Some tie-in merchandise for Seth Rogen's upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem animated movie has been shared online, giving us another look at the character designs for the titular Heroes in a Half-Shell.

A cereal box and several t-shirts spotlight Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michaelangelo, who will be depicted as younger teens for the first time on the big screen (they're usually supposed to be around 16 or 17).

Some fans seem to feel that the Turtles all look a little too alike (coloured bandanas aside), but we think there are enough subtle differences to make them stand out as individuals.

Check out the images at the links below, and be sure to share your thoughts in the comments.

“After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”

Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon will voice the roles of Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael, respectively. The cast also includes Jackie Chan as Splinter, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, John Cena as Rocksteady, Ice Cube as Superfly, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom, and Seth Rogen as Bebop.

Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs. the Machines) directed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which is produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

I wouldn’t say awesome. The movie looks good, but the turtles come off as annoying and insufferable. Seth Rogen isn’t very talented.

Not to mention great comedies.💁

Has he made shit? Yup but your statement is just not true🤡

But he produced them and was involved.

@AmazingFILMporg - all that means is he gave them money. I can almost guarantee that any changes that were for the worse were his idea.

Seth Rogan is pretty shit.

@Waifuslayer - he's the producer of this film too lmfao

It's the same exact situation. Seth Rogen knows how to pool good talent together. It's been proven time and time again.

All of those shows he produced could've sucked, but they didn't. Good source material does not mean good adaptation.

Jeff Rowe is also a great director. Mitchells vs the Machine was a great film. The Turtles kind of being annoying is great cause they're actually real teens for the first time in their entire history, and let's not forget the target audience of this franchise has and always will be for kids, so casting kids to actually appeal to kids makes a lot more sense than casting people in their late 20's and 30's.

@AmazingFILMporg - Seth Rogen didn’t create any of the source material used. He also is most likely just a producer in that he was a financial backer. Look at his and Sarah Silverman’s horrible Xmas movie, if you want true Seth Rogen genius. Also, his comedies aren’t that good. Especially the ones he stars in.

@KelvTwelve - kids don't give a shit about TMNT. Older fans have kept the franchise strong, even when they keep trying to go the kiddie route. It's not going to happen.

There's a reason NECA 1990 movie figures are always selling out and trash like RISE gets canceled and it's merch rots on clearance racks.

@Waifuslayer - I literally walked into 11-12 kids looking over a bridge the other day and they were pointing at turtles in a river and calling them the names of the turtles.

I asked them which iteration they watched - they told me the 1990 movie. Also Rise has a clear defined fanbase among an older demographic, it's weird how some "TMNT" fans aren't used to the series being wildly different in each variation now.

The 2012 was literally the perfect incarnation to me, but if every version was like it, it would not have the longevity the franchise clearly has to this day.

@PatientXero - he annoys tf out of me. And it pisses me off that he made the turtles look like 11 year olds especially Donnie probably why he's the only one without a Walmart t shirt advertised lol. But that being said as much as a douche nozzle Rogan is,Invincible & The Boys are my 2 favorite comic book shows maybe even just shows in general. I attribute that to talent

Waifuslayer - 3/21/2023, 11:26 AM
@KelvTwelve - I think the reason us older fans grumble at the newer stuff is because in the last 33 years we STILL haven't gotten anything close to matching the 1990 movie. The film still holds up so I don't think nostalgia is totally to blame. We just have been craving something with a similar or even darker tone akin to the OG Mirage books.

I liked the 2012 series a lot, especially after it got going. I was aged out of the property by the time the 2003 version came around so I don't have the love for that series that most fans seem to have, but I wouldn't mind giving the series a watch. Some of the clips I've seen look really good. Rise is a travesty and the only people who seem to like it are the same fans who still buy the trash fire that is the current IDW books.

It's not like I hate the lighter stuff. I grew up watching the 87 series and I was OBSESSED with the show and toys. I just realized I'm actually wearing a t-shirt with the 87 designs right now 😅 but if the success of The Last Ronin has taught us anything it's that a majority of the fanbase is craving an adult version.

I'll always support TMNT and this looks decent but I do think it could go either way. The casting is good and the trailer had some flourishes of cleverness but idk something about this seems off

Speaking of TMNT...

Where's my AAA semi-open-world narrative-driven optional-co-op slightly-more-mature TMNT game? Why are they sitting on a gold mine and not exploiting it?

My problem with Seth is his entitled arrogance. Used to love him but now I can’t stand him. He even made fun of a struggling filmmaker who had his car broken into and all his filmmaking equipment stolen. Screw Seth.

Anything Seth Rogan is attached to normally devolves into shit. This will probably be the same, the only original things its doing are things to piss off the fanbase so people talk about this.
