STAR WARS TV Series May Be Headed To ABC; New Details Revealed

ABC’s Paul Lee has dropped a few more tidbits about the live-action Star Wars show that's been in the pipeline for a long time now. He says Battlestar Galactica‘s Ron Moore in on board as a writer, and a Bounty Hunter "may" be the main character. Read on for more..

Last we heard about this, Rick McCallum said that they had "binders full" of material for the show, but the major issue was how much each episode would cost to produce. Well now it seems as if ABC - a Disney subsidiary - is taking another look, with the network's president Paul Lee trying to find the best way to get Star Wars on television. "We’re going to look at [the live-action series], we’re going to look at all of them, and see what’s right". Here is an excerpt from EW's report..

The project was commissioned by longtime Lucasfilm producer Rick McCallum, who enlisted writers such as Battlestar Galactica‘s Ron Moore and swore them to NDA secrecy on the plot details… Sources say the live-action series centers on the story of rival families struggling over the control of the seedy underside of the Star Wars universe and the people who live within the subterranean level and air shafts of the metropolis planet Coruscant (the Empire’s urban-sprawl-covered home planet). A bounty hunter may be the main character. The time period allows for all sorts of potential appearances from classic figures from the Star Wars universe.

Interesting stuff eh? There is no guarantee this will happen however, as Lee admits it might be difficult to juggle a Star Wars show with the new movie coming our way in 2015, but he definitely sounds optimistic. Click the link below for the full report.

They should just make the show around smugglers and bounty hunters. So when we come across a sith or jedi they will have the impact Vader had in the original trilogy.

Along time ago
In a galaxy far away
Came a hot mess convoluted tv show that is going to make Lucas regret ever selling to Disney in the first place.

ABC don't screw this up or else the million of Star Wars fanatics are coming after you.

I like your idea @BossWalsh

Star Wars is so much more than Jedi's. At least it was until the prequels.

At this rate, that new movie is gonna get pushed back to 2016 or 2017 at the latest. In regards to this TV show, I'm very skeptical about it actually coming to fruition. And if it does, it probably won't be for another two or three years.

Wow! I actually thought they canned this live-action Star Wars TV show.

It sounds interesting. And you won't hear me complaining about more Star Wars on both the big and small screen.

Let's just hope it's Boba and not some random bounty hunter... or Bossk.
Also if it's Boba, please, don't leave it without helmet for most of the time on screen.
