Michael Kenneth Williams In Talks For ROBOCOP
Omar comin! The Boardwalk Empire/The Wire actor looks set to join upcoming remake, and would play Alex Murphy's (Joel Kinnaman) partner should the deal go down -- presumably a substitute for the Anne Lewis character from the original..
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Kenneth Williams is in negotiations to join the already very impressive cast of Jose Padilha's remake of '80s sci-fi classic Robocop. The site report that "Williams will play the partner to Kinnaman’s police officer Alex Murphy who is tight with Murphy’s family.". This would suggest that his character will replace Officer Anne Lewis, Murphy/Robocop's partner and only friend, played so memorably by Nancy Allen in the original. Williams' most famous role was that of gay stick-up-man Omar Little in the HBO series, The Wire. He also plays Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire.
