Judge Dredd Judge Dredd is an American law enforcement officer in a violent city of the future where uniformed Judges combine the powers of police, judge, jury and executioner. Dredd and his fellow Judges are empowered to arrest, sentence and even execute criminals on the spot. It first leaped from comics to screen in 1995 with Slyvester Stallone and is currently being rebooted with Karl Urban.
DREDD was arguably up there with The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises as one of the best comic book movies of 2012, and in the following interview, the actor who played the iconic 2000AD character hints that with enough fan support, a sequel COULD still happen.
Unfortunately a sequel to the awesome DREDD is unlikely but the man who played 'ol stoney face, Star Trek Into Darkness' Karl Urban, seems up for reprising the role if he got the chance. He also talks about a potential part in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars Episode VII.

Adi Shankar, producer of Dredd 3D and the short film Punisher: #DirtyLaundry, conducted an Ask Me Anything on Reddit on 20 March 2013. He discussed Dredd and confirmed that while there would likely be no sequel, he was working on a Dredd short film in the same spirit as Punisher: #DirtyLaundry.

I'll tell you what, Dredd had better sell like hotcakes when the film is released on Blu-ray and DVD January 8, or that will most likely be the last time I see a live-action version of the character in my lifetime.
