT RISES?

It has long been rumored that Bruce Wayne's friend and gadget-guy Lucius would be a causality of Chris Nolan's final Bat-flick. Now in an interview with The Wrap, Morgan Freeman gives a surprisingly direct answer when asked about his character's possible demise..

Well, I guess Morgan Freeman says what he wants! Seemingly not taking a page from the "you'll have to wait and see" response handbook, in an ind-depth interview with The Wrap the veteran actor is quite happy to reveal whether or not his character Lucius Fox makes it to the end of The Dark Knight Rises. Obviously, big SPOILER ahead..

One of the big questions in my little universe: Will your character, Lucius Fox, make it out of the "Dark Knight Rises" alive?

Yeah.

How does it feel to be done with the Batman series?

I don't see it so much as being done with it. It's the end of a chapter, that's all.

There you have it. Despite quite a few rumors to the contrary, Lucius Fox will not be one of the characters to buy the farm in Christopher Nolan's Batman threequel. His second response also suggests that he might have hopes to return to the franchise someday, despite Nolan making it very clear it will be his last one. If you are a fan of Freeman, be sure to check out the full interview by clicking the link below.

Won't believe anything anyone attached to this movie says before I see it. This could all be bullcrap just to confuse us.
MarkJulian - 6/6/2012, 7:40 AM

Catwoman will be killed by Taila.

TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 6/6/2012, 7:44 AM
If anone wants sme possible spoilers by a guy who reports he was on set, just ask, and give your email. I believe him, cause the spoilers sound legit according to the trailers and he gives his experiences he had with Nolan, and I can believe him on those alone. The Fire Rises! lol.

kevberg - 6/6/2012, 7:46 AM
Bale Looks terrible in that shot. Guy shoulda bulked up just a bit more like in BB. Its not like he couldn't .
GingerBird - 6/6/2012, 7:47 AM
Hey deadpool dork ass, Avengers sucks. And I'm being totally serious. Overhyped piece of transformers crap.
CoolantTech - 6/6/2012, 7:48 AM
@DE4DPOOL Guess who else sucks... yep you guessed right
Greengo - 6/6/2012, 7:54 AM
PHEW!!! I took a risk looking at this but it actually just debunks a previous rumored 'spoiler' that I had avoided but someone had put in a later comment section.

PHEW!!! Oh man what a relief lol
ThunderCougarFalconBird - 6/6/2012, 7:57 AM
@ kevberg - That's the point. The one thing we know for sure is Bruce Wayne is older and NOT at his best in this movie. If he was the same size as in BB it would defeat the purpose. Most actors would probably do that and it'll be ok but Bale is known for making sure every little aspect of his character is authentic, especially his physicality. This is another occasion where he as got it spot on!
Greengo - 6/6/2012, 7:57 AM
@GingerBird is an oxymoron wrapped in a paradox
BSingerFoxMen - 6/6/2012, 7:58 AM
Of course he survives! In Nolan's Batman universe, Bats can't DO or figure out ANYTHING without Fox's help! Lucius Fox is the World's Greatest Detective in the Nolan-verse lol
PanochaLibre - 6/6/2012, 8:01 AM
This adds credibility to this spoiler.

Alfred is the one that will bite it...not Lucius.
ABLEE337 - 6/6/2012, 8:20 AM
Exactly, Mr. Wayne.

RANDOM GUESS PREDICTION: AT THE END IT SEEMS BATMAN DIES, AND THE GOOD COP LEVITT...TAKES UP THE MANTLE OF THE DARKNIGHT..
Shaman - 6/6/2012, 8:45 AM
GODDAMNIT!!! I NEED A DEATH IN THIS BITCH OR ELSE ITS NOT GONNA BE AS GOOD AS THE AVENGERS!!!
JMESS - 6/6/2012, 8:45 AM
I didnt think we would anyways, its not like this is the last batman movie ever so why do people think all these main characters are going to get killed off ?
Ranger14 - 6/6/2012, 8:51 AM
jme@ It's the conclusion to this franchise, so it is expected that Nolan will do something dramatic or "out there" like killing off a main character. I will actually be shocked if there isn't one of the main characters killed. I will be extremely upset and disappointed if it is Batman though, as some rumors are stating.
ImnotDaredevil - 6/6/2012, 9:02 AM
@Yoss. It sure does on this site! Fantastic.
valeriesghost - 6/6/2012, 9:12 AM
I think Lucious dying is the obvious and easy way. Killing off someone like Gordon, Alfred, or Bats would have a bigger impact.
GiantNerd - 6/6/2012, 9:34 AM
I think Batman, Gordon, and Alfred die and Luscious takes up the mantle of the bat. It's all his equipment and ideas anyway. :)
Mysterion - 6/6/2012, 9:58 AM
@ GUNSMITH : youre not alone with that prediction, that seems to be consensus from people in the differ blogs I visit.
Fogs - 6/6/2012, 10:13 AM
He's Black Panther!
ScabbyJ - 6/6/2012, 10:58 AM
Maybe they actually plan another movie.
Mego - 6/6/2012, 12:15 PM
@GUNSMITH Though DC comics treats Batman as if anyone can just suit up and be Batman, Nolan treats Batman as a character who exists as a result of a trauma suffered by Bruce Wayne.
It's extremely unlikely Nolan would make such a move.
When DC has multiple Batmen they are watering down the character and erasing the meaning of Batman.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 6/6/2012, 12:17 PM
@marvel72
Just because the Spider-man franchise is rebooted, it doesn't make the previous 3 films any less significant. Same goes for this film.
Ranger14 - 6/6/2012, 12:28 PM
"@ GUNSMITH : youre not alone with that prediction, that seems to be consensus from people in the differ blogs I visit."

For the love of all that is good, please..NO! Just what we need is a wimpy, little Batman. I also don't see transitioning to a new Batman without him being trained and mentored to take on the cape. Not everyone can just put on the cape. It takes a certain drive, psyche and passion to be Batman. If they don't build that up prior to passing on the cape, passing on the cape makes no sense at all. I would rather see a reboot.
DTor91 - 6/6/2012, 12:43 PM
I don't know how the rumors of JGL taking over started. But I swear, people try hard to believe in something that just isn't there. "JGL is Robin," "JGL is Azrael," "JGL is the new Batman." It will be slightly funny when none of that happens.
DTor91 - 6/6/2012, 12:49 PM
Also, since someone always has to start the "never gets old" Marvel vs DC argument, Avengers was great. I saw it three times. But I admit, upon third viewing, the hype wore off. In fact I realized parts in the first half of the movie were pretty boring. Avengers was better than I expected it to be, but at the same time, it played out exactly how I expected it too. Pure spectacle. Rises will be a film. Avengers will probably stay at top financially, but critically Rises will demolish Avengers. Hell, I think even Amazing Spider-Man will do better critically than Avengers.
Funny to think now, that Spider-Man is the underdog. Years ago, the general public would have been like "Iron Man who?"
stevestrange - 6/6/2012, 1:19 PM
I don't think Batman will die, but rather Bruce Wayne will no longer exist. This will ultimately give true meaning to the film's title.
Gnyah123 - 6/6/2012, 2:41 PM
i kno this is random but yet exciting to some ppl
but did any1 jst read the article before they took it down?? about the justice league??
the new upcoming superman/man of steel movie...will be the first movie of the saga..it will be a shared universe...thats wat the recent article said...but it got taken down already..
Gnyah123 - 6/6/2012, 2:48 PM
@GUNSMITH
thats the picture i was talking about....
any1 remember the link by IMBD or w/e that basically gave away the movie...how bane kills bat and takes off his mask or it falls off and ppl of gotham and his henchmen see it was bruce n all get bane? i dont think thats true...
cuz that picture of blake and bruce u posted I THINK thats where bruce gets caught n is going to court to face the actions hes done..but i cud be wrong
with that said i also agree im not trusting any1 from this movie...I THINK bat/bruce will DIE..i HOPE HE DOESNT! but again i am ready to cry during this movie...
vonstallin - 6/6/2012, 3:24 PM
I dont think warner will let Bat Man Die.....
Tooo successful for one and even though Nolan is done with the series.... A new director can pick up and keep the same framework Nolan laid out, but in his own Vision.

Thats better than a total reboot by having batman die.
The good guys are not suppose to die.
angus666 - 6/6/2012, 3:34 PM
I love the fact that all he said was "yeah".
shadearts - 6/6/2012, 5:07 PM
are you guys serious killing of a main character is just plain stupid yeah the people who love Nolans batman would think its awesome but the general public will call this the worst batman movie ever if Alfred, Gordon, now Lucious, and especially Batman if any of these guys die you can forget about it toppling the Avengers no matter how good the story is parents wont take there kids to a movie when the hero dies
jawz270589 - 6/6/2012, 7:42 PM
It's funny how so many people here said that "Lucius is the brain, Bruce the brawn", "Bruce never invent his gadget by himself, he is stupid"..

You know, when I was kid, my father told me the story about when Bruce become Batman, how he find Batcave, make his own weapon and vehicles..
I asked him "If Bruce is a business man in the day, and a crimefighter at night, when will he has enough time to build a plane, a boat, a car, etc?"

Well, that's a question from a kid, dude...

So,if this question "If Bruce is a business man in the day, (add socialite playboy in the evening) and a crimefighter at night, when will he has enough time to build a plane, a boat, a car, etc?"

What will be your answer?
"He will.. Because HE IS THE GODDAMN BATMAANNN!!!"

how smart you are.
