New Poster For Sam Raimi's OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL

A brand international one-sheet is now online for Walt Disney Pictures & Sam Raimi's fantasy adventure film, Oz The Great and Powerful. Hit the jump to check it out...

“Oz The Great and Powerful” imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

Directed by Sam Raimi and starring James Franco, Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff, Oz The Great and Powerful is set to hit theatres on March 8, 2013.

Anyways, does anybody know what's going on with the other "Oz" based movies? I know I remember hearing about more besides this one

Beautiful.

And, those winged monkeys. Perhaps my favorite story element from the original Wizard of Oz story.
scrzy - 11/8/2012, 10:31 AM
Alice in Wonderland was really good! But this movie looks like garbage.
FoxForce5 - 11/8/2012, 10:35 AM
Looking forward to this but I know I'll judge all Oz stories against the Wicked books and that's gong to be a tough climb for this to live up to but perhaps I'll just take my daughter and be able to forget about the Gregory McGuire series for a couple of hours.

mini morgan freeman!!!
myparentsaredead - 11/8/2012, 11:18 AM
This looks exactly the same as Alice In Wonderland, the poster at least. The trailer seems a little more tongue-in-cheek than that other monstrosity, but I don't have much hope. I hope I'm wrong, as I love Raimi, so let's see.

A little Sam Riami classic horror moment at the last part of that trailer. The poster looks colorful too. Should be amazing in 3D.
Minghagz - 11/8/2012, 2:13 PM
This poster was inspired by Disneyland.
-Castle off in the distance in the middle
-Matterhorn mountain look-a-like to the right
-Tea Cups

Of course... it is a Disney movie.
BlackFlash - 11/8/2012, 2:29 PM
@HachibiTheMC - What the hell are you doing here shouldn't you be backing Naruto in the war.

Looks very interesting and yes it does look just as artificial as Alice in Wonderland, but that doesn't bother me to much.
Funsize - 11/8/2012, 3:45 PM

Not overly keen. What ever happened to John Boorman's animated version of Oz? That looked amazing.
Minghagz - 11/9/2012, 6:49 AM
