Brief "Logline" For The LOBO Movie Released

Brief "Logline" For The LOBO Movie Released

It's On The Grid have posted a short synopsis for the upcoming Lobo movie, giving us some idea of what we can expect from the story. We also seem to have confirmation that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will play the DC anti-hero..

Thanks to, we now have an idea of the plot for Warner Bros. currently in development Lobo movie. If their report is accurate, Lobo's first big screen outing won't be a space set adventure, but will see the infamous bounty hunter travel to Earth to hunt down some bad (well, badder) guys..

As you can see, it would also appear that Dwayne Johnson has officially signed on to play the part.

intresting,i'm glad dc are trying different heroes other than just relying on batman & superman all the time.

just don't f*ck it up like you did with green lantern.
marvel72 - 9/9/2012, 7:09 AM
i'm not sure the rock is the right choice for lobo,i'll have to wait & see him in all the gear.

the rock for black adam.
PaulRom - 9/9/2012, 7:12 AM
I like the idea of The Rock playing Lobo, but there's no denying that he'd be perfect for Black Adam. I'm just concerned about their choice of director for this flick.
BruceLeroy - 9/9/2012, 7:15 AM
The Rock is a good choice for Lobo.
lunesta - 9/9/2012, 7:17 AM

What is WB's obsession with getting Lobo off the ground?
Lobo sucks. Get Wonder Woman done.
Jolt17 - 9/9/2012, 7:39 AM
I am not that much familiar with the character; but, I'm definitely interested in seeing this, of course. That plot synopsis attracts me even more. However, whether it will appeal to the general audiences or not, I am not sure yet.

The Rock IS Black Adam, though. I'd certainly be glad if he's out from this project just to take the role of Black Adam...especially, if the likes of Kevin Durand is his replacement.
knighted - 9/9/2012, 7:39 AM
Not sure about the rock as lobo. Seems like an odd choice. Just as the fact that they are even considering doing a movie on the character.
silverdog - 9/9/2012, 7:42 AM
well, at least they are trying something with another character.. lets see how long before they ruin it with the "its based on an alien bounty hunter, but is gonna be "realistic" crap.
DaenerysTargaryen - 9/9/2012, 7:43 AM
A lobo movie before Wonder Woman or Flash? Uhh.....ok WB
Tanngnjostr - 9/9/2012, 7:44 AM
This will be some kind of Men In Black...
GetsugaTensho22 - 9/9/2012, 7:46 AM
And how legit is this source, exactly?
Bread - 9/9/2012, 7:50 AM
It would be ridiculous if JL came out in 2015, we'd have JL and Avengers2 in one year. It'll be a bloodbath
DrRockso - 9/9/2012, 7:53 AM
Andrew Byniarski shoulda got it
OtakuPapi - 9/9/2012, 8:07 AM
you know The Rock can do Rockstar lol! I can actually see this being good in my mind.Give the proper amount of violence and Lobo like mannerisms! And a epic score! @Protecter: New 52 Aquaman is movie ready
Teacherhst - 9/9/2012, 8:18 AM
I think Rock would do well as Kratos in the God of War series. There aren't too many people who could pull off the look and have some acting, action skills.
gleetana - 9/9/2012, 8:19 AM
and to make it "realistic" it's going to be 99% on earth, with lobo using some alien thingamabob to look like the rock for most of the movie....
SuperPickle - 9/9/2012, 8:19 AM
I don't know about this. Johnson's not bad but I don't really see him as Lobo. His manner isn't right. Jeffery Dean Morgan, as someone above said, would seem a better choice. I can't imagine Johnson with all that hair. lol
Afro - 9/9/2012, 8:22 AM
First and for most if it isn't a R rating then it's a waist of time. Second if the spirit follows more humans like what they did in Transformers than the actual main character its going to be bad. Last If they don't reveal or show how he killed his entire race to become the badass that he is then its going to be crap. Yes Rock is a better Black Adam.
Afro - 9/9/2012, 8:23 AM
I agree with Grif also.
Supes17 - 9/9/2012, 8:26 AM
I doubt this movie will get positive reviews
ThePowerCosmic - 9/9/2012, 8:29 AM
Hmmm...Dwayne Johnson and a Lobo movie not set in space? It looks like DC/WB just wants to fail. I have as much hope for this as I did for the Sly Stallone Judge Dredd. This will be boring and predictable if it is set on earth. A space adventure would have made this unique.

Please let Man of Steel be good. That at least looks set in the right direction. Get it together WB/DC.
NeoBaggins - 9/9/2012, 8:35 AM
The art of doing it wrong.
UltimaRex - 9/9/2012, 8:35 AM
Oh god, I hope they're NOT tying this into JL. Lobo was totally spacebound last I heard...
CaptainObvious - 9/9/2012, 8:39 AM
Why do these morons at WB think people want to see Z-list characters on the big screen before any of the popular ones?

Wonder Woman or Flash first, probably-going-to-be-crappy-Lobo film later.
Maximus101 - 9/9/2012, 8:40 AM
Smells like a disaster Brewing.
Lowell58 - 9/9/2012, 8:42 AM
Ironman wasn't a household name... just saying. I think Lobo would be a good mix of fun and "darkness." A lot of potential, and I honestly think more intriguing than a Flash movie.
Oxbow - 9/9/2012, 8:48 AM
Yoss-95% accurate conversation

Making lobo before JL + casting "the Rock" as Lobo = NO credibility
thewolfx - 9/9/2012, 8:51 AM
as much as i love the best wrestler of all times

he shouldnt be lobo

the rock is black adam damnit .
batmitedimension - 9/9/2012, 8:51 AM
They're going to mess this up, aren't they? I really hope they don't...but pretty sure they will. I have a feeling this will turn out to be DC's Ghost Rider.
NeoBaggins - 9/9/2012, 8:56 AM
@Lowell58 Iron Man and THOR may not have been household names, but they were part of MARVEL's top known characters right behind the X-MEN's and Spider-men. DC has more near household names outside of Batman and Superman that it is beyond retardism to keep pulling Jonah Hex' out of their ass. Lobo is an interesting choice, but wrong for the moment and horrendously miscast with a guy I actually like, but understand to be a low-budget draw.
AC1 - 9/9/2012, 8:58 AM
I'm not sure what to think of this, it's cool DC are trying new characters on the big screen but they should focus on characters like Wonder Woman, Flash, and getting Green Lantern right.

Lobo better not be a part of the Justice League when that's made...
AC1 - 9/9/2012, 8:59 AM
And yeah, while The Rock seems enthusiastic enough about the project, he's not right for the role.
jackdawak - 9/9/2012, 9:00 AM
NOOOOOO!!!! WTH does The Rock know about comic books and Lobo!!
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 9/9/2012, 9:00 AM
Don't see it being successful.
RamonSuarez - 9/9/2012, 9:01 AM
Wow. I really don't know whether to laugh or shake my head in disappointment. Again, DC-Warner shows why it doesn't have a clue.
sbdc1939 - 9/9/2012, 9:14 AM
so will superman beat the rocks ass in a future movie
Marqy47 - 9/9/2012, 9:16 AM

DC already has their fair share of ghost-riders ...
