My cast for CONAN and a bit of my own ideas for the characters and plot.
Since the CONAN movie has been in the news lately it got me to thinking about doing a CONAN movie fancast.
The CONAN movie needs to be epic like “Troy”, with gritty realism like The 300 and capture the feel of the CONAN pulp stories which I thought Marvel’s Conan did with John Bescema’s artwork. Conan is definitely not a movie for the kiddies!
I would simply entitle the movie: CONAN.
CONAN is a CIMMIRIAN which is the ancient Kelts or Celts. His name is a Gaelic name pronounced CONUN, not CO-NAN! That’s so idiotic to pronounce it like that! It’s pronounced like “Conan” in the names “ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE or “CONAN O’BRIEN”! Keltic “CONAN” means KING! That's the way Robert E. Howard wrote him.
Conan’s main enemy of course is the Stygian (Ancient Egypt) serpent sorcerer, THOTH AMON. But I would have THOTH AMON’S main sorcerer henchman be the main antagonist in the movie and he would be Stygian sorcerer, CHUMA (full name: CHUMA-SET). CHUMA is a powerful war-sorcerer who can shape-shift into a deadly man-lizard.
His sorceress aid is his Stygian wife, KANIKA, she is a war-sorceress and a powerful lizard-woman. CHUMA’S main henchman is immensely strong gigantic Aesir (Norse) mercenary warrior, EINBORG.
The good guys on Conan’s side are Hyrkanian (ancient Mongolia-northeastern Persia) war-sorcerer, JUNGZOU, who is a shape-shifting man-panther, his sorceress daughter, XIOALING (SHOULING) who’s a shape-shifting panther-girl, and big prematurely white-haired Aesir mercenary, BRANDR.
JUNGZOU is murdered at the beginning of the movie by CHUMA and his wife and his henchmen under orders from THOTH AMON, which launches the story of CONAN, XIAOLING, and BRANDR’S quest for justice and vengeance against CHUMA and his vile reptilian bunch! There only needs to be a brief history of CONAN'S early life in the very beginning of the film.
