According to Screenrant.com and tv line... Glen Mazzara has mentioned that he's going to try to stay as close to the source material as possible this season. A few of the Survivors will NOT be making it out of the prison. Below is an excerpt from the screenrant.com article:

“There’s no place we won’t go. Everything is on the table. This is a cutting edge cable drama. I’m comfortable with that material and we answered a lot of these questions on say the Shield and when I worked there, so I’m comfortable dealing with very, very edgy material. That being said, you want to make sure that things are not gratuitous, that things are not offensive for the sake of being offensive. I don’t ever want the show to get too bleak. I think we’ve done a good job of creating characters that people care about. I think there’s a heart to the show.”

To read more involving the season 3 spoilers, which aren't much of spoilers but will quench your thirst for now, head on over to screenrant at the source link below.

I'm not sure if this has been posted already, I don't believe it has, but I could be wrong.

Update: Speculation on celebdirtylaundry.com says that 1 of the characters to die may be either Lori or Glenn. As we see in a preview of next week's episode we see a grave with a cross on it, probably dug by the survivors at the prison for the burial of a friend. It's currently just speculation as to who's grave it is but in the comics we know that Lori dies, and last week we saw Hershel bitten and his leg violently amputated with an ax by Rick.

Kill Lori! Hated her since the pilot...just don't touch Glenn, Daryl or Carl.

whoelsebutkevin - 10/15/2012, 11:59 PM
I enjoyed Lori in the first episode. Yes she is arguably the most annoying character on the show, but I think they are starting to do right by her. With that said, I can't wait til they kill her.
Kayo - 10/16/2012, 12:13 AM
it's gotta be Lori, though she was fine in Season One for me.
Jaspion - 10/16/2012, 12:16 AM
Rick, Glenn, Carl, Daryl, Andrea and Michonne can't die. Otherwise, show's over.
Jlocklin - 10/16/2012, 12:46 AM
it'l be Lori. but not before one of the inmates does away Beth... is it Beth?... Maggie's sister.
Queue sad horn sound, Wah Wah Whaaaaah.
Darantino - 10/16/2012, 1:35 AM
It seems, some people didn't watch the show lately... :D I hope they kill Lori. Maybe her fear from the new episode comes true, that would be sick. And it would be interesting how Rick would develope from that.

Well I know T-Dogg doesn't have long left, the actor was shopping for pilots a few months back, plus he is basically a glorified extra. Hershel won't last the season but I think he might live to see a few more episodes. Lori, HOPEFULLY, will die this season, but someone like her they'll save for a season finale, like they did with Shane.

Killing Glen would suck. I really like his character.

Dude, I'm awesome. Check what I wrote back in March.

They should have the baby die during Lori's third trimester and then reanimate in utero. Sounds awfully sick, but it would be crazy to have her lose the baby, go through all that grief and sadness and then show her laying on a cot looking at her swollen belly going over what could have been. As she mourns and rubs her hand over her stomach you see the baby kick hard. Cut to Lori's horrified face and then to black. That would be crazy!

Burst her kidneys with that [frick]ing shotgun! KILL THE WITCH!
CrowPirate1 - 10/16/2012, 4:28 AM
If you kill T-dog, you HAVE to bring in Tyresse!!.. but they are skipping right over him it looks like.

I WILL be happy if they kill Lori. BUT.. BIG question: WILL THEY BE BRAVE ENOUGH TO KILL THE BABY on TV?? oooo ooo in slo-mo? heh

ok.. I just sickened myself! lol
birdfists - 10/16/2012, 5:17 AM
Beth is going to be murdered by one of the prison inmates..

'staying as close to source material as possible' basically confirms that. That or Carol will kill herself by way of walker like in the comic.
marvel72 - 10/16/2012, 5:51 AM
kill lori,carl & t-dog can't stand these characters.
michaman - 10/16/2012, 6:22 AM
Didn't anyone think it was odd that Beth got so much attention in the first episode, even though a lot of it was just with no dialogue?

Surely this must be building up her character to have a deeper connection and shock with the audience for when she's killed.

I've been ghosting on this site for years, but finally decided to join. As far a Laura is concerned, I think she deserves some partial slack. She's been characterized as a "slut," "whore," and worse. The truth is, when she hooked up with Shane, she thought she was a widow. As soon as she realized Rick was alive, she broke it off with Shane. It really wasn't her fault she slept with two men, especially since there was no overlap. Just my opinion.
StrangerX - 10/16/2012, 6:47 AM
Lori's annoying
Extricator - 10/16/2012, 7:01 AM
Only Lori would crash a car on a road with no other cars.Take his wife, please.
SpiderHyphenMan - 10/16/2012, 7:25 AM
^HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!
MisterNiceGuy - 10/16/2012, 7:28 AM
it will be Lori. not bc of the comic but bc you can tell they are trying to have the audience like her again by having her realize she is a burden and sucks as a person. so just when the audience finally goes "awww shes not so bad" BOOM she bites the dust
MisterNiceGuy - 10/16/2012, 7:35 AM
My only problem is, at the end of season 2 they settled just a couple yards away from the prison right? If Lori's baby is due soon, and Carl went through puberty and since they mentioned winter a few times it is safe to assume that close to 9 months have passed. Are they that lost that they have been running in circles around the same prison for 9 months looking for an alternate route to wherever they are headed? Or am I missing something? I also do remember them saying they have been going in circles but thats alot of time to pass with absolutely no progress.
HelaGood - 10/16/2012, 8:06 AM
yeah lori needs to go. keep glenn!
MisterNiceGuy - 10/16/2012, 8:09 AM
^ haha "you nerds" ... douchebag
FlappyJax - 10/16/2012, 8:24 AM
@overtappeal: You're the retard here. You clearly knows nothing about Walking Dead. Characters survive bites and servered limbs in the comic all the time. Severing the bitten area stops the infection from spreading. *spoilers* Michonne and Governor survive herendous torture at each other's hands, Rick gets his hand cut off, and Carl gets his eye shot out FFS. As for Glenn, You're completely wrong about him. He doesn't suddenly "become badass." Before the zombie apocalypse, He was a car thief. Most "nerds" can't really relate to a fracking criminal.
GIFfreyGinsberg - 10/16/2012, 8:31 AM
Please keep Glenn! I'm fine with them killing off major characters, it's just too soon for him. It would be impressive if they stayed true to the books in dealing with Lori's death.
ISeeStupidPeople - 10/16/2012, 9:00 AM
@overtappeal

Glenn may be one of my favorite characters in the show, but he is not and has never been a "badass." In fact, I'd say he's a bit of a wimp. His girlfriend has more badass cred than him.

*Spoilers*

As for the next person to die, it will be either Hershel or Beth. I think Beth will be murdered by one of the convicts like what happened to the twins... it's honestly kind of a shame Andrea's not there, because this is the moment for me where she graduated from a red shirt to a full on badass. I sincerely hope she doesn't just become more and more annoying as season 3 continues... like what happened in season 1 and 2.
KickUrBooty - 10/16/2012, 9:12 AM
They'll probably throw a curb and have Lori's baby die; you never know.
THEBAMF - 10/16/2012, 9:15 AM
Hershel isn't going to die until the baby is delivered. After that, it's bye bye. Lori will die soon after that. As for the next one to go, it will be Maggie's sister. One of the inmates will get her. This season is going to be good. I don't really like any of the women on this show... just Maggie...and now Michonne. They can kill all of the rest as far as I'm concerned.
KickUrBooty - 10/16/2012, 9:17 AM
....and that will explain the grave we saw. I don't think they want to kill her (Lori) character off yet.
CorndogBurglar - 10/16/2012, 9:27 AM
People should really read the comics.

Lori will have the baby and they will both be killed when the Governor attacks at the end of the season. Along with some others.

If they have the baby born a zombie it would be a cheap ripoff of Dawn of the Dead.
MisterNiceGuy - 10/16/2012, 9:53 AM
Reading the comics is irrelivant they already said countless times they will not stay true to the comics for that reason alone.
Bigred20 - 10/16/2012, 10:08 AM
Kill Carl
I hate that kid!
l0rdleg0las - 10/16/2012, 10:24 AM
Kill Lori and Carl. Carl's storyline changed when they killed Sophia, might as well rub out the most annoying characters.
fartman844 - 10/16/2012, 10:58 AM
it will be beth by one of the inmates. remember, this seasons focus is the human threats they will face
