First Clip From OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL Arrives

Oz: The Great And Powerful's Rachel Weisz was on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, and she brought with her a first clip from the Sam Raimi (Spider-Man) directed film featuring Evanora and Mila Kunis' Theodora.

Disney's fantastical adventure Oz: The Great And Powerful, directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

When small-time magician Oscar Diggs pulls one flimflam too many, he finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great and powerful Wizard—and just maybe into a better man as well.

Oz: The Great And Powerful stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams. The film is set to hit theaters March 8th.

This is exactly what a Disney animated film would like if you made it with real people.

For those who can't watch the video embedded (I hate Springboard too), click the source link to directly watch the clip on YouTube.

Springboard? It's on YouTube for me. But I also hate Springboard, so much advertisements every single time you watch a video then it has the audacity to load slow.

Wow, even the acting looks good! The more I see of this the more excited I am for it!!!!!

Jesus lord she is so beautiful

Well if it wasn't all but confirmed that Mila Kunis was the Wicked witch through the trailers, that clip and Rachel saying she's the witch of the East does.

I f*ucking despise Springboard more than anything in the world. They have no problem playing their ads before your video, but when it comes time to watch your video, it takes forever to load (or doesn't load at all).

Anyway, the clip was pretty good. Despite James Franco's insufferable acting, I might check this movie out.

That scene seems to take place early on in the movie, so I don't think that Mila Kunis' character being the Wicked Witch is that much of a twist.

I'm interested in seeing her developing into the Wicked Bi-- I mean Witch of the West throughout the film, it will keep me watching.

This movie seems to be so good... Can't wait to watch it... Hope it'll do a great business at box-office...!!!

Movie looks kinda ridiculous, but putting these two as sisters is a nice bit of casting.

Remind me again, why does Jimmy Kimmel have a late night show?
Taboggon - 2/17/2013, 1:10 PM
just wondering, in the original movie, and in Return to Oz, it is strongly implied that Dorothy dreams the whole thing, which wouldn't leave much room for a Dorothy-less prequel.
Maybe it's different in the original books.
