50 years ago to this day we were introduced to The Amazing Spider-Man in Amazing Fantasy #15.

Throughout the years we have been treated to a number of variations, from the classic Spider-Man to the more recent white and black Spider-Man who is part of the Fantastic Four.

This infographic celebrates those fifty years by taking a brief look at his history, covering his different suits, his loves and famous faces that he has appeared alongside.

The infographic also takes a look at the movies and the top five Spider-Man comics and how much they are worth. As reported in an earlier article Amazing Fantasy #15 sold for $1.1 million!

So what has been your favourite Spider-Man storyline over the past 50 years? Do you have a favourite suit? What is the most valuable Spider-Man comic you own?

Holy! The secret wars issue with the intro of the black suit is actually worth $666.66?! I have several sitting in overstuffed boxes!

Happy birthday Spidey!
I think one of my favorite was the build up of the original Venom arc. He made random appearances and then culminated with issue #317, I think. Classic issue!

Another favorite of mine was when he gained the Capt. Universe powers, I know it's corny but such a fun read!

Spidey well done sir. I have grown up with you for 30years, I will grow old with you.
The reason I love comics and CBM's
plasticman - 8/10/2012, 7:16 AM
What the devil? $666.66 for Secret Wars? You think they would adjust it a dollar or two.
plasticman - 8/10/2012, 7:17 AM
Oh and happy birthday, Spidey....you live in a zoo and smell like one too. You'll get your 50 spankings later when the Hulk arrives at the party.

He was my childhood hero, defying the lines of reliability like Superman and Batman never could, his endless tales always put a smile on my face and had me begging for more. He truly has learned that with great power, comes great responsibility.
riddlemethis09 - 8/10/2012, 7:36 AM
I grew up watching the 90s Spider-man cartoon. I wasn't just a fan but always wanted to be him. He is the ultimate hero that a person can relate to. As I have grown up and learned more about the Wall-Crawler's trials both in costume and as Peter Parker.
Happy Birthday to my favorite superhero- here's hoping for another spectacular 50 years!

D@mn, 50 years ago, one of my all time favorite hero was created for the millions of people to enjoy. 50 years of adventures, humor, jokes and quips, of heartbreak and loss, ups and downs. I'm glad that I discovered Spider-Man when I was just 5 years old and from there I started my love and enjoyment for comics (and Spidey comics, in particular). Spidey, not only did you make my childhood the best childhood there was, but for changing my life. Thanks, Spidey, and also.....

:)

Stay EPIC, my friends!
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 8/10/2012, 11:42 AM
@woodrow765 - Same here, dude. Well, kinda. I discovered Spidey when I was just 5 years old. Long story short, I came back home with my Mom and sibblings from the store and I saw a huge poster of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man on this Blockbuster store. I saw that poster and I was just in awe and in wonderment. I wanted to know who this "Spider-Man" was. I asked my Mom if we could get the movie, but we couldn't 'cause we had to move. After a month or so, my parents bought Spider-Man and, boy, oh, boy, did I enjoy it. And from there, I started my adventures with Spider-Man. :)
