The Dark Knight, the eagerly-anticipated sequel to Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins (2005) is being produced with shots specifically designed for release in IMAX theaters. While it is somewhat common for popular film releases to be re-formatted for the 15/70 IMAX format, The Dark Knight will be the first major motion picture film to blend traditional and IMAX filming techniques.
