Lion’s Gate inked a licensing deal with Marvel for Iron Fist and Black Widow as separate motion pictures. Lion’s Gate is also putting out The Punisher film, debuting April 16.

Actor/stuntman Ray Park has been in talks about playing the lead in Iron Fist for a couple of years. The comic is centered on an American orphan raised by mystic monks to be a supernaturally powerful martial artist.

Black Widow is the story of a beautiful Russian spy who during the height of the Cold War switched sides and fought along side America’s greatest superheroes.

"Working with Lions Gate on 'The Punisher' was a great experience and we feel very comfortable expanding this relationship to include two more exciting franchises," commented Marvel Studios exec Avi Arad. "We are already starting on 'The Punisher II', which will become the fifth Marvel property to become a sequel."
