Feel like they dropped the ball on these 100th anniversary covers.
TempleRod
TempleRod - 6/13/2023, 5:31 AM
@regularmovieguy - They don't have to care.
The usual fetishists will line up in droves to buy this out.
Regardless of what cover is on it.

@regularmovieguy - all they had to do was flip the inside and outside, problem solved. This looks boring af

Tonic24k - 6/13/2023, 4:44 PM
@bobevanz - It's just minimalist. As all the 100th versions are.
TempleRod
TempleRod - 6/13/2023, 5:30 AM
Yawn. Why would anyone buy this?
I know the MCU is a fetish for some of you,
But this is just laughable. You guys are even worse than sheep.
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 6/13/2023, 6:50 AM
@TempleRod - For the same reason people buy all those re-releases of Superman the Movie.
TempleRod
TempleRod - 6/13/2023, 6:53 AM
@PlusUltra - Look, I do believe Iron Man 1 merits some love.
It's a great movie.
But it's funny to see you try to compare it to Superman the Movie.
LOL.

You guys really reaching now.

quas95 - 6/13/2023, 7:32 AM
@TempleRod - I love the MCU (not recently though) but you're right it's a shit looking steel book. Unfortunately there are a huge majority of MCU heads who have fallen for crap hook line and sinker. It's probably why Disney thinks it could get away with putting out BS
JohnPain
JohnPain - 6/13/2023, 7:33 AM
@TempleRod -

Superman the movie is a film of its time. It wasn’t some kind of masterpiece in 1978 and it isn’t now.

It’s a good film.
quas95
quas95 - 6/13/2023, 7:35 AM
@PlusUltra - Sure but dude admit this release is shit. It's ok to love Marvel and still call them out.
FireandBlood

@quas95 - Well, I ain’t buying it 🤷‍♂️

@TempleRod - What's worse than sheep are the contrarian complainers that think their pissy outlook is anything but obnoxious. The whole "if I don't like it, no one should" bullshit is getting really stupid.

I love Iron Man, but I feel like it gets celebrated every year at this point.

The Avengers' 10th anniversary was last year and it flew completely under the radar. Which is a real shame because the gamble of The Avengers was just as big if not bigger than Iron Man. I hope it wasn't to do with avoiding having to acknowledge Joss Whedon.

And yet, it still won't have the bonus features from the first release.

Remember a time when most mcu fans will only talk about theories and related stuff

Now we all talk about gender politics, representation and the like.

Disney ruined it

TempleRod
TempleRod - 6/13/2023, 7:09 AM
@vectorsigma - Every single move.
Disney brings something PC into it.
Not talking about this cover. This cover just sucks, I can't imagine why anyone would simp enough to buy it.

But I mean Disney has been peddling Pedophilia for decades.
Everyone strangely seems fine with that.

EskimoJ - 6/13/2023, 10:05 AM

15 years later, still one of the absolute best.

CAPTAINPINKEYE
CAPTAINPINKEYE - 6/13/2023, 6:43 AM
Disney had no part in making Iron Man.
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 6/13/2023, 6:50 AM
@CAPTAINPINKEYE - They own the company that did.
TempleRod
TempleRod - 6/13/2023, 6:55 AM
@CAPTAINPINKEYE - This is probably the best most cogent point.

Because Iron Man 1, is great. It is a great movie. Not as good as a lot of other movies, but still great.

But real point is that... Disney didn't make it.
Probably why it was as good as it is.

Definitely not like the Marvels or Ant-Man kind of slop they put out every few months now.
CAPTAINPINKEYE
CAPTAINPINKEYE - 6/13/2023, 7:17 AM
@PlusUltra - paramount?
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 6/13/2023, 8:13 AM
@CAPTAINPINKEYE - Marvel Studios. Paramount distributed the movie.
CAPTAINPINKEYE
CAPTAINPINKEYE - 6/13/2023, 9:34 AM
@PlusUltra - movie was filmed in 2007? Marvel sold to Disney 2009? I don’t see how this is a Disney made movie. I know they own it now but how did they play a role in making it?
CAPTAINPINKEYE
CAPTAINPINKEYE - 6/13/2023, 9:39 AM
@PlusUltra - industrial light and magic only did special effects.Jon Favreau was totally in charge of the way the film was made with no interference.
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 6/13/2023, 9:48 AM
@CAPTAINPINKEYE - I never said it was. It’s a movie made by Marvel Studios, who Disney now own. Paramount didn’t produce the movie, Marvel Studios did. Paramount just distributed the movie. That’s why Disney acquired Marvel Studios, not Paramount. Disney also now own the distribution rights to Iron Man, which is why Paramount no longer have anything to do with the movie.
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 6/13/2023, 9:54 AM
@CAPTAINPINKEYE - Before Disney acquired Marvel, Marvel Studios used a few distributors. Paramount was one them, as was Universal (who still have the distribution rights to the Hulk). But neither studio was involved in the making process of the movie. That was all Marvel Studios, whose only parent company prior to the Disney acquisition was Marvel Entertainment.
CAPTAINPINKEYE
CAPTAINPINKEYE - 6/13/2023, 10:40 AM
@PlusUltra - you wrote “They own the company that did.”
What company are you referring to?
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 6/13/2023, 10:44 AM
@CAPTAINPINKEYE - Marvel
CAPTAINPINKEYE
CAPTAINPINKEYE - 6/13/2023, 11:07 AM
@PlusUltra - dude this is how this ridiculous conversation started.
I wrote a general comment saying,
“Disney had no part in making this movie.”
You wrote “They own the company that did.”
Yes now they own it but they didn’t own it then.
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 6/13/2023, 11:41 AM
@CAPTAINPINKEYE - Right but now they do, so what’s your point? Iron Man is now a Disney character. They own the characters, the studio that did make the movie, and the distribution rights. So why wouldn’t they re-release to 1st movie in their biggest franchise to celebrate Disney100?
CAPTAINPINKEYE
CAPTAINPINKEYE - 6/13/2023, 12:43 PM
@PlusUltra - they could do whatever they want all I said it that THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MAKING OF THIS MOVIE.
You threw in your 2 cents. The movie was made in a time when a director actually was the boss of a movie.
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 6/13/2023, 1:13 PM
@CAPTAINPINKEYE - And all I said was they own the studio that did. 🤷‍♂️
CAPTAINPINKEYE
CAPTAINPINKEYE - 6/13/2023, 3:03 PM
@PlusUltra - now they do.
