"Oz The Great and Powerful" imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

Stunning stuff eh? As a fan of The Wizard Of Oz (although really, who isn't?) I'm looking forward to this, although no Scarecrow or Tin-Man is a bit disappointing. Anyway, expect the movie March 8, 2013.

Wow, Michelle Williams grew up! When did that happen? She's not Buffy's little sister Dawn anymore, damn, time flies!

This movie sounds interesting. I might give it a viewing.

@grif Dildo spires? I totally didn't think that when I saw them :-)
Triptheorist - 7/17/2012, 12:14 PM
@Musashi Michelle Trachtenberg played Dawn Summers(Buffy's sister). Michelle Williams was on Dawson's Creek and probably better known for playing Marilyn Monroe.

@Cherrybomb
Oh snap! I had no idea Mila was in it. Who is she playing?
tweeeeenkies3 - 7/17/2012, 2:30 PM
Why does Mila "not fit"?
She is no longer playing JUST her stereotypical roles...She has been doing very deep characters. Like in The Book of Eli. She was very different in that! Maybe she wants to not only be known for one type of character.

It's good she is breaking out. She is so talented. Why judge and say it is bad casting when we have not seen the movie?
RealDealSteel - 7/17/2012, 2:43 PM
this looks like it'll be a fun movie

@Cherrybomb
Never saw that coming. I would've never thought of her as Theodora. A green Mila?.. We shall see if she does. Thanks for filling me in, pal.
