UPDATE: New TDKR Synopsis Finally Confirms Talia Al‘Ghul?

The early tracking data for The Dark Knight Rises is in, and we have managed to get hold of a brand new synopsis which is accompanying these highly confidential market research surveys..

The tracking figures for Christopher Nolan's third and final Bat-flick are in and it seems the movie is set to be a bonafide buster of blocks -- no guano right? But, The Dark Knight Rises is still tracking JUST behind Marvel's The Avengers, apparently lagging in the category of "unaided awareness" -- the percentage of people who could list it as an upcoming release without any prompting. But much more interestingly is the following synopsis for the movie which accompanies these research surveys..

In this third installment of the latest Batman franchise, a new threat arises in Gotham in the form of Bane, a nearly indestructible new enemy, who joins forces with Talia Al‘Ghul, the deadly new leader of the League of Shadows (a group Batman barely defeated in the first film); and who also happens to be the daughter of the martial arts master who originally trained Bruce Wayne. Further complicating matters, Batman must join forces with an untrustworthy new ally, in the form of Catwoman, if he is to have any chance at saving Gotham from this powerfully dangerous combined new threat.

There you go, I guess Marion Cotillard was just keeping scthum on the whole situation when she flat out denied that her character Miranda Tate was actually Talia -- although, this doesn't necessarily mean that SHE will play the character! It's not really a massive revelation anyway as we all pretty much knew Miss Al‘Ghul would make an appearance, but there ya go. Thoughts?

UPDATE: It seems this synopsis is not new at all, and has actually been floating around since last year when it was said to be attached to research survey back then too. So, this does call into question its legitimacy. I do trust my source -- who also provided details on some other movies (non CBM related) that were part of the survey, but we'll have to consider this a rumor now. Still no official confirmation for Talia!

RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 6/28/2012, 1:25 PM
Hmmmm, but is Talia Marion?
BattlinMurdock - 6/28/2012, 1:25 PM
Are the release dates for TDKR all at the same time internationally, too?
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 6/28/2012, 1:26 PM
Or is Anne Hathaway Talia, and she is there to save Bruce from Limbo and the movie ends with Leonardo Dicaprio waking up, to his children and a spinning token.
jimoakley666 - 6/28/2012, 1:27 PM
You know what'd be an even bigger surprise? If Selina Kyle was actually Talia. Ha ha.
zachshivey - 6/28/2012, 1:28 PM
Damnit! I wanted to only see this in the theatre....not read it. But it says "...in the form of catwoman" remember they said she never is referred to as "catwoman" ???
ScottPilgrim - 6/28/2012, 1:28 PM

MARVELPSYCHO79 - 6/28/2012, 1:34 PM
It's going to be great to see her reveal herself as Talia in the movie. That will be one of the best moments in the movie I bet.
marvel72 - 6/28/2012, 1:35 PM
@ maximus101

i can't see the dark knight rises beating the dark knight,i predict something between batman begins & the dark knight about $850-$900,000,000.
lukasbolander - 6/28/2012, 1:35 PM
Spoilers in the title
HelaGood - 6/28/2012, 1:38 PM

NextHero08 - 6/28/2012, 1:41 PM
Kill Bruce. Bring on Damian.
PrinceVegeta - 6/28/2012, 1:42 PM
wasnt this posted a long time ago and then debunked?
zware - 6/28/2012, 1:44 PM
@Marvel72

It's already tracking to beat The Dark Knight and there will be only more advertisements and T.V. spots in the next 3 weeks including the star studded cast giving interviews and appearing on talk shows.
BattlinMurdock - 6/28/2012, 1:44 PM
I don't know if it will beat the Avengers records, especially considering that Japan has yet to get Avengers.
coderaven - 6/28/2012, 1:45 PM
Movie will do amazing for a movie without a 3d showing, but it won't be avengers due to that and its long run time.

The only hope TDKR has to beat avengers in is critically, and substantially.

After all Avengers was an action comedy with super heroes.
TDKR seems to lean more toward an action thriller with super heroes which has no where near the market.

Marvel knows what they are doing.
dadarkknight - 6/28/2012, 1:49 PM
Mark cassidy can you stop posting spoilers in your headline topics. Even though I figured Miranda was Talia I still would like to be on the not sure side of things. I come to this site because it's the central hub for comic related stuff and if you are giving away spoliers I do not click on the topic but how can one hope to avoid spoilers if you are giving them away in your topic headlines.
thamorse - 6/28/2012, 1:52 PM
@dadarkknight. Thank you. What the hell us this new trend of posting spoilers in the [frick]ing headline?
SuperDan89 - 6/28/2012, 1:56 PM
FFS why put the spoiler in the [frick]ing title, Jesus bloody Christ!
superotherside - 6/28/2012, 1:58 PM
Figured. :)
DragonofDarknessXIII - 6/28/2012, 2:01 PM
LOl, there's spoiler on IMDB that tells the ending of TDKR.....I know its not real and its full of crap but thought I tell ya.
ISleepNow - 6/28/2012, 2:01 PM
Unfortunately this Also confirms that there will be No Ra's except in flashbacks :(
I really get the feeling we might be getting set up to see a fight between Talia and Selina that will once & for all determine if Chris Nolan can direct fight scenes or not
bestintheworld - 6/28/2012, 2:02 PM
That synopsis is 100% fake. Written too poorly to be an official release from the studio. Plus they never would give that away in a synopsis.

C'mon guys, you don't really believe it's real?
DCfan89 - 6/28/2012, 2:02 PM
i wish i hadn't read this... i knew it honestly, but i didn't know for sure.. i wanted to be pleasantly surprised. but i knew it
beane2099 - 6/28/2012, 2:05 PM
So I guess my hopes for seeing Egghead WON'T be coming true. Guess it's just as well. I don't think anyone could give the character the justice that Vincent Price gave it in the 60's.
bestintheworld - 6/28/2012, 2:14 PM
You guys are beyond gullible....
titanas - 6/28/2012, 2:15 PM
good news!
bcom77 - 6/28/2012, 2:15 PM
Word of advice for editors of this site. PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE HEADER OF YOUR ARTICLE THE ACTUAL SPOILER!!!!!! Even though some rumours turn out to be obviouslty true, some people want to know as little about a movie as possible before viewing it. If you click on a heading that's labeled *Spoiler* and choose to read it then that's of your own doing but to have the spoiler in the heading doesn't give the user the choice.
RorMachine - 6/28/2012, 2:18 PM
Jesus Christ shut up about the spoiler! It isn't a spoiler! Who didn't think Talia was in the movie?? Anyone? Bueler? This is probably the 10th article on this site to claim they may have proof that she was in the movie, and it looks like there will be more since this doesn't seem to be official.
bcom77 - 6/28/2012, 2:30 PM
@RorMachine - Yes, it's been debated on and off for ages if Marion was Talia or not but there are actually people out there, like myself, that don't want to know every little detail about the movie before actually seeing it. I know that it's almost impossible these days to avoid spoilers but article posters could at least do the people a favour and give you the choice of reading the spoiler and not just shove it in your face.
marvel72 - 6/28/2012, 2:30 PM
@ zware

the dark knight was at the cinema six months to reach a billion,i just can't see the dark knight rises doing it,the avengers & the amazing spider-man has the price of 3d tickets to boost it as well.

as said $850-$900,000,000 max,if i'm wrong i'd admit to being wrong.

i predicted the avengers would gross $850,000,000,i was wrong then.
googleplex - 6/28/2012, 2:31 PM
i'm tired of all this stuff about marion probably being talia. both nolan and marion have said that she wasn't talia, the only "confirmation" that talia is even in this movie is the fact that that a little girl told us and this synopsis for the film from about a year ago when the film was still in production.

also if you think they are lying to us to surprise us keep in mind that this is nolan. the master of secrecy. he managed to hide the fact that liam neeson was actually cast as ras al ghul. do you honestly think someone as smart as him would resort to using a twist that pretty much every fan could guess on, then cover his tracks with the 5 year old kid's argument of "nuh uh"?

while i'm not saying that talia isn't in the movie and that she won't be played by marion, i am saying is that it turns out marion is playing talia i will be pretty disappointed at nolan.
FilmsFan - 6/28/2012, 2:38 PM
Only advantage TDKR now has, is that IF Nolan & Co. do their marketing in next 3 weeks; Very Well... they might give themselves a chance to reach or might even beat Avengers opening!!

Cuz I seriously don't think it can happen cuz of 3D & more Kids (favouring Avengers)! But now as tracking is neck on neck; If TDKR team do marketing WELL, they can pull of the impossible!!
If TDKR did about 180-185, then it means it sold about the same or more tickets than Avengers! --- 3D is gona be problem! Cuz still 20-25 million$ difference is gona be just cuz of 3D!!

Anyways I think if TDKR is a great film (which I badly want), then even if it opens less than TDK, which is not gona happen, but even if it did, TDKR can cross TDK & Avengers in final BoxOffice run ... Only of its a great film!!
-Batman films perform better in long run than on weekends & as its the CONCLUSION; more attendance is natural: given its Great enough (hopefully)!!!

NOLAN : DO IT!!!
marcuskiner - 6/28/2012, 2:44 PM
Calling this bogus, as Selina is referred to as Catwoman.
PeterParker1991 - 6/28/2012, 2:49 PM
I was already aware of this but good article anyway
Fogs - 6/28/2012, 2:49 PM
Of course she is!
themediator96 - 6/28/2012, 2:56 PM
mabye she can be working behind the scenses giving bane all of his resources
Azrael725 - 6/28/2012, 3:12 PM
new pic? never seen it before. pretty cool.
TheSoulEater - 6/28/2012, 3:15 PM
Someones making Damian...
pintoman - 6/28/2012, 3:19 PM
This is the first time it occurred to me but the advertised plot may come across as a bit complicated for potential movie-goers. More characters...less color...lots of long shots. Don't get me wrong, I love Nolan's work, but not sure the story on this last hurah will market well.

Not surprised one bit if true.
TheLoveDoc - 6/28/2012, 4:10 PM
@Marvel72
It took so long for TDK because people had to hear it was good before they saw it. Batman Begins and the previous movies didn't appeal to audiences very well. That taken into consideration, I think since the public like TDK they will feel compelled to see this movie.
TheLoveDoc - 6/28/2012, 4:14 PM
@FilmsFan
I don't know why people think kids won't see TDKR. When I saw TDK there were a lot of kids. Considering the characters are a little less dark in this movie, even more parents will feel compelled to bring their kids.
