More details will be revealed on Star Wars at Comic-Con, but for now here are a few words from Dark Horse editor Randy Stradley on the decision to go back to the original trilogy's setting. Click the link back to io9 below for the full interview..

"We — the Dark Horse editorial team and the folks at Lucas Books — felt that the time was right to rack focus back on the core characters of the Original Trilogy. It has been a few years since there had been any comics stories set in the era of the OT, as it's called, and the time was just right. Both we and Lucasfilm had ideas for how to return to the classic characters, and all told it took us about a year to work out a plan with which everyone was happy."

Alex Ross cover? No way I won't get it.

Just kidding, I won't even be able to attend the event.

RexBlazer1: ...It is his art, lol.

We need a new Rogue Squadron game. A new Star Wars flight sim on one of the new systems...or just work on one for the PS4 or new Xbox launch.

As a fan of Alex Ross' work, this does not seem to be any where near what his standards for comic book art once were.

@Pepsiguy2- Agreed.

Star Wars...It even manages to F up Alex Ross's art work. That cover, for Alex Ross standards, is POOP.

To me the best Star Wars are was and will always be John Berkey. The man was a genius.

More Star Wars??? What more is there to tell?? We know how the galaxy is saved. Set it 200 hundred years in the future and tell a new story. Tired of the rehashes.

I'm glad Ross is doing Star Wars because his great cover art has been wasted on those crappy Dynamite books.

Dark Horse has quality books with nice art & writing,Dynamite books are very amateur.
