Brad Peyton Hired By Warner Bros. To Write And Direct LOBO

Brad Peyton, who recently found success with Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, has been hired by Warner Bros. to write and direct the long gestating big screen adaptation of Lobo.

Deadline reports that Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton will rewrite and direct Lobo for Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman are set to produce. This will come as good news for comic book fans who have been hoping that the studio would start bringing more than just the likes of Batman and Superman to the big screen. There's no word on a release date just yet, but stay tuned to CBM for further details over the coming weeks and months.

Journey 2 director? Umm, hmm...

Hoping for the best.
PaulRom - 4/20/2012, 11:41 AM
What Wolvie said.
PaulRom - 4/20/2012, 11:44 AM
To be fair, though, it's not surprising that WB wanted Peyton to direct another one of their films after how successful Journey 2 was.
AlSimmons - 4/20/2012, 12:00 PM
Wait so... Lobo gets his own flick before Wonder Woman? Is DC even trying to set up a Justice League?
Shaman - 4/20/2012, 12:02 PM
Get Jeffrey Dean Morgan for LOBO!!!

alexi52 - 4/20/2012, 12:04 PM
awsome this movie is still going on

GreyChaos13Zero - 4/20/2012, 12:04 PM
Lobo movie would be great but he's a tricky character to get right. can't wait too hear more tho?)
OnLeatherWings - 4/20/2012, 12:05 PM
Journey 2 successful? Lobo is cool but why now? They're focus should be on flash gl and wonderwoman and getting those properties which are relevant for a jla movie. Fail WB you suck. Guarantee this will be a Shitty February release like ghost rider and jona hex
marvel72 - 4/20/2012, 12:05 PM
yes to a lobo movie, try someone new for a change stop relying on batman all the time.

but the director of cats & dogs the revenge of kitty galore & journey 2 is a no no.
BlueMex - 4/20/2012, 12:11 PM
WTF!! WB what are you doing!??
TerminatorMode - 4/20/2012, 12:11 PM
ive been hoping for a long time to see the main man on the big screen - good stuff even though guy ritchie might have been the better choice
Dynamo - 4/20/2012, 12:11 PM
1. It's going to be shit. 2. WB focus on making a Flash or Wonder Woman movie FOR [frick]'S SAKE!
superotherside - 4/20/2012, 12:13 PM
Hmmmm... why do a character like him though? Why not the Flash or WW or someone? Oh well. Hoping for the best... preparing for the worst.
SeriousJokester - 4/20/2012, 12:13 PM
I never understood why companies would want to put their lesser characters onscreen before doing so with the more established recognizable ones, in this case Lobo before Wonder Woman. I'd like to see a live action Lobo, just dont get the strategy.
OnLeatherWings - 4/20/2012, 12:15 PM
WB is turning into a shitfest. Much like fox. God I hope they.don't Fck superman up
ThaMessenger07 - 4/20/2012, 12:15 PM
Yes Please!

hartley07 - 4/20/2012, 12:15 PM
Does DC have a quota of bad cbms they have to make before they make a good one? QUIT DICKIN AROUND AND MAKE WW OR FLASH.
ThaMessenger07 - 4/20/2012, 12:18 PM
"Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton will rewrite and direct Lobo for Warner Bros."

^^ Means The Rock is going to play him...I guess....

KidDynamo0 - 4/20/2012, 12:23 PM
@AlSimmons - agreed. How the [frick] are you going to past over 1 part of the holy trinity of DC characters for!
Ghostfire - 4/20/2012, 12:24 PM
As much as I like Lobo, and like my pal IM53 said, he's a badass; he shouldn't get a film before The Flash or WW.

WB is seriously going about it the wrongway. I hope I'm proven wrong, but WW & The Flash deserve justice before anybody else.
OnLeatherWings - 4/20/2012, 12:25 PM
This is pathetic WB. DC needs to breakaway from WB
ecksmanfan - 4/20/2012, 12:25 PM
I think Messy just hit the nail on the head with that comment.
RocketMadnessBoss - 4/20/2012, 12:27 PM
Jon Farveu directed Elf before Iron Man. Remember that. ELF.
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/20/2012, 12:27 PM
I have a baaaad feeling about this!:(

Kevin Durand would be cool Lobo.

Dont kill me if i say that i could see Hugh Jackman as Lobo too.
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/20/2012, 12:28 PM
TheMess@ I hope you are wrong!
JDUKE25 - 4/20/2012, 12:35 PM
Yeah....I like Lobo, but as it's been said it's not right for Lobo to get a movie and yet again WW and Flash snubbed.

Fogs - 4/20/2012, 12:37 PM

Lobo is BOSS!

Just make sure to make it Rated R, WB.

prettynuclear2 - 4/20/2012, 12:45 PM
Journey 2 made about 60 million more dollars than John Carter
johnmarston - 4/20/2012, 12:52 PM
dude ELF was awesome.
HelaGood - 4/20/2012, 12:55 PM
this movie just seems so easy to make to me. why the [frick] cant WB just do it? oh thats right... because its WB...
DaenerysTargaryen - 4/20/2012, 12:59 PM
Great! Another film to add to my "I dont care" list
GiantNerd - 4/20/2012, 1:02 PM
Gotta be rated r.
Talontd - 4/20/2012, 1:12 PM
Dont care...
Talontd - 4/20/2012, 1:12 PM
Oh, and NO WAY will this movie be rated R... way in hell.
Dev - 4/20/2012, 1:15 PM
Guaranteed shit film in the making on the levels of Ghost Rider and Jonah Hex bad. smh. DC / WB never ceases to FAIL with their comic book properties.
drykillogic22 - 4/20/2012, 1:19 PM
GiantNerd - 4/20/2012, 1:22 PM
I do kind of sense some FAIL happening here as well. I hope it works out though.
Zarog - 4/20/2012, 1:26 PM
Lobo coming before Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, or Martian Manhunter? Interesting. The Punisher, Ghost Rider, Wolverine's one-off, Jonah Hex, Daredevil, and Elektra (the darker characters brought to the silver screen) just haven't been good, and I'll be surprised if this one is.
AsianVersionOfET - 4/20/2012, 1:27 PM
Not a good directing choice at ALL.
PsyGuy - 4/20/2012, 1:35 PM
