Nine Enchanting New Clips From FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM; Plus B-Roll Footage

The epic Harry Potter saga may have ended over five years ago, but fortunately for fans, the magical J.K. Rowling still had a few more stories left to tell and in two weeks, we'll all get to witness the first of the five planned films with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which stars Academy Award-winner Eddie Redmayne as the storied magizoologist Newt Scamander.

He'll be joined by an all-new cast featuring Katerine Waterston (Steve Jobs), Dan Fogler (Kung Fu Panda), Alison Sudol (Dig), Colin Farrell (The Lobster), Ezra Miller (Justice League), Samantha Morton (Minority Report), Jon Voight (Mission: Impossible), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), and Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) in a mysterious cameo appearance. Current tracking places the film's domestic opening weekend at around $70-75 million, possibly more, which while not quite on the same level as the Potter films in their heyday, should still be a more than solid debut for the world's reintroduction into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Over the past week, Warner Bros. Pictures has released nine new clips from the David Yates-directed film offering our first real look at the magical adventure. Check them out below:

There are growing dangers in the wizarding world of 1926 New York. Something mysterious is leaving a path of destruction in the streets, threatening to expose the wizarding community to the Second Salemers, a fanatical faction of No-Majs (American for Muggles) bent on eradicating them. And the powerful, dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, after wreaking havoc in Europe, has slipped away…and is now nowhere to be found.

Unaware of the rising tensions, Newt Scamander arrives in the city nearing the end of a global excursion to research and rescue magical creatures, some of which are safeguarded in the hidden dimensions of his deceptively nondescript leather case. But potential disaster strikes when unsuspecting No-Maj Jacob Kowalski inadvertently lets some of Newt’s beasts loose in a city already on edge—a serious breach of the Statute of Secrecy that former Auror Tina Goldstein jumps on, seeing her chance to regain her post. However, things take an ominous turn when Percival Graves, the enigmatic Director of Magical Security at MACUSA (Magical Congress of the USA), casts his suspicions on both Newt…and Tina.

Now allied, Newt and Tina, together with Tina’s sister, Queenie, and their new No-Maj friend, Jacob, form a band of unlikely heroes, who must recover Newt’s missing beasts before they come to harm. But the stakes are higher than these four outsiders—now branded fugitives—ever imagined, as their mission puts them on a collision course with dark forces that could push the wizarding and No-Maj worlds to the brink of war.

I love how the lead in this flick portrays himself as a badass in public now that hes in a harry potter flick. he was wearing a tough guy black leather jacket and all i could think of was the tough girls from facts of life or jessie spano's replacement on saved by the bell.
