Nothing major here really, but as anticipation builds for that first teaser trailer - and indeed any new official releases from the movie - a previously unseen set pic will have to keep us going for now. From left to right - Robert Gerdisch (Whitney Fordham), Jack Foley (Pete Ross), and Dylan Sprayberry (Clark Kent). Thanks to Superman Homepage for the pic.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world's beacon of hope - Superman.

Man Of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne Christopher Meloni and Harry Lennix, and will be released on June 14, 2013.

Is it bad that I'm excited that Whitney Fordman from Smallville is finally having a movie treatment? Nice casting for Pete.

I wonder if there's going to be another, ginger haired, kid who's supposed to be a young Lex Luthor in the film?

SLK - 6/27/2012, 10:38 AM
This small well-fed guy on the right - is young Clark Kent? WTF?!?
Oh, well... Cavill doesn't look like Superman, so it's logical. A PILE OF SHIT, but logical...
Fabius - 6/27/2012, 10:55 AM
Amazing...Exactely like Harry Potter without glaces...Please show us Superman in action against G ZOD !
musicsuperhero1 - 6/27/2012, 11:35 AM
@SLK the kid playing CC is on your far right, not the 'well fed' (as you put it) kid in the middle. What are you talking about, numbskull...or as Charles Barkley would say: knucklehead. ;) He looks close enough to Cavill. And Cavill looks the part just fine. My only complaint is he could be taller. But breathe easy SLK i'm just giving you grief. It's all in fun.
musicsuperhero1 - 6/27/2012, 11:38 AM
My beef with this movie as a whole is that they claimed they wanted to do something 'new' and 'different' and that Goyer and Nolan really had something. 'Don't rehash the first movie (like Singer did)' everyone agreed. So what do they do? They seemingly rehash the 2nd movie instead! lol. ...but...i do hope it's good anyway.
musicsuperhero1 - 6/27/2012, 11:43 AM
@mrtinman....I errmmm agree with your errmmm assessment regarding certain errrmmmm posting members. BTW what's with all the 'eeerrrmmmmmmmms'? haha
JorL5150 - 6/27/2012, 1:26 PM
@SLK-

cavilla looks exactly like a garcia-lopez or jurgens/thibert drawing of superman come to life.

your trollness blinds you.
kencorleone - 6/27/2012, 3:27 PM
on smallville which is recent memory pete ross is black mos he's chubby white kid and perry is black.are the black people interchangeable or is there a quota of one major character per show.not being hateful or inciting, inferring anything negative but these movies have fans of all races.
kencorleone - 6/27/2012, 3:29 PM
again welling fit the bill better than cavill. cavill height doesnt fit the character.
kencorleone - 6/27/2012, 3:43 PM
nor dos he look like supes.
mgeoff88 - 6/27/2012, 4:36 PM
It is uncanny how much Dylan Sprayberry looks like a younger version Henry Cavill.
paulyd3 - 6/27/2012, 4:43 PM
@ALF now this cat is superman!! I would say any other actor just yet !

first of all alf lets cut the name calling right now.i have a right to my own opinion.i happen to read comics,i also know that pete ross was originally white.i said its recent memory that he was white on smallville and supermans height is 6'4 cavill is 6'0 t0 6'1.no you cant actually tell on film until he stands aside other characters.personally i know that this is a standalone film but it could keep some of the same aspects as smallvile being that is the most recent interpretation out there.how often do u read?
kencorleone - 6/27/2012, 5:43 PM
no over sensitivity here,i didnt like the son comment.im a grown man and im not going to engage in internet bashing with u abt what i know. i have been a fan for years.i understand that cavill has already been chosen for the role and thats ok i agree that his version will probably be superior to routh.i was saying that in my opinion welling wouldve been a better fit.did some research do yours.
Tony93 - 6/28/2012, 11:41 AM
Well said Alf
musicsuperhero1 - 6/28/2012, 5:12 PM
@Just1Superguy....fair enough sir, fair enough...just because Zod is in it, doesn't make it a rehash. BUT I guess i'm just a little nervous after the SR debacle. Also, I just really wanted to see a new villain (ie Metallo or Brainiac). But you are indeed correct. I hope it is very original.
musicsuperhero1 - 6/28/2012, 5:14 PM
i did also conclude by saying that i am very pumped for this movie (because while I am nervous --out of my desire for it to be great)...I am, at the end of the day very optomistic about this.
