This art is atrocious.
Pheezmatic - 3/5/2014, 12:20 PM
hmm..i like it :)
Nomis - 3/5/2014, 12:20 PM
What a word that's worst than atrocious. That's what that art is.
wookiefit76 - 3/5/2014, 12:21 PM
I hate this art. Hated it when it was in X-Men, and I hate it now.
MrMartinMarvel - 3/5/2014, 12:22 PM
Why is She-Hulk flying a giant penis?
blackandyellow - 3/5/2014, 12:24 PM

Love that art. Open your closed Jim Lee eyes people! ;)
Pinocchio - 3/5/2014, 12:36 PM
What in the Blue Wide World is that? It is hideous, it is awful, it is exactly what I see when I close my eyes when i'm scared..
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 3/5/2014, 12:36 PM
Great cover
CarlXVIGarfield - 3/5/2014, 12:42 PM
Love the art, I might pic up this book just cause of that!
Magus - 3/5/2014, 12:46 PM
The art is great. You guys are just one track minded. This series has potential to be the next Hawkeye.
Magus - 3/5/2014, 12:49 PM
This is part of Marvels new commitment to making comics more woman friendly. The skimpy super hero costumes are out and the females creators are in. It did wonders for Ms. Marvel and I am all for it. Young girls should have a super hero to look up to that isn't wearing a bikini with massive knockers.
InfiniteMonkey - 3/5/2014, 12:49 PM
Did they hire the writer from a childrens copy room?
What the f**k is Marvel smoking? I want some.
blackandyellow - 3/5/2014, 12:50 PM
I hate the art, too. Pulido's and Mike Allred's stuff is terrible, IMO.
Pasto - 3/5/2014, 12:52 PM
Just because not everyone like this art, doesn't mean they only enjoy Jim Lee art. Just means they have higher standards, and not every person with a sharpened pencil and a hobby of drawing can cut it.

B&y

Those are like my 2 favorite artists now with coipel and cheung! I like the variety.

Just because it isn't what you "normally" see in superhero comics doesn't mean it takes less talent. This stuff has way more original style and design to it than the same old art. Many people like variety.

Many independent comics look like this and people praise the hell out of stuff like Ghost World, Walking Dead, Hellboy, Bone and the like.

I'm not saying everyone has to like it, but it takes talent and style and originality to do work like this.
l0rdleg0las - 3/5/2014, 1:00 PM
good god. what 3rd grader did Marvel hire to draw this?
ThePowerCosmic - 3/5/2014, 1:02 PM
Batman

Also, you don't have the right to determine what art is.
DefcoN - 3/5/2014, 1:02 PM
That has always been the thing with art (even in comic books), some love it and some hate it. I hate it.

I usually like a "cleaner" look, but not as refined as Alex Ross' stuff. There's just something about Pulido and Allred's style that's off-putting to me.

Independent artists I let slide because they are exactly that, Independent Artists. Marvel is a large organization that should have the funds to hire someone that can draw well other than someone that draws like a mentally handicapped 10 year old. When you have a comic that is on shelfs worldwide, the art needs to be on point. It shouldn't look like this.
ThePowerCosmic - 3/5/2014, 1:05 PM
Oh yeah Samnee is also one of my new favorites.

Last time I checked I have free will to do whatever the hell I'd like to. So yes, I can determine what is art and what is not art in my own eyes.

Batman

I think Marvel wants more variety which I feel is a great thing. They still have the traditional types of art like Coipel and Cheung, but they mix it up to give some characters a more distinct style.

Independent art is great because like Indie films it can be more intimate and unique. It doesn't mean it is less talent.

I am in the design field. Trust me this kind if art is praised in that industry. You have every right not to like it but it is not talentless just not your thing.
FantasticSpidey - 3/5/2014, 1:10 PM
not all art is the same, nor created the same. They all have strong points and weak points, and unless you can do it better you really shouldn't talk.
ThePowerCosmic - 3/5/2014, 1:11 PM
Batman

If it's not art then what is it? Sports?
Pasto - 3/5/2014, 1:14 PM

If Marvel is trying to go the independent route, then good for them. If this is the kind of independent art they are looking for, then personally I don't like it. But some people DO like it. So good for them to.

And it's not sports, like I said, it's a hobby.
Hatsas01 - 3/5/2014, 1:15 PM
Maybe it's geared towards young kids like comics used to be
Pasto - 3/5/2014, 1:16 PM
"not all art is the same, nor created the same. They all have strong points and weak points, and unless you can do it better you really shouldn't talk."

That point starts to hold water, then the bottom of the glass falls out. If you go to a restaurant and order a burger that is raw on the inside, sits on a moldy bun, and the fries are mushy, are you not allowed to say it's disgusting because you can't cook?
SimonM7 - 3/5/2014, 1:17 PM
I don't mind minimalist. Mike Allred's stuff is AAMMAAZZINNGGG, and it conspired with Fraction's writing to make FF the loveliest book I've read in a long, long time. Hopefully Silver Surfer can follow suit.

The thing that bothers me with Javier Pulido's art isn't just the E.T faces, it's the rush-job on the inks. If only his inking wasn't garbage, it would've salvaged a lot of sub-par drawings. This is probably generous of me - to assume that he doesn't just come at a blank page with the ink brush right away, but I GUESS the proportions are good enough that I don't believe that to be the case.

They would also do well to put someone who understands the art on colouring it, so we don't get these photoshop newbie gradients everywhere. Laura Allred is perfectly attuned to her husband's drawing style, and the likes of Hollingsworth and Rodriguez have a total understanding of how to accentuate Aja's and Samnee's styles, respectively.
Hatsas01 - 3/5/2014, 1:18 PM
Sport is not the opposite of art. In fact, sports have inspired artists almost as much as sex has, 2 of ancient greek art's favorite subjects
ThePowerCosmic - 3/5/2014, 1:19 PM
I don't know who did the art for Age of Ultron interiors but to me that was pretty terrible and lacked any kind of style. I liked the story though.
charlie2094 - 3/5/2014, 1:20 PM
Art looks awesome! Love art like this and with Mike Allred's work, FF was a brilliant series, had so much character to it, instead of the usual generic comic art

Haven't read this as I have too many series', but hoping to read some day
ThePowerCosmic - 3/5/2014, 1:26 PM
Charlie

Totally agree. I have been so sick of the same old generic comic art. This kind of stuff is a breath of fresh air.
TheSoulEater - 3/5/2014, 1:27 PM
This **cking art style!!!
Pasto - 3/5/2014, 1:33 PM
Ok, I guess I can understand that people actually like this art, but to call the other art that is AWARDING WINNING generic is rather disturbing.
Pasto - 3/5/2014, 1:33 PM
Don't complain about people not enjoying art that you enjoy, then go back and say other art is generic. What kind of sense does that make?
ThePowerCosmic - 3/5/2014, 1:43 PM
Batman

Last I checked I had the right to say whatever the hell I want :)

Calling something generic and saying something is not art are two different things. I never said you had to like this art.

Stand down Batman!
